Having a mentor is very beneficial in self-development, because they can provide new perspectives, valuable advice, and help us see mistakes that we might have missed. I think many people hesitate to seek out a mentor because they are afraid of being seen as troublesome or not knowing how to start a conversation. However, from my experience, mentors are happy to share their knowledge and experience to teach me so that it is very helpful for me personally. One thing is for sure, in learning we must have a sincere intention and never be ashamed of the potential that we have so that we can get useful knowledge from mentors to achieve success in the future.

But they don't use any advice on themselves because they don't believe in themselves.  We can take advice from anyone, we have to do what we are good at and know we can do and slowly do what we can't.  People don't look for it, they talk to people for their own benefit and ask them what to do and how to get profit and how to succeed in life.  Your thinking is wrong. First of all, even if that mentor is successful, then if there is any mentor, then you should go for advice from him, from whom you will be called a fool.We should do something new by ourselves, by which we have seen something new in this world, and from that, a mentor should learn something from us and work.  It is better to consult a mentor than to do nothing at all.

To this day, I still don't even have a single mentor to serve as a benchmark for the achievements I have now.

It may be true that for some people mentors become one of the things that are quite important as a benchmark or as one of the things that can motivate ourselves but in the end everything will remain the same where it all boils down to ourselves. Even if we have many quality and professional mentors but when we cannot maximize it then everything will remain the same where we cannot even touch success even for our own version.

Not that I don't trust mentors but for now I am still quite comfortable with what I am doing without the benchmark of a mentor because I think that what we do all has risks and the success we want to achieve depends on the efforts we make ourselves not depending on others.

As long as we are learning something positive from someone, that can directly or indirectly be our mentor, because we follow up with some steps or advise form such a person, anybody could be our mentor, we don't have to be sentimental about choosing a mentor, we can also be a source of motivation to some other people and thereby serving a mentor to them, even though we are not aware of how significant our impacts is in other people's life until we are being told.

And if its about the mentor you will for sure learn something positive from a mentor that's is something that is for sure and there wont be any issue because there is a lot you learn from them because they obviously have more experience than anyone that is been mentored so there is now a lot of reasons why a mentor will not be an issue.

And for mentorship it depends on the aspect you are working because mentors will show you a lot of opportunities that you will find very difficult to discover your self but the fact that some people think they don't need a mentor just makes everything more opportunity losing for them.

I would like to discuss this here to understand how many people decide to take this step to find a mentor?

I asked myself this question because in almost every book or interview with successful people I come across a mention of them having, or even currently having a mentor who guides them, helps them develop, and perhaps points out mistakes that will not allow them to grow.

And I was interested in how many of you at some point decided that you needed a mentor, how difficult it was to find one and how did he help you? I suppose that few people use this, maybe even out of fear, because for example I don’t even know who it could be and how can I ask my future mentor about this if I manage to find such a person.

And maybe some of you have been a mentor for other people? Share your experience too, if it is not too much trouble for you.

Yes but on the contrary no because been successful is not about mentorship is all about your mindset and mentality. Having a mentor might help to fast track your journey to  a successful life. But developing your mind, building yourself is sacrosanct to your personal success. Having a role model of who you want to become, creating a mental picture of  the successful life you aim for yourself and working towards it day in day out is one of the tenant of a successful life.

I won't disagree with what you've said about believing in ourselves. But as a person, you have a way to discern whether the mentor is really there to help you and show the best out of yourself. And if not, you know when to run away from that type of mentor. It's rare to see mentors that are there to help you with what you're starting. Most mentors are there to milk money from you as their mentee and all they want is the subscription that you'll pay them. That's not a legit mentor but the realest ones are wanting to see the best of your shape and results driven.

True, some of them able to reached out that pinnacle of success with their own hard work and with that pure self learn things or simply they are the ones who do make out such grinding about achieving into those goals and targets in life. Although there's really that differences if there's someone who do guide you but of course not everyone will really be having the money or resources on providing themselves about having a mentor or joining up some groups with subs but honestly i dont really see out the relevance because anything you can already search up on the internet if we do speak about information on which you would really be needing up to know, and the rest will really be gained through real experience and thats why its really that important that you do set up goals on your own whether you do have a mentor or not. Success will really be depending or basing up on how you would do such hard work because not all will really be able to have that kind of mentality at the moment that they do tend to build up their dreams on which whenever they do encounter up some problems then most of people will really be that quitting up themselves and wont pursue out those dreams and just contented on what they do have in terms of skills.

A mentor is just a general guide to something we don't know yet because maybe he/she is more experienced in certain things so we call him/her a mentor. But in many ways there is also truth in what you said that a mentor is not someone who can change everyone's life because basically everyone must be more disciplined personally for themselves without associating anything with a mentor. You are right halfway, what about those who "cannot" and "will never" discover themselves by themselves, let alone have faith? This is where mentorship comes in. Some of the successful people you see today were picked, motivated and helped in one way or another before they achieved success. Fine, it's not everybody that needs mentoring, but that should not silent the fact that many more people need it. And I tell you, had it been some older people who are poor today found the needed help of mentorship at the right time, it's highly possible they would not be poor. Don't also forget that it takes success to be a mentor and that alone is a plus to every mentee.

In life, I have almost completely walked alone in terms of finances and have had almost no specific mentors in an effort to achieve success in building the business that I am engaged in. My parents used to have businesses and maybe we are used to following their pattern in terms of developing businesses so that we certainly grew up in an environment that has the skills to develop businesses so that we don't need to look for mentors in achieving success.

Having a mentor is good, but we have to recognize their abilities because there are many people who say they have the ability to invest or develop businesses, but basically their abilities are not much better, so choosing the wrong mentor will not provide greater benefits.
