I remember when I was in middle school, we used to play cards almost every day, and our stupidity reached the point where we would skip classes while we were inside school. The method of playing was easy, as the largest number was the winning card. So, some of my friends and I would gather in the middle school bathroom and make bets with the money that we had collected  from selling cigarettes.
Of course, this is not something I am proud of and I do not recommend it to everyone, but it's just childhood memories .

I’ve never done anything particularly shameful regarding gambling in my life. I made some stupid, relatively large bets when I was younger, losing bets I must add. Nothing that I am ashamed of though really.

Just remember to learn from your mistakes, that goes for all areas of life, not just gambling.

The only form of gambling I did when I was a kid wasn't of monetary kind. It was more of bragging rights that's why I don't classify it as gambling. My parents wouldn't allow for such so I know better than to get indulged in such activities. It was only till a few years ago, say the last decade that I got involved.  It was not a case of wrong place, wrong time  but it was well worth it because that's when I learnt what taking risks felt like. Risk taking is vital when it's not irrational because scared money makes no money.

That said, you should stop beating yourself up about it. One way or another, you would've still been exposed to gambling.

Well, a lot of my friends during the pandemic until 2021 introduced me to online gambling, and not only will we gamble simultaneously, we'll also play with the intent of becoming the top guy who gets the most prizes, as we have a different leaderboard with its dedicated bragging rights and prize pool in there as well. So think of it as competitive gambling among friends.

Eventually by trying to outdo everyone else and win the top of the leaderboards since one thing about me is that I am a very competitive player and as much as possible I will always do everything in my power if it means I can secure a win for myself, I not only managed to dry up my bankroll, but I also harbored gambling addiction while my friends think of it as nothing but our own little way to stay connected and social even when we can't meet in person. It got to a point where I had to quit gambling for a long while and actually rehabilitate myself which luckily worked out for the better.

Not remotely stupid or crazy but is certainly up there. if I do say so myself.

Gamble and ensure you're winning, because a gambler that's able to showcase evidence, it means your winning ratio have surpassed your loss. Always a good idea to be among the top sides, never holding down but keen on bringing on the solid long runs in the system. We all have stories to tell when it involves gambling. I know how stupid and selfish I was then when it involves gambling, I was never in any good position but each time I see my friends placing wagers, I thought much to gamble because it was never a clear idea for me to be left out.

The worst bets when you are a kid are dares to take risks, this story doesnt involve me but I know others did bets or dares where you win if you complete the challenge.   The worst challenge was to zipline down a live electric cable, from a railway bridge you could jump on and get down to the ground.  One person jumped on with a metal watch on his wrist, it doesn't work out well for him and he got electrical burns.   Thats the worst kind of gambling, with money all that can happen is you go broke but amazingly there is worse behavior where people risk there lives for a bet, common in drag racing with cars also often deaths can occur.

Ever since I always do this kind of crazy bet, because I really think that gambling is going to end up losing so your not really going to get lucky every time, but if you are just starting to bet I always just do it all in one bet because I might be lucky or I might lose it, If I win the bet then that's easily going to be a no brainer Im going to cashout after that win because I dont want to keep on gambling because I'm just going to end up losing my money If I stay gambling after that bet. Then if I lose the first bet that could easily be a loss but at least I didn't waste my time on it, If I'm going to lose then I lose.

I barely do it anymore since I mostly do sport betting, It wasn't going to be a good strategy for the most part because one loss of that bet you would be out already, which just means that your not gonna be able to recover anymore after losing that bet, so I mostly do 10$ bets win a good profit reward around x3 of it, So i guess it's a low-risk bet with a higher return, Not bad in my opinion so far I'm able to grow my balance on gambling, most of the time I would just start to 40$ but after a month of betting on NBA games I could easily get around 400$-600$, Could even be higher if Im getting lucky on combo bets which could give higher multiplier reward.

A lot of crazy stories and memories of childhood and school times. We used to bunk classes to do a lot of things, we didn't use to play cards or any specific gambling game, but I remember playing pool with my cousins and we used to bet on the games sometimes. It used to be just for fun and not for the gains because we just used to bet with our pocket money which used to be a small amount just for food and snacks that you could buy and eat at school.

When you are at that age, you do all sorts of things to enjoy your time, but sometimes, doing those things can affect your studies and other things. So as you said, I would never recommend younger generations to do the same thing because education is extremely important.

Am I the only one having a different interpretation of the part I bolded? Like what do you mean by selling cigarettes at that age? Well, I know we all did some naughty stuffs during our childhood days but this got me curious. I remember skipping school several times just to play around and end up receiving beating but funny enough, I will still repeat it again and again. One of the crazy things I have done just to bet was trekking 5km far to place my bet in one of the offline shops. On a normal day, I won't trek that distance even if I am been offer money to do it but behold, I did it for gambling. What hurt me more is when I discovered the ticket got bursted even before I return back to house. I slept until evening time to regain my senses. Those childhood experiences were very crazy and funny but glad we learned and realized our mistakes. At least, we can tell when our kids are making same mistakes and caution them in time.

I haven't experienced this kind of situation where I need to skip classes to place a bet with my friends. This is the only thing I always try to avoid to at least make myself be responsible when it comes to my studies. I don't think I would be able to finish college if I did this kind of activity while studying.

The only thing I can experience is every time my relatives gather, we often gamble together, and our favorite game is the lucky 9 and in-between. That's the only thing I consider a crazy bet as we gather to have a vacation together and gamble at the same time.

We usually do this on our school gymnasium during our P.E(Physical Education) when we have sports subject that time. We usually made bet against other section that has same subject with us on same period.

My teacher doesn’t have any idea that the class matches between 2 section has a money bet on it that’s why the game is too physical even though it’s just an exhibition match just for fun. I’m facilitating the bet that’s why I almost got kick out in the school after my teacher found out. Luckily I manage to escape punishment by tricking my teacher that the money involved is not that huge and we use it to purchased class project for him. All involved still received a disciplinary action but not a severe punishment such as kick out from school.

I started it as fun and soon it became part of me and I was gambling the wrong way and wrong time. I started lying to my parents just so I could get money to gamble. This affected my academic performance and soon my parents started asking questions to know the reason for the decline in my academic performance and so the teachers and my elder brother began to monitor my activities in school. This made me stop because I can't stand the anger of my parents.

What I am saying in essence is that most of our behaviour will be frowned upon by our parents but as a child, we keep it hidden from parents and until the activity starts bringing negativity into our lives they will not know. my advice is that parents should always make an effort to monitor the activities of their children whether at home, school or any other place to be sure that their child is not lured into gambling so early in life.

What a story! I am glad that you are now an adult and you can be smarter when you are parenting your children. It will be easier since nothing children can do now that we've not probably done during our time. Though we are not proud of most, nevertheless, the experience is there, and in my case, it made me wiser and smarter. We all have our stories, and for mine, mostly, it is my friends that did those rubbish things, I could only be informed of some and fully aware of the others in most cases, but I do not follow suit. I always have this conscience then, so I try as much as possible to stay away from trouble, especially those things that are only worthy to be done by adults.

However, the thing I knew I did worst was when I was an adult and it was my sole decision. It wasted so much money even as I lied to my parents to collect huge amounts of money to achieve it, but it never affected my academics, and that was trading. Mehn, I wasted enough money in trading to the point that when I flashback, I regret my action. Nevertheless, it is now a mixed feeling because I have made way more in trading now. And if I did not follow that dangerous path then, I would not be calling trading as one of my income sources today. For this, mine is still positively impactful.

There’s little point in indulging in the activity if you don’t get some form of entertainment from it. You’re more likely to lose money than to win some so there’s little point if you’re playing just for the money. Perhaps having constant hopes of winning some big money someday keeps people going.

That happens to everyone, if you bet on red on the roulette then black comes next, if you bet black then red appears, and if you bet both then the zero or the double zero appears, so I do not think this is just a matter of the casino cheating you, this is just the way gambling works from time to time, still if this were to happen a lot to you then it is possible that you could make a crazy bet to try to recover the money you have lost during the session, so you need to do what you can to prevent this from happening to you.
