There is a limit mentorship can take you to, the bulk of the job is on the individual. That's a good ask, I also came to realize that I needed a mentor when I was not getting any more clients for my content writing and SEO services I was wondering what I was doing wrong and what more I needed to learn in this field to get more clients. Well, I searched on Facebook, I searched for those with similar jobs and somehow I ended up talking with a girl who also studies at my University haha and she took some courses from an Expert and I spoke with her and she said you should take her course.

In my point of view what I think about the mentor for becoming successful in a sector is not compulsory. The percentage of success of someone who does not have a mentor is very small because the decision made could not be in line and in the end they failed in developing success. You need moments of self-discovery even before choosing a mentor or role model for yourself, without self-discovery, there is high possibility of selecting the wrong mentor, facing more difficulty and at the apex of it failing in life. You should discover the direction you are heading in life and possibly seek mentors in that direction and not just any kind of mentor.

In the moments of self-discovery, you should ask yourself these few questions at least

• What are my good at?
• What are the things I do effortlessly and with joy?
• What are the things I wish I could be doing with my life?
• Are my really on the right career that blends with my kind of person?

When you can answer these questions accurately, then you must have discovered who you are and with such discovery, you can look up people that have made it in such fields and read with understanding about them and the principles they employed.

First and foremost not every successful person had a mentor, you may have someone you look up too but not necessarily a mentor, some of this mentor of a thing are mainly heard in the media and I don't solely believe or depend on such stories,  I prefer being practical, like some person has said here already, instead of seeking for mentorship, while not hire some one to do the job though this might call for more exepnses but if you have the funds to do that, it will be an exceptional move because you can learn some ideas from your employee without much stress than whosever you call a mentor.

Personally I have never think of having a mentor because I see it as unnecessary because how would you even know that you are been mentored very well, so what's the need of going to look for something that may seem troublesome for you if your are not careful but in all it depends on individual intelligence though I won't totally dispute the fact that some field needs a mentor to guild an individual through to avoid going astray especially when such individual got no idea on the Business he has chosen to do.

I agree that you don't always need a mentor to achieve success.
But at the same time, I agree that you need a person from the outside who could take an independent look at the business/idea and evaluate it from their point of view. Also, such a person from the outside should have their own experience, from which they can comment, and not just say smart words.
