I have been very bullish on other coins which are not obvious. Like Potcoin. I believe Potcoin is going to rule the world of medical marijuana trading in the next few years. Why? Because there is not a dispensory oprator who can get a bank account (because of Operation Chokepoint) and they have to deal in cash, store cash and it's dangerous. Potcoin is an obvious thing and I have mined and bought many... Before this week, Potcoin had been dying a slow death for lack of activity for many months. This week, the developers are implementing new features and modernizing the coin. Now it's taking off. (ETA: Potcoin would have to grow to accommodate up to $8 billion in Market Cap in 4 years to do this, I am not sure it can do it alone!!) When Potcoin came out, there wasn't a new copy-paste scrypt coin coming out every 12 hours. When Québecoin came out, there wasn't a new X11 coming out everyday. I think Québecoin is in the same boat. The pre-mine and distribution model (far away in time) sort of haunts it. Or maybe it also prevents it from being stripped mined, manipulated and dumped. Québecoin can exist as a currency everybody hates but French Canadians love (The Reverse Celine Dion principle (Sorry Céline!!)) because they are in their own cultural bubble that loves self-referral Unpaid people will always move at their own pace! Marie-Lynn I haven't kept track of the pot related coins, although do agree that crypto would make sense for them. But I don't know what advantages a pot-named coin (or features, I should say) they have over say bitcoin, or probably better yet, something like darkcoin or an anonymous coin, may have. The short term risk for quebecoin is simply getting delisted. Bittrex has upped its delisting schedule, by the way, and I believe they plan it weekly now. Quebecoin missed the cut, this week. They have stated a coin needs to be at .1 btc daily for it to make financial sense -- today QBC is at .05 btc. Unless the dev becomes more active, gets the coin on more exchanges, I wouldn't think it very safe.

Copying this article I've stumbled upon, just cause I feel it could related to QBC. JP hasn't once posted/replied to comment on the Québecoin Facebook page. Posted by What Québec Wants™ March 20, 2014
Say something, I’m giving up on you.
How brands interact on Facebook in Québec could cause more harm than good.
Half of French Quebeckers who stopped following a brand or company page on Facebook did so because the brand did not respond to their inquiry.
We asked 3,000 Canadians if they followed brand or company pages on Facebook. Over a third of Canadians in the ROC (35%) and 29% in French Québec say they do.
While relatively fewer in French Québec use Facebook to follow brands, they are significantly more likely to pay attention to brand updates on their newsfeed. 69% in French Québec say they read updates as if it they are from one of their friends compared to only 16% in the rest of Canada. Conversely, only 28% in French Québec briefly skim or skip over updates compared to 79% in the rest of Canada.
French Quebeckers might be more engaged with brands on social media but they’re slightly more likely to stop following brands on Facebook (59% in French Québec compared to 55% in the ROC). There are major and very telling differences in the reasons Facebook users give for having stopped following a brand.
In English Canada, the two main reasons are that the content was not relevant and the brand posted too frequently. In French Québec, the two main reasons are that they stopped liking the brand and they did not get a response to their inquiry - presumably because the brand could not answer promptly in French. One in five French Quebeckers (20%) say they stopped following a brand because the page posted little or no content in their preferred language and 7% say they did not get a response to their inquiry in their preferred language.
Marketers have an opportunity to truly engage on social media with French Quebeckers who will chat with them as if they’re friends. But they need to say something and respond in French or their followers will give up on them.

Almost 10 days since "JP" even bothers to post here. This clown says he's not a scammer but when you market the ANN with how you're going to work on the coin "full time" then not even bother to be active in the thread or reply to Facebook posts, guess what. YOU ARE A SCAMMER.
How's it going working "full time" on the coin?
How's the multipool going?
How's the android wallet going?
How's securing the pre-mine going?
Idiot.

Yeah, I hate to say it, but it does look like a scam. I said people need to be patient, but it's at the point where the dev needs to show something... now... or all that takeover talk is warranted, in my opinion. Even if the dev has somehow been working fulltime on an android wallet + multipool, I'm sure he could simply post here once in a while. Either it's a scam or the dev has a different sense of time than the rest of the world does.

The volume on Bittrex is .03 BTC and I doubt if its going to cross the weekly average of .1 BTC required for not getting delisted there. Delisting is imminent. A chain reaction will happen and panic sells on the other smaller exchanges will drive it down to 1 sat and eventual death.
Circonference and Lemayilleur, you both have been the strongest supporters of this coin so far with almost religious faith in JP's resurrection. It doesnt matter if he comes back or not. The "multipool" he's working on will not be able to use Bittrex's API. The Android wallet we all know is worth squat. we can all hold hands and wait... or we can take action. Can you take over the coin and lead it? I believe with enough donations from the community, a dev can be hired to fork the coin to invalidate the premine and save it. The people at Bittrex are sensible people and will halt the delisting if they are made aware that the coin is getting revamped with new management. They would rather freeze trading temporarily than delisting and relisting the same coin... its just less work for them like that.
Too many people lost money and time in this scam. It would be a shame to not make atleast some of it back.

Is the coin even on any smaller exchanges? To the best of my knowledge, I thought Bittrex was it. I do think bittrex uses other factors besides just volume, including age of the coin, in regard to delisting. But in Quebecoin's case, those other factors, like a missing dev, probably won't work in its favor.

If this is a doomed coin, why is net hashrate so high ? Difficulty is at 47. Somebody didn't get the memo. Maybe somebody is preparing a re-launch that will make that 21 000 000 coins pre-mine un-spendable. They would be strip mining it right now while everybody is abandoning ship.
Just a theory. I also have one about a magic bullet in 1963.

Must be a bug or something.... its 39 right now, which is a ridiculous amount for the 0.5 GH net hash rate. I'm not sure how the difficulty thingy works, but if it takes into accout the number of coins mined, then it does make sense.... technically Half the coins are mined by miners and the coins are supposed to be more difficult to procure right? Anyone who knows their stuff can correct me.
