If you have good enough skills but don't have any formal certifications, then no matter how much skill you acquire, your job evaluation will be low. To be successful in your life, you need to acquire both types of education, that is, in addition to earning your institutional certificate, you need to acquire skills. That is, first you go to school, then you acquire skills. Both skills and school are important, but it is not easy to achieve success with one without the other.

Both are very important because if you want to work formally in a company or an industry, the requirement is that you have a diploma from school or college, and skills to make working easier.
Unless you are self-employed or run your own business, a diploma is not that important because when you earn money independently, what is prioritized and possessed is the skill in entrepreneurship according to the business field you are engaged in, and the diploma becomes completely unimportant. But you still need to go to school for socializing, communication skills, and building networking. Because in business, developing networking is very important, and hopefully, you can become an investor or a consumer who buys the products and services.

Exactly, both are equally important. Especially if you cannot start your own business, a degree is even more important if you want a good job and high income.

Another interesting thing is that you can start a business without a degree, but when you are in the position of a business owner and hiring employees. You will always prefer candidates with degrees over those with skills but no degrees for important positions in the company. This is the stark truth and shows the importance of degrees. Degrees are not useless as many uneducated people are spreading.

Someone who has attended college and earned a degree can command greater respect, especially if they find a job that aligns with their degree. I believe those with degrees certainly possess skills relevant to their field. It would be ridiculous to have a degree if their skills were zero.

You're right; starting a business doesn't require a degree. Furthermore, many people have been successful in business without degrees. However, in this case, it's skills that contribute to their success. So, don't feel like you don't have a chance of success without a degree. Having a degree doesn't guarantee success, but it can help you find a more suitable job.

To be educated is very good and that will make you have many connections that can lead to a good job and skills is also good, because they have many business and investors that not educated but they have skills that is bringing them much money to add in there business and they always be profitable. In our country they is not alot of job opportunities but they have many youth that don't depend on job anymore they into business and all they are profitable without struggling again, education give you knowledge and skills give you much experience so both works together but anyone have is own works. Education make people know you alot and be given good quality result on all what you are doing and you will be much high then uneducated person that only have skills, but when he comes to skills if you don't have experience about it you will always find it difficult to understand.
I think both education and skills are necessary but they do not work the same way in everyone's life, some people get good connections and job opportunities by studying, while some people succeed in business with their skills without degree. Job opportunities are really few in our country so many of the young people are no longer looking only at jobs, they either start their own business or freelancing and earn good income from there.

However I think education provides the base, It teaches you to think helps you to understand new things and allows you to see the big picture about your work and skills give you the strength to put that knowledge into practise. So when the two are together people can stand in a stronger position. If you possess skills only you can proceed with experience but if you have an education the way is easier.

If we only have skills, we still have a chance to get a job, but that kind of job can only feed us and not give us much more. If we want more than that like promotion and holding high position, salary increase, expanding network of relationships, degree is necessary. If we only have skills, stop thinking about promotion or career expansion.

Degrees and skills have now become the standard of the modern labor market. If we lack one of these two factors, we will almost certainly encounter many limitations and disadvantages when competing in the job search process. So try to have both instead of just choosing one or the other as many ignorant people are still preaching. Both are very important.

While it is indeed beneficial to begin your career with skills, today's economy makes it necessary to be equipped with other credentials in order to better ourselves professionally. The most common credential that opens up new doors/modalities to promotions, salary increases, and increasing levels of responsibility is the academic degree; however, these opportunities are created because of the skills developed during education, as well as through on-the-job experience.

Yes, I personally agree that these skills are more important than their own. As I said before, it's useless to have a degree but lack the relevant skills in your field. This can happen because nowadays, even degrees can be bought.

I think a high income can give us a different level of respect. I'm sure you've felt that when you have a high income and your friends or family know you have a high income, they respect you more.

On the contrary, I think that degree is more important. Because to get a degree, you need to spend a lot of time, effort and go through a rigorous and systematic training process. Meanwhile, possessing skills does not require such a long process. Many skills can be learned quickly, with even basic skills being mastered in just a few weeks or months.

It won't take long for someone with a degree to acquire skills because they already have the background knowledge. But I don't think it's easy for a skilled person to get a degree. That is why, despite the many stories circulating on the internet that degrees are no longer important, employers prioritize skills more. But in reality, employers still give priority to people with degrees.

I bet anyone who has ever applied for a job knows this.

When it comes to starting a business, you need more than just skills. How can you start a business without money, connections, a clear plan, a strategy...?

I agree with you in this point, the both are very important to some extent the education is not a waste and the skills is also not a waste at a point, one of my brother was once a victim of both, he was just like a person that brought up in village and living his life the way he likes, he doesn't care about the school since he's a farmer, but you know there are some hard works that you can't continue doing it for long, since the age is counting, so one of the elderly brother was given a slot from thier company and he gave him, so could you believe he was discolify because of lack of not securing either Diploma or Degree and no any skills ideas, in essence there are many parastatas that either require or ask you for your qualification, talents or skills before they employ you.

Additionally, your education works for you in cryptocurrency space together with experience and ideas, an illiterate cannot understand all anything about cryptocurrency since he/she didn't have any ideas, though some can read and write but to get the concept of cryptocurrency would be hard,so education is important and the skill is also important.

Traditional education is not enough for a person who want to be successful in a real life because people want to be a so called educated person but they need to learn more about how to operate anything in life and learning of technology is necessary if person want to be rich in a time . People are making money by giving tuition which is not bad but they should be expert in anything to which they choose to be . There are many fields to which we can adopt but if we will take technical education then it will be best for us because many people need that kind of work and many industries need that kind of person who can do well . Skillful people are need of society because these will work and will support people when they have problem.

I think the degree we get from school gives us jobs but skills are needed to build a career. There are many of us who are joining the workforce with degrees, but due to lack of skills while working, they are not able to move up. Because school education like text books and courses are updated very slowly. On the other hand, business technology and communication are all changing rapidly. So the recruitment officer should give equal importance to both degrees and skills.

@OP it's simple.

Supply > Demand.

What I mean is, in the past we're in hard time, where many people not have enough money to eat. Not many people also can school due to limited resource and harder to finish since they have many criteria.

Now, school don't give a fuck how stupid the student is, if the parents willing to pay for x amount, the teacher will manipulate the scores/grades. Not to mention school also do it for their own achievement, achievement to be a school with 100% guarantee all students will finish at the right time.

So, there are many stupid students graduated and not qualified for high skill jobs.
While I might agree with you , I would also say this to say this... It's not every school and not every teacher that does hook or crook. Some schools really provide the atmosphere for students to acquire these high skills you speak about. Some students nowadays are not really interested in learning anything. these days what they are thinking about is fast money , fast cash.
So sometimes it will now look as if the school or the teacher is not trying their best. Meanwhile some students are the one thwarting their efforts.

In all of these , what I would say is this; the importance of both cannot be overemphasized. After going to school to obtain certificate, your skill is also necessity. You need the certificate as a first prerequisite to apply for the job. You also need skills to do your  job effectively. Without your skills and experience , some employers will tell you that you are carrying a flying certificate about.
The recent trend boils down to the fact that  the integrity of  paper qualification has declined over the years. About 70%  of nowadays  students are in school because of just the certificate.
One thing i will keep advising young graduates is that while going to school, attending classes also attend skill driven seminars. Everyday must not be for classes.

It is true.
There are great skilled workers but since they don't have good communication skills, the others who are able to pass interview with basic communication passes.
But I think that many companies look at how skillful they are and are putting the communications in the second priority after the skills.
Although as someone who wants to be future proof and competitive, education is needed and it's something you'll be thankful forever that you'll bring always.

Formal education is highly important alongside with your skills. If you have good skill without formal education, how do you communicate that your skills to your employers if you are to work for a company. Formal education helps with good communication which can attract great connection to influential people. With only skill, no matter how good you are, you mostly work as just ordinary worker. The educated skills (even with little skill) man collect the contract from the rich people and still call you to work on it with little pay.

Not everyone who has a degree and goes to school has skills, I can argue against that because I have seen it several times firsthand, In my opinion skills come from experience, although legality or a degree is indeed very important to be able to get a job.

I agree with you, just by studying in a degree or school, there is no guarantee that a person will become skilled. Educational institutions mainly provide book education and certificates, but real work pressure, problem solving and decision-making ability comes mainly through experience. That is why it is important to have real experience, real experience is the most effective thing, which educates people in a very deep way, and when you can actually achieve everything, only then will society respect you, but if you only have a certificate, but no results, then your certificate is worth zero.

It's important people get the basic formal education, you can't win in other aspect of life if you don't have a formal education to some certain level. You can have the money but if you lack the way to communicate with people and understand how things are run outside your league, you will learn very hard to cope with things that are happening around you, to be able to make your self blend into what others are doing it's going to be hard except if you want to limit yourself to your cycle.

By the way, every rich person want to improve their ways and the only way is to make sure you can compete at the highest level. Imagine been a professional mechanic without basic education, the experience and skills is there and you want to work with high professionals, even if they will like to consider you because of the experience you have since that's the main prerequisite, if you lack to the basic education they will not hire you because they will see you as non technician.

That's the importance of education, you don't necessarily need to acquire a degree to amplify your skills, the most important thing is to obtain formal education, that means you should be able to speak fluently and also be able to read and write. if you have skills and lack the ability to communicate fluently it might affect the services you render. school helps you learn how to interact and also other basic things needed for you to be successful in your business or skills you have. Formal education is very important and  shouldn't be skipped
Neither is unnecessary, both are equally important, that's why we have to achieve both, only then we will be able to achieve complete maturity and will not be weak in any area. Never give a chance to weakness, keep trying to achieve as much as you can and also give importance to skills, by giving equal importance to both, when we can achieve both completely, then we will be able to complete it correctly by using knowledge and skills equally in all areas, which will be more correct than others, due to which you will get the most importance.

Both are essential, especially basic education, as it significantly determines the development of mindsets and determines future direction. Regular school education is increasingly lagging behind vocational schools, which can develop skills for students. It's no surprise, then, that vocational school graduates find employment more quickly. Furthermore, discipline and the ability to innovate will also be more valuable to large companies and will even secure a secure future with the potential for substantial income and bonuses.
