How to practice emotional control in gambling?

I can't say with certainty that I can control my emotions, especially since it's easy to plan to control them, but it's really hard to actually control and refrain from them. I have lost money by participating in gambling many times and have tried to control myself from gambling many times. Although I was able to abstain for a while, at some point I could not control myself completely. I may not have complete control now, but I have been able to control myself to some extent when it comes to betting on gambling and losing money like before.

Control can be in not betting more than you can lose in one day of play, although I think that such a loss will still affect my emotional state, but stopping would already mean controlling the situation.
