I think these influencers must know their target audience before accepting the offer or should not be included in their blogs or videos?

This is one of the reasons why parents in my community are restricting their children’s access to the internet because of the things that are being posted there - a lot of these so-called influencers are only in for the money what happens to their fans are not their concerns.

If you go online you’ll see most of them being ambassadors for a scam betting site - imagine someone who could knowingly promote something that they know aren’t genuine, how do you expect them to care for kids that are viewing their contents? To them the kids are just more views and likes nothing more.

I don't think they have a real interest in their target audience. whether they are young or old. The important thing is to receive views/visits and advertise.
You are right. Their goal is how much engagements that they make and how those engagements can translate to visits and signups to the casinos' websites. They also use to have like their affiliate link at the bottom of their text, they'll tell their viewers to click on their link to get some discount on their deposits.

The platform I use mostly where this is rampant is X(formerly Twitter). These people first create a post that is very controversial or have some sexual undertone. Just something that is strong enough to catch the attention of their audience and in between that, they make their gambling  advert post.

I understand that social media influencers are selfish and they're more concerned about their money, but truth be told, there's no way an influencer would know the age bracket of persons that watches their contents or ads. So I think it's the responsibility of a parent or guardian to control what pops up on their children's screen. At their age they're very vulnerable and could mess up by gambling at such age. They shouldn't be given access to mobile phones or computers that have Internet connectivity.

But how this could affect the mindset of the kids when they are also seeing these ads/promotions from the social media influencers they followed? I could be wrong but this has a mental effect on them and at a very young age, they are exposed to gambling already which is supposedly not the right time.
Children don't have much discernment of what is real from what is just propaganda. They are likely to take those ads seriously, believing gambling can be a solid source of income or a life changer if they deposit enough money to play at casinos. I believe many of us had this kind of misconception when we were on such stages of our lives, besides many other imaginary ideas which didn't match reality.

However, if kids don't have money and no way to access casinos, it shouldn't be an issue, right? They will keep imagining and dreaming about gambling, but they won't be able to put their plans in practice, unless they are raised by careless parents who give them access to credit cards, banking account apps and so on... Anyway, it's pretty easy to not let this threat go ahead. Just make sure your children aren't having access to your personal banking data.

I think these influencers must know their target audience before accepting the offer or should not be included in their blogs or videos?
Influencers do know, but they don't care, as long as money is being deposited on their accounts. They earn from both sides: from casinos and from the infant public. There is a very famous case of influencer here in my country who is included on his category you are mentioning. He is the most popular youtuber from the country and the majority of his subscribers are children, as he produces content related to Minecraft, joking and games.

Suddenly, he started promoting a casino as opportunity of extra income, although several polemics involving the respective casino and other local influencers, he stopped his advertisements and claimed to have never promoted online gambling. The guy is just an hypocritical, what isn't uncommon among social influencers.

No, you’re not wrong. Gambling is something can make one rich overnight. While this is the good part of it as people see it, it’s also the bad part. The young ones who are already considering gambling as a source of income or wealth would end up with laziness because they are seeing that with gambling it’s simple, so they become lazy to do an actual job or work. Is it possible to hide the younger ones from gambling? Not possible as long as they have access to the internet.
With all the easy access to information that can be obtained by anyone on the internet, of course everyone will be able to find out about gambling through advertisements displayed on social media and it would be a shame if they did not understand properly the impacts of gambling and tried to gamble so that they cannot control their desire to gamble, of course this will be a nightmare for them and for those who consider gambling as a source of income, of course they will be lazy in looking for work that can provide income in the hope that they can win from the bets they play and will The only thing they can get from betting is of course the hope that luck will be on their side to be able to win the bet they are playing.

You’re right that everything about gambling is available in the internet but it’s a different scenario if gambling content is posted on social media that doesn’t have any filter for young audiences. On this case influencers that has an original content which young ages watches then turn into gambling that force young ages exposed to gambling without their consent.

It’s true that it’s user responsibility on what they will see on the internet but it’s different case if an underage was force to watch a content just because the influencers they are following for the original content was change to gambling content. This is what happening on social media right now regarding the spread of gambling.

A lot of social media influencers especially bloggers and YouTubers are promoting gambling usually at the end of their blogs or videos.
I could see a huge contribution and spread of information that they made especially during this time where the majority are using smartphones already. In fact, we've been seeing a massive increase in gamblers and online gambling sites. But how this could affect the mindset of the kids when they are also seeing these ads/promotions from the social media influencers they followed? I could be wrong but this has a mental effect on them and at a very young age, they are exposed to gambling already which is supposedly not the right time.

If it is with kids, then things should be established on parental influence. Teach them the danger in gambling activities. We cannot control the things running in social media platforms, so at least, create a good foundation for them when it comes on the do's and dont's. On the other hand, it will really be a good practice for those who are promoting gambling sites and platforms to target their audience in particular with age. However, many of them do not care of such risk from their contents simply because they are being paid on how many people their videos would reach regardless of their audience's age. Boils down to the idea that we have no control of these people. But no people would engage to gambling activties without their iniative into it, which is why I recommend parents to have more time guiding their children as they grow. There are also ways to ban such platforms but of course not all of it will be done in an instant.

Social media influencers have the power to influence many people these days. When it comes to promoting gambling, it's important for them to know their target audience and make sure they're sending the right message. I think if done responsibly influencer marketing could actually be a great way to educate people about responsible gambling.

It cannot be denied that social media such as bloggers and YouTubers are one of the social media that often advertise gambling and these two platforms are also easy to access, It is also one of the features most used by young people. Nearly all young people use blogs and YouTubers.

Talking about influencers, as far as I know, they don't care who their followers are and how old they are, significantly they only work to reach as many followers as possible and can influence the behavior of as many of their followers as possible, regardless of whether they are minors or adults, many I see Influencers will maintain at all costs to maintain their audience loyal to gambling or other relevant and relevant content, My understanding is it's hard for influencers to limit their audience by age, they don't care about that.

Only parents or themselves can overcome all of this so that they don't fall into negative things when viewing gambling content on blog platforms or YouTubers.

I don't think freelance influencers care about their target audience, it's a task for the advertiser not the blog. Influencers are focused on maintaining the blog, to keep it updated. They need money to run the blog efficiently. Advertisers like casinos, offer them enough funds to place those ads. Because they, the casino, see the blogger discuss gambling in his online space. Most gambling ads are placed on game related blogs. Else the conversion rate will be low. However, advertisers may not care about the niche, if the influencer has enormous number of followers.

Such ads are disseminated across such pages, because out of those millions of followers, they'll be thousands of gamblers. Who will be interested in trying out the advertised gambling platform. Moreover, in the context of this thread, advertisers may want to convert non gamblers in the page to gamblers, by placing such ads aggressively. That is the influencer has to promote gambling on every single content he creates. Hence, kids visiting such page will one day get interested in gambling. Especially if the ads are spiced with a cash prize. Internet users are mainly tricked with giveaways and related ideas. "Money call the shots or makes the mare go", so, the influencers can't resist some cash offers for an ad placement, even when they dislike placing such ads.

I think that every influencer likely knows their target audience quite well. Given that influencers have built up a large following by consistently producing content that engages their audience, they should naturally have a good understanding of what resonates with their followers. Its important for influencers to use this knowledge to make informed decisions about what ads to place on their blog and to ensure that the products or services being promoted reflect the interests and values of their followers. By doing this influencers can not only keep their followers happy but also maintain their own credibility by fostering an authentic and genuine connection with their audience because they have the power to influence the opinions of their followers.

Do you think the influential people you write about are interested in you and our children? Besides, how can you prohibit them from something that brings them money? You need to start with yourself, with raising your child, so that he or she understands the danger of becoming addicted to gambling. And all other people advertising gambling will do what they consider necessary for themselves.

The fact that influencers are being used by gambling companies to boost their user base means more young people will be gambling and most likely try to get an easy life through it which is hard on the young generation as they can't be shielded from this... Perphaps these gambling platforms need new rules to such as ad's to make them age appropriate to protect the young minds and only deliver this kind of content to the adults only.

I could be wrong but this has a mental effect on them and at a very young age, they are exposed to gambling already which is supposedly not the right time.
Totally agree, this means it's either the working class won't be productive as the young gamblers will be thinking of their loss..if not this means that those lucrative careers such as being a doctor, mathematician, scientist etc will see a decline as people will prefer the easy route of gambling...

I think these influencers must know their target audience before accepting the offer or should not be included in their blogs or videos?
Non of those have the moral campus as they are interested in filling their own pockets and expect their audience to separate right from wrong by themselves...

What I'm scared of what would happen to them is that they would think it's easy money to get from gambling. You just need to get money and then put it all into gambling. It's mostly like that and it's going to be "Magic" or easily be multiplied with gambling. We all know that's not the way and proper thing to do. I hope that young children wouldn't be expose to this kind oof things just because it's easy to access.

Social media has become the avenue through which a lot of non-gamblers became knowledgeable about gambling. These influencers or vloggers are taking advantage of the viewers' gullibility and desire to win a huge sum of money in a short span of time. Also, most of their content are purely made of nothing, creating 5-minute videos of which 3 minutes of those are dedicated to their gambling ads. It's crazy how social media allows this kind of content to proliferate knowing that most of these platforms are anti-crypto or anti-gambling before.

They may not be thinking about me or my family when they created their content, but the platform through which they are spreading this virus know that these are something that should not be allowed. Then again, if this brings in revenues to both parties, I could understand why these social media platforms are turning a blind eye against paid content related to gambling.

These are responsible social media influencers I even encountered one who promotes videos about good vibes in daily living but at the end of the video they promote gambling, can you imagine this kind of people, they want more earnings so they sacrifice their reputation, I stop following and blocked these bloggers, they are not worth following.

I watched one confession from one guy who got paid the equivalent of $2000 for promoting a gambling platform, an amount that they cannot earn from doing reels and ads coming from Google, they cannot decline the offer because it's their bread and butter.

This influencer-pushing-gambling stuff is massive. Very terrible. Influencers' wealth doesnt tell the whole story. Online gambling is rising, which is bad for young people. They're drawn in thinking its harmless. Its not. Why dont we do more? Young fans' influencers must recognise their impact. All of us adore money, including me. This is bigger. Long-term effects on society. We must think better.

It may be about freedom. Freedom is important to me. Freedom without accountability is disastrous. The best tool is the internet. Make wise use of it. We owe future generations. We must demand better and protect our children. This isnt political. About common sense.

Influncers are after making money and they don't care about the harm of what they are advertising is doing to the public, because they only care about themselves and how much that enters their pocket. Children learn very fast these days amd that is why they always want to try whatever they see on TV or internet.

The parents have the responsibility to bring up and monitor their children to stay away from any activity that can destroy them like gambling. This is because gambling sites are advertised everywhere on social media, on sign post on the street and in TV stations when watching football.

...
I think these influencers must know their target audience before accepting the offer or should not be included in their blogs or videos?

I have small children and when I play a cartoon on YouTube or some TV channel for them, the cartoon is repeatedly interrupted by commercials, and in 99% of cases those commercials are for +18. But YouTube is the worst, gambling commercials where coins are jingling, everything lights up and easy profits are promised. Banks and their cheap loans. And yesterday the cartoon was interrupted by a commercial where some guy sings about whores, drugs, and money in a video where all that is presented... I jumped from a chair to stop it.

So the influencers are not the only ones to be blamed, the owners of these sites should have much more responsibility... there should be some rules & regulations. But when I see what YouTube (one of the biggest) is doing, why would anyone else think about the consequences?

I think that when people create YouTube channels to talk about gambling, they put warnings about age restrictions and in casinos they have always had age restriction warnings, everyone over 18 years old and even 16 year olds know Very well, it is forbidden for anyone under 18 years of age to play in casinos, so when people are on YouTube and are watching a comedy video, topics related to politics and a video about gambling comes up, then that person should ignore it. if you have no interest in gambling. and this person doesn't need to complain because they were watching something on YouTube and then some video about gambling came up. all this person should do is ignore the video that talks about gambling and continue watching what he was watching

Many people tend to blame gambling, when they know very well that gambling is not to blame for their failure. Everyone has the right to post whatever they want on their social media channels as long as they respect the social media TOS and it is up to parents to educate their children well so that they do not create casino accounts when they are minors. Nowadays, there are many parents who make the big mistake of giving their children the phone early and forgetting to keep an eye on what their children are doing on the phone, as a result of which one day they discover that their children are committing crimes on the internet or playing in casinos. while they are minors

It may be about freedom. Freedom is important to me. Freedom without accountability is disastrous. The best tool is the internet. Make wise use of it. We owe future generations. We must demand better and protect our children. This isnt political. About common sense.
But in most countries in this world, what those influencers card about is their pockets. They do not care about any children so far it is not their children. The government that supposed to care also do not care because of the money they are seeing from gambling sites. The government only care about the tax. Who cares are the parents. Parents should find all possible means to discipline their children and let them know how gambling is dangerous, promising false hope of money but which will drive them to losses. With the advise, the children will know that the money they can not afford to lose should not be used to gamble.
