I don't think you need to know much about gambling other than it is a negative expected value investment. That's pretty much it.

Addiction isn't something that you can make someone not to get Into, a friend of mine told me his story of how he started smoking and he said that he always never wanted to be addicted to it and would give himself the excuse that he wasn't gonna do it every day but as time went on and he continued to like the feeling and make Friends that do it he started getting into more frequent smoking habit than usual.
