I believe that (unfortunately) a lot of people don't stop until it's too late. Not enough is being done to raise awareness of the effects of gambling abuse.

People risk it for the possibility of winning. Desperation. Thrill. Irresponsibility. I've never heard of people relaxing by gambling, it sounds like a fallacy. Procrastinating with gambling, I could definitely see that being a problem (especially given its accessibility online nowadays). Entertainment is a lame excuse, problematic gambling can't possibly come from entertainment unless money is just being purposefully wasted.

When emotionally unstable, you shouldn't risk a lot, even during that time. I have thought of mentioning this post here. Whoever finds it useful should read it.

I think it's best just to not gamble at all, no matter what state of mind. That is the best idea imho.

But at getting a payable job it helps reduces their heavy dependence on making money through gambling which could in the pipeline lead to their stopping to gamble since they now have a good job which earn them good money or they either limit the way the use to gamble and that's where the word control sets in.

Unemployment have been the major cause of the rise why many youths get involved in gambling now, even those that criticized gambling in the past have now entered into gambling activities and apart from unemployment, another reason why more people have been involved in gambling is because due to inflation, the money they earn is no longer enough to meet up with their daily demands which now led them to looking for a means of making more money thereby they find gambling as a platform they can make money from without even considering how much they could risk before they can win from gambling.
         Having a job gets people distracted from involving in gambling activities but it doesn't stop people from gambling because a lot of people wish for where they can make quick wealth which makes them feel they can get lucky to make a lot of money from gambling. The truth is just that people can limit the time or money they spend in gambling, but it is difficult for majority of gamblers to quit gambling due to the mentality that they can get quick rich from it even when they know that gambling is also capable of wrecking someone who do not gamble responsibly.

You could read all the stories that you want, all the success in beating the addiction etc but it's still up to the actual person to how they are going to be handling his habits. If he manage to really pull it of, it's going to be a proud moment, but if not, it's a different case then. I do believe that it's still with the will of the person as to how much he knows it's bad for him and then accepting that and proceeding to do something about it.

It's definitely breaking the cycle, which is what's important in stopping problematic addictions.

It takes more than reading articles online or books to actually stop gambling, there are people who have actually gone through therapy but they still find themselves gambling, this is actually an addiction or dependency issue, some do it as an escape from reality. Gambling for fun is actually the best mentality to have otherwise it can become an addiction along the line, people who mostly get addicted are people who try to make it a source of income. No one with this mindset can become successful with gambling because they get desperate and this is an emotional imbalance that can lead to irrational decisions. The best way to stop gambling is by having self control no one do that for you, it's a personal discipline.

I don't recommend gambling when you are emotionally unstable; you cannot think properly, you do not know how to stop, and there is no sound logic in all your actions. You should only gamble if you are on a stable mind.

Of course, there might be some stories, but how many lives is it going to affect compare to the actual number of addicts that we have in reality. How many of these gamblers even read blog post?, Maybe few. Though, I appreciate whoever takes his/her time to write out something concerning gambling safe and responsibility, but there are more people who need more awareness, maybe via TVs(course it's even more common)?.

Truth is, I don't see gambling as something bad. It is never a crime(in majority of the countries in the world as I believe), but when a gambler is now being affected either emotionally, psychologically, mentally, or even financially, then it becomes a problem to that person. And this is why I always urge people to identify when they are acting different or unusual, because most irresponsible gamblers fails to identify or notice when something is not going right with them.

So, my only idea is that as individuals, we should just learn to identify when we are doing something that isn't just right. Because this is the problem that most gamblers have. Being addicted is like 50% of the problem, while knowing that you are addicted is like the other 50%.

Yes that are some reasons for other elderly go to casino. Relax themselves and to make their brain got some activity. Gambling to distract yourself is totally a bad idea especially if you keep on doing this constantly, once you get used to this lifestyle you might find it difficult to stop... Gambling must be for entertainment purposes only and shouldn't be done everytime... from my experience I don't think gambling can be stopped easily, it can first of all be reduced and one way to do this is by getting involved in other things that take up your time, it would be more better if these distractions are things that can fetch you money...if the time you spend gambling is reduced you'd begin to lose interest slowly till, that's the best approach to it.

Even if the government provides more job opportunities to her citizens, it may not change some persons from engaging in gambling activities, just like i said that some people choose to gamble in order to have a chance of maximize their incomes in case they win from gambling.

You are right that gambling cannot save those who feels that their income is not enough to carter for their needs but you can't control how people want to go about their life and money and you need to understand that there are people who just want to make this money so easily without putting much efforts, if we are to tell the truth about gambling, if not that winning is not that easily, it could have been an easy way to make enough money without much efforts and there are some people that also tried gambling and they made some good amount of money and used it to invest in other businesses that are generating income for them.

Actually those advice doesn't make you be a successful gambler but are only telling you what to do to reduce any serious lost, but if you listen to there wealth stories you might be thinking that immediately you execute there pattern you will start wining a lot but in reality you are back from the beginning, however I have not seen someone who listen to their articles and stop gambling because of the money they won, not that people who listen to those articles does not use to win but not because of them, as the Matter of fact listing to them can even cause you more losing, so just read their effect and leave the betting articles for them.

It also depends what we would be distracting ourselves from, though. And to what extent we use gambling to be a distraction.
For example, it is not the same gambling after having an stressful day or work than gambling for the sake of not trying to think about working or being productive members of society.
A distraction from problems is not the same as an escape from problems, and it is quite obvious gambling is no supposed to be an escape from anything, just a controled distraction, in the same way other people distract themselves with Tv shows, sports or even videogames.
I have never had problems with gambling myself, but I have gotten hooked up to casino games during gambling sessions and I do not under-estimate how difficult killing just a bad habit can be.

One thing I know for sure that gamblers should imbibe while gambling is discipline. If one is disciplined, they  could be able to control themselves from gambling excess or gamble within their budget.

However, I had to scan through your website to see for myself testimonials of people who were addicted gamblers but couldn't find any. It would, be nice if you were able to get testimonials of people who were gamblers to say how they were able to beat the gambling addiction, that would be very much helpful because people would also want to learn from them and apply such measures to their gambling lifestyle.

You got that right. People should gamble only to get relaxed. They shouldn’t get obsessed with making money from gambling. If they could just follow this one rule, they would never ever become addicts. That’s what responsible gambling is all about too. It is a one sentence rule book: Play to feel better, don’t get obsessed with winning.

I always usually notice that people who want to get rich from gambling almost always end up in a worse position than they used to eventually. It is because for some reason they don’t want to admit that the games are mathematically have advantage over the players.

One is that they're already tired, and they understand that they will never win against the house. That's why they're stopping gambling and spending their money on something they will benefit more from.

Next, when a gambler wins a lot. While it's hard to control greed and hard to cash out when emotions are high, there are still a lot of gamblers who are disciplined.

Lastly, when things get worse and they do unnecessary things just for the sake of gambling. Family is being affected by it and due to that, relationships are destroyed so they end up changing themselves by stopping.

Yes, it becomes regular habit even after you find yourself winning more, being disciplined is the key here, same happens in trading, people blow up their accounts, just like they do gambling.

I like that and that's true. Awareness that with gambling there's a limit for everything. Limit of winning, limit of being lucky, and limit in losing too.

There is no one or two formulas one can use to stop gambling because we are not all the same; some just realized they have to stop; some need professional help, but all the other ways point out that there is a cure for gambling and its customized for everyone.

Reading or knowing about certain rules and regulations does not justify the ability to comply with them or follow them.
Second, gambling profitably is different from stopping it and if a gambler plays the game profitably I don't see any reason s/he have to stop if does not involve something important.

Based on experience. The only way I know anyone can stop or control their gambling habit is by taking a break from the game but if that doesn't work I will suggest seeking professional help.

Stories are like advice, most times we don't learn anything from all of that, and the best lesson only comes from the one we learned from our own experience if you haven't experienced the ugly incidents in gambling, no matter how you read about others that made such mistakes and hard such bad experiences you will not take it seriously as a lesson like the way you take the one that happens to you as a person, so individual involvement is the key factors that determine anything either good or bad, if you want to fight gambling addiction, it has to come from individual conviction and determination, and also if you want to protect yourself from getting addicted in the first place it still depends on you.
