Can't say that this is false but some successful individuals learned from their previous mistakes making themselves, their own mentors in life. But it is true, many people chasing success are learners towards other people who already made it. There are also some who are paying other people to coach them and there's nothing wrong with it as well as long as you are going in line with your goal. This is just how inspiration works; first ones to finish the race will wait for the others and those who are behind will follow the path first ones' took. As long as you are learning, regardless of who you are 'following' then that's good.

I believe that the environment in which we grow up and communicate becomes our first guide, the one whose views and concepts become important to us. First, the family, proper upbringing, and the value of education that the family explains, then the society we come to based on our interests. Those who spend their entire lives communicating with people who have resigned themselves to their poverty and are not ready to go further than they have will never be successful. But even people born into poor families who understand that they are not ready to vegetate can make their way on their own, and on the contrary, they do not need nannies who will push them through life. It is not the mentor that is important, but the desire to live better.

Last line is making a strong point and I will agree to it. There are a lot of mentors including those which are self proclaimed but not all people are having the desire to become successful. Some are indeed just having idealization of what does it feel to achieve success but are not even exerting effort or actions to put things in real life. Same goes with how learning process takes place from the book to the reader; it depends on how the reader will absorb the message the author meant to deliver to its audiences.

I would like to discuss this here to understand how many people decide to take this step to find a mentor

Its's human basic to look and be under the guidance of a mentor; it started with our parents and we move on to find our role model as we grow up.

I asked myself this question because in almost every book or interview with successful people I come across a mention of them having, or even currently having a mentor who guides them, helps them develop, and perhaps points out mistakes that will not allow them to grow.

Because no one learns anything by himself, knowledge, principles, and teaching are handed down from one generation to another, and this happens from mentor to student.

And I was interested in how many of you at some point decided that you needed a mentor, how difficult it was to find one and how did he help you? I suppose that few people use this, maybe even out of fear, because for example I don’t even know who it could be and how can I ask my future mentor about this if I manage to find such a person.

We all need mentors in our lives. There will always be be a yearning to find one and its not that hard to find because these mentors will also looking for students to hand down what he learned over the years and fate and circumstances will make them find each other, I have my mentors and its not coincidence that we found each other because our interest on the subject will make a way for us to meet.

I could not completely agree with your words because if one works hard in life and follows one's ideal biography then one can definitely be successful in life. In this case, a mentor may or may not need money.
There are many people who have worked hard all their life and never got time to follow anyone's biography but such hardworking people have become good entrepreneurs and reached the successful ladder in life.
No matter what comes in life, if one practices hard work and self-restraint, he will surely be successful in one way or another. But if there is someone in life who gives guidelines and shows the right path, then that guide can be helpful many times to be successful in one's life.

If you are searching for some guidelines then it will really be that up to you whether you do need some mentor or not but its not really that something needed as you could be able to read up with other experiences on which if you do really just have that kind of behavior on loving on reading up someones experiences then it will really be that giving out that kind of advantage because you could be able to apply it into yourself.
You wont really be needing any mentor if you do really know on what you are doing. If  you are really that setting up some timelines on how you should do thing then it will be that good because you do have a particular target on what are the things that you should gonna do. I also agree with you that I don't completely agree with this. Compared to mentors, I might say more about the motivation that someone has. For example, when someone has a mentor but that person doesn't have motivation, then they will be lazy. While someone who doesn't have a mentor but that person has motivation, then they will do everything to make them successful. Motivation can come from yourself or from others, such as family. Family will usually be the biggest motivation for us to achieve success, this is based on what I have felt so far. The role of the family in fostering motivation is very large, and their support will indeed have a great influence on our life journey.

OP am only quoting your subject; I don't agree that every successful person in life has a mentor, but had it been you used the word ''most'', i would have agreed with you. I have seen a lot of people made it in life and in their businesses without having someone who directs them on what to do and how they ought to do it. Success is a product of creativity and how you are able to manage what you have and what you know such that you don't encounter failure in the process. Success is being followed with determination and some disciplinary measures that guides you to do things the right way so it doesn't necessarily have to involve anyone or anything before you can succeed.

Mentorship is very important for every person in life because it plays critical role in life when we are struggling. Every rich people has a mentor who gave him path to follow. Your nurchring matters a lot and your knowledge also matters because you have to face many things in life if you want to be successful. You need successful entrepreneur and you should learn lessons from him and if you executed well then you will be successful in future and focus also matters a lot in life if you want to be successful.Most of the people are successful due to their business mindset and very less people are successful due to only job mindset.

Having a mentor is really good as it helps to shaping your life and give you focus and directions on life and makes you believe in yourself and they share their experience with the person that they are mentoring, in my opinion any one that wants to go far in life should as a matter of fact have some one that they should look upon as his or her mentor because when the going gets tough you definitely need some one to help you and put you in focus

Having a mentor doesn’t really mean you will be successful in life. Because following in the footsteps of someone else's success might not really work for you, and you will find it hard to understand because you will always wish to do your things as you see that mentor of yours did, whose own success story is different from yours. 
 
Mind you, when you depend on a mentor, all your success will not be more than that of your mentor if not for luck, which means having a mentor can determine the quantity of your success. I don’t know how it feels, but did you realise that sometimes depending on a mentor can make you go astray? Although it might be a different case for other people, for me, I take advice from different people. A mentor can you call a professor at the university then? Because if so I had one who gave me one in a semester, but the truth is I don't consider him very good, for me the best mentors are books, you learn more and you get arguments that can be much more solid, a mentor whoever is lucky enough to have one is good, but I didn't have one like that. I'm not one to read economics books, because it seems to me that the economy is moving faster now and is not meeting the standards that were given to me, but for now the best mentors continue to be books for me despite the fact that at a global level it is moving in an unbridled way with inflation.

You certainly don't need a mentor to make it in life — the only problem with that approach is that it is filled with plenty trials and errors in order to figure out what works and what doesn't work. A mentor is someone that has explored the same path or a similar path and knows what works + what doesn't and can guide you around that proven path.

It's also worth noting that even with a mentor, you still need grit and plenty of hard work in the right places to land opportunities to make it.

There are two things; the first one is a mentor who specifically guides you, gives you tips, teaches you stuff, and tries everything they can to make you successful in what you are into. The second thing is an inspiration, a person, a successful one, who you look up to and have always been inspired by; you try to imitate what they did to reach the position they once achieved through hard work and dedication. This is entirely different from having a mentor, and I'll explain why.

If they get tired and decide to give up, there will be no one to counsel or cheer them up and help them get up and start again.

So generally, it's more difficult to achieve something in life without having someone on your side because it takes more this way than what it takes with a mentor or guide on your side.

If you do struggle then this is the time that you do consider on getting some mentor or something such as these things:

1. Paying up for some mentor and having that 1on1 sessions
2. Trying out to read or watch youtube vids
3. Joining some trading community
4. Watching and reading up on forum with co or fellow traders
5. Learning with others experience neither on success or failure
6. Simply Google

If you are someone who dont have the money or trying out to save up then this would really be the best way on dealing up with things, but if you do have the money on which you could really be able to spend or having that kind of consideration on taking up some mentor then it will really be that up into your choice. There are really that actually those people who cant think up or learn well if there's no one would be teaching them. So it wil lreally be that basing up on someones preference.

For people thinking that they can't be successful without a mentor, have they asked themselves who were the mentors of the first people to succeed. Provided they didn't need a mentor to make it, you too don't need one.

I'm not saying that having a mentor is a bad and if you're lucky to have one that is genuine and wants your progress is a blessing in disguise but when you don't have one you can still succeed by being determined, disciplined and very smart with the things you do.

For me, there is no correct or wrong answer. Having a mentor is not a bad idea. Like the proverbial saying different strokes for different folks. What may work for you may not work for everyone. Some people need a mentor, they need someone who can hold them accountable and help them in their career path or business. For other people, they prefer to work alone and their mentality is built around the concept that they can achieve their goals without having to seek help from a higher authority so to speak.

I wouldn't say this is wrong but this is not applicable in all aspect of life. You can have a mentor and succeed in life and you can have no one and also make your way to the top. Successful life doesn't have a manual, it doesn't have guide that is peculiar in the manner that you want, it is dynamic in the sense that today it's linear and tomorrow it's in curve form but you are the only person strong enough to make your way out of anywhere you find yourself whether you have a mentor or you are just a solo person.

You can choose to be what everyone thinks and make it in life and decide to do the other way and still be successful and you can even choose the two ways and believe me when I say you can't be successful. Let me share you a story, I had a mentor in school that graduated with a first class, he was in final year and I was in first year, I was motivated by the way he was doing his things and always advice me to do this and that and trust me, it didn't work for me. He graduated and I was left in school alone and the second year was 2 times bigger than what I did in my first year. This is why I said life doesn't have a manual.

You can really generalize this. There are successful people out there that made it without a mentor, they simply relied on Their ideas and instincts to scale through life. There's absolutely nothing wrong with having a role model but remember that the people you idolize are also humans like you and they can make mistakes, this is why it's important not to put too much trust in them or expect too much. Personally I believe in learning from your experiences and not just learning but using what you have learnt to move forward and excel. Not every successful person had a mentor, that's a misconception.
