Definitely, the feeling of watching it live is very different when you are in front of the TV. There are fans screaming and maybe you can see a glimpse of some Hollywood stars and other former and current boxers wanted to see this fight and interested on how it will end. Whether Tyson by KO early or Jake Paul trying to push this fight to a full 8 rounds for judges decision win. And that's where the hyping and promoting is all about, trying to bring fans to their seats and willing to pay big $$$ just to see their idol Iron Mike again in the ring, or maybe there are fans wanted to see Jake Paul lying in the canvass from a brutal punch from Tyson.
There are probably too many people that would like to see Jake Paul to go down, but I doubt this will happen, as even if I still believe that Mike has the power to do so, I doubt he will even try, and in the case he put Jake Paul in a bad state Mike will probably avoid going for the KO.

I think this because it is likely Jake Paul may like to keep exploiting his image as a boxer even if he was defeated, but if he were to lose convincingly against Mike, the offers for more fights may dry up and he cannot allow this.

Idk Holyfield could be the next lol

Although I doubt Mike id going to win against this younger Jake. There are lots of pundits who actually believe Mike could KO Jake. I watch the progress of this fight as rules are being updated and some pro boxers actually give their opinion about the fight.
You may want to check this out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v2T4eCP8AHw

I truly believe that if Mike knocks out Paul, he will want another challenge. If he wins the fight, regardless of how quickly or not, he will definitely call someone else to fight. There's no reason to stop if he wins

I think not. The only reason I see why he accepted this fight (except money), was his wish to punish that cocky kid named Jake. As soon as he beats him, he will get back to his retirement. If he really wanted to fight so badly, he would have called out other fighters himself or accepted offers. I think Jake Paul was not the only one who challenged Mike.

There are others as well but Jake Paul is currently the king of exhibition fights now, so he could beat Jake Paul, that would increase his value and eventually he will become the king of exhibition fights. There's a risk for Jake Paul here for fighting Mike Tyson, but we can't deny that Mike now is probably just all talk because he cannot be his old self due to his age. Despite the hypes I read about Mike, I still could not convince myself to bet on him, I thin it's just not wise to bet on an old boxer that aren't active in boxing anymore.

AFAIK it's Mike who initiated this fight to happen and this is from the mouth of Jake which he said before. Jake is like a businessman though, what opportunity comes on his way, he will take it as long as he can make money by promoting fights. He wants someone who is also marketable and if there are boxers like Mike who don't even need an introduction to the newer generation, that's when he could exploit to make money.

Oscar de la Hoya is a perfect match for him because the guy, besides having a promotion of his own, is also popular. They will very likely agree ahead of time even before Mike vs Jake happens.

I think Jake and his management had an open offer maybe for years to Tyson to fight and Tyson for his own reasons made the move to start that fight arrangement going forward.  No doubt money is the incentive as well clearance on health and any other concerns.  Its a given Tyson has the major say on this fight and who to fight as Jake is one of many Tyson could choose as he wished.

I'd choose someone else personally but the money might be the most with this particular choice and thats the focus imo.  I dont think its a question of challenge, its the ease of earning money and easing debts etc.

Their bout was sanctioned as a professional fight and not exhibition from I've read. That means the results will be part of their boxing records. Tyson probably couldn't care less about his record being blemished by an influencer but it's still a shame to get his 7th after 30 years.

It will be 8 rounds of boxing but this could likely end in under 4.

It will be that fight that counts, but ultimately and in the future we will look at all the variables of age, time without training, physique, etc. And regardless of the result, Tyson will always be a great champion. So, it ends up being something official, but in the future it won't be of much value.

This is probably gonna be life changing money for Tyson and I expect the offer was too good to refuse.

My friend invited me to this fight and I was honestly considering it.  For old folks like me, a Mike Tyson fight is pretty much the pinnacle of sporting excellence.  Granted this is a far cry from that, but nostalgia is strong.  Personally though, I'm just as excited to watch this on TV like I used to watch the old Tyson fights back in the day.  I expect Netflix to spare no expense making it an entertaining broadcast as it breaks new ground for them as well.  So while I may not be there (we'll see), it sure seems like this will be an event to remember, or at least I hope it will be.

I don't think I'm quite looking forward to it as much as I did as a kid with Tyson in his prime, but I am a fan of cross-over or even gimmick fights, just as long as they're legit and this one at least seems to have been sanctioned as a proper fight now. There's also a bit of jeopardy here. Has Jake bitten off more than he can chew? One of them could be really embarrassed by an early KO. Jake can't really win here in my opinion though. If Jake wins then he's beaten a 60-year old. If he loses then he's been beaten by one  Grin

Ho boy, if you have the chance to see that fight live, don't miss it because we all know this will be the last fight from Mike Tyson and the last opportunity to see him fighting.

I was looking at the ticket price, and it will be from $450 to $3241... i mean, if you are going to watch it from the last row for $450 i would better recommend watching it at home, but if you have the chance to get a nice seat close to the ring, then it totally worth it to be there.

Boxing events in person can be underwhelming. Often you can't see what's going on and it's a much better experience at home right in the action. You also don't have a load of rowdy dickheads throwing beer about and looking for a fight. I haven't been to a single boxing event there wasn't at least one fight in the stands.

I'm curious how many of ya'll think that this is a pre-determined rigged fight?  An honest assessment, as it's easy to just say "yeah, it's rigged".  Do you think it is, or do you think it's not?

I'm on the fence.  On one hand, the money for both, win, lose or draw is going to be so massive that I don't think either would care if it was a rigged match (at least Paul wouldn't give a crap, but Tyson might).

July events of note...1) Deadpool & Wolverine 2)Jake Paul vs Tyson   Cheesy

I wouldn't say fraudulent, as there will be punches and it will end up counting on each person's cartels. It will be an unusual fight, probably with some choreography. There will be real punches though, I hope.

It's really hard to gauge though, I for one think that it might be rigged, but with the way they changes some and apply boxing rules, I think it's either they want to protect Jake Paul from Tyson for having this fight for just 2 minutes per round, or prevent Tyson from getting exhausted. And that's where Jake Paul's youth will enter into the picture and take advantage of the fight if Mike let's say just good for 1-4 rounds.

I'm on the fence.  On one hand, the money for both, win, lose or draw is going to be so massive that I don't think either would care if it was a rigged match (at least Paul wouldn't give a crap, but Tyson might).
For Mike Tyson, yeah, it could be his biggest purse, he wouldn't get out of retirement again to just get chump change to fight Jake Paul. And if I'm not mistaken, I'm hearing around $20 million guaranteed for Mike here.

It's expensive for some but for others who can afford and really like these fighters, they can pay $2 million for the VIP. After all, this is priceless because it gives us an entertainment and no one can measure the happiness we have. I'm not a millionaire, but if I am and I am huge fan of Mike Tyson, definitely I'm  willing to spend money for this.

Even rich people will find it difficult to buy. Whoever buys it will definitely make a huge content about it because it's not worth having this package in any way.

And in the end it just shows the hype of the fight being shown, if they are selling it, someone is probably buying it.

Mike Tyson has been seeming pretty confident in his podcast appearances as of late.  I'm not sure why though...  He looks good training, but damn is he getting old and it's clear from watching him speak.  I really hope he gets a massive payday because if he has to keep fighting until he dies it will be a horrible way for such a legend to end his life.  I just hope it's a short fight.  Seeing such an old man have to get back in the ring is genuinely depressing and while Mike is the greatest fighter ever and Jake is barely a professional, this age gap is going to show itself during the fight.  I hope I'm wrong...

Even if there was an exact script I'd hope the lawyers for Tyson within any contractual agreement would regardless figure for the majority of payment occurring no matter what.   If he loses his temper and just batters Jake Paul out of the ring then that is what is going to happen, nobody and no reason is going to stop him.

Can you blame him for losing his temper especially if we see any of the childish taunting Jake Paul has performed previously.   Also Tyson was famous at one time for finishing fights far too fast, that is the exact opposite of a show fight; a KO to end it in minutes is what very possibly could happen.

That cannot be what they are planning for but has to be a considered reality, on record is 40 technical knock outs out of 46 total fights.
Again I would hope Tyson gets the money he deserves and can retire in peace and with good health, surely he has earned that much by now.

Before this fight, I think they already had some agreement behind the curtain but we all know Mike isn't a cheater and he does not like someone doing it, he already made a powerful statement against such kind of opponent by biting off his ear. I think Paul doesn't know what he is going to get because Mie doesn't really care about the rule that's why even Michael Jordan is scared of him in his prime.  Grin Cheesy Let's just hope that no one will get seriously hurt in this fight because, at the end of the day, we all want entertainment not some harm to them.

It seems kind of overpriced but it really solidifies the point that this is only a cash grab rather than a serious sporting event. Even if it’s sanctioned as a “real” fight, for two guys that aren’t aspiring to become world champion, they are really under no obligation to take this seriously. I’m guessing once they step inside the ring, everything will be somewhat scripted and the end result will be whatever organizers feel they can squeeze the most value out of. A Jake Paul victory leads to more circus fight paydays, while a Tyson victory could be used to market Tyson branded products as well as Netflix documentaries and series based around his personality.

I really hadn't thought about the marketing issue. Even if they don't sell, they will be in the media promoting the fight again. Who knows, maybe billionaires will see it this way and end up buying it. But I think it's very unlikely to sell, it could even be a price to anchor other prices below VIP.
