CgminerMonitor.com - cloud monitor for all your miners!

CgminerMonitor enables you to easily monitor your miners. No ports forwarding, no Apache Server installation or any python scripts.

How does it work?
Your miner runs our client program (CgminerMonitorClient, see the source at GitHub) that sends statistics to our servers. Statistics are sent in various intervals: 20-30 s for cgminer data and 9-11min for hardware data.
Once on our servers, we save your data into the database and aggregate the statistics for beautiful, visual analysis.
To check the status of your miner, just visit our website and look at graphs.

Features
  • Web interface, mobile friendly
  • No installation, client open-sourced
  • 'Miner is down' email notifications
  • Beautiful graphs
  • Free
  • Works on almost anything: Windows, Linux (OpenSUSE, Ubuntu, BAMT, PiMP, CryptoSlax, MinePeon - Raspberry PI and more...), Mac OS X
  • Stable, no downtime, already used for over a month by many workers Reddit link

Screenshots

Install HOWTO

Planned Features
  • Control your miner from web interface - if you will allow, of course
  • Temps notifications
  • Wallet statistics

There are no limits for hash method. There are already users with SHA256, scrypt, skein, nscrypt.

A very beautiful website, i want try it, by the way, is there any fee for using?
Thanks, there are no fees. All current functionality WILL remain FREE. There will be more sophisticated features in the future, for a small fee.

Great! Could you tell us where was the problem to avoid it in the future?
Depends what OS you use on Ras Pi. I did a quick research and it looks like it should be working. Please let me know if it works!

This is brilliant. Been using for 24 hours and has worked great, and has told me when a miner went down. Just the utility i've been looking for!

Edit: Good idea to setup the client on auto-start, Cgwatcher occasionally reboots my machine when a card goes down

what about adding a public option
I have 3 rigs rented out and it would be nice to have this totally read only option
so that you could let who every has rented your rig out to see whats going on.

Is that something you would be able to add.

Thanks everyone for positive input! It's crucial to have satisfied users!

I remember about the utility, sorry to keep you waiting so long. Soon (in a week or two) I will be working full-time on this project and I hope everything will move faster.

Edit: Good idea to setup the client on auto-start, Cgwatcher occasionally reboots my machine when a card goes down
That should be easy, just follow Tips&Tricks on the bottom of this page: http://cgminermonitor.com/GetStarted

For now, web app is designed to look good on desktop, mobile or tablet. Unfortunately, Android App isn't in short-term plans.

I remember about that too. Taking this opportunity I would ask you, if link per worker would be ok?

Hi
yes that would be very good.
How long before you  will be able to do this ?

What are your plans for charging for this ?

I will try to do this within a week and I won't charge anything for this. Upgrade for pro account (controlling miner from web, advanced notifications, more than X miners) in the future will be paid. I was thinking about fee equal to 2% of earnings but that seems to be too high. What do you think about a fee equal to (1MH/s earnings * 2%)/worker? That would cost something like 0,1LTC/month/worker, which seems to be cheap.

Sorting out what to charge is not easy as you don't want to be to cheap or to expensive.
don't think donations are the way to go either.
you could do it as a one of charge or per month but then that has issues as well.

How do you upgrade to pro account ?

How do you upgrade to pro account ?

This will be as easy as possible. Pay indicated amount of BTC to your address and your account will upgrade automatically.
Why BTC? Because there is no easy "forward founds" REST API for LTC. To my knowledge, such API is provided only by blockchain.

ok but there are other services that offer taking payment with other coins
have alook at this site
https://www.coinpayments.net/

i have used it a few times with out any problems and it will be better for script miners
as they might not have BTC to pay but they will have other coins.

Hey!

I love the idea! I am currently using it as a live stat for my rig at BETArigs.com!

I really want to make my site public, is there any way I can make my dashboard open for the public? Just the dashboard, so people can see which miners are online and hashing at which rate?

Would love that!

Hope to hear from you!

Thanks guys for your input. To sum up, there should be possibility to:
-share only dashboard for only one worker
-share all statistics of one worker
-share only dashboard for all workers

Is this correct?

Is there any way to run the client on one machine, and have it connect to cgminer on another?  (( Miners are all running thru a stratum proxy and don't have direct access to the internet ))

Yes, I do realize this will make it unable to get machine stats and only get cgminer API info.. I'm good with that.

thanks,
Sigg

Edit:  Thinking about it some more... having the ability for a single client to monitor multiple cgminer instances on multiple machines would be really sweet Smiley

What do you think about possibility to specify miner's IP in config? You would be able to run multiple instances of CgminerMonitorClient by specyfing different config files. Proof of concept script for monitoring multiple miners would look like this:

Code:
screen -r miner1 -dm CgminerMonitorClientX64Linux -configFile=miner1.config
screen -r miner2 -dm CgminerMonitorClientX64Linux -configFile=miner2.config
screen -r miner3 -dm CgminerMonitorClientX64Linux -configFile=miner3.config

However, some future features might not work in remote mode.

Hey again! Now it's confirmed - it's working on Raspberry PI! However, you have to compile it from source - which is extremely simple. Just follow the instructions here: http://cgminermonitor.com/GetStarted -> Install HOWTO -> Compile from source

@Dophoeve, @pjcltd and others: share feature is done!
You can share your whole dashboard or just dashboard of one miner. For example, here are my private miners: http://cgminermonitor.com/Shared/da5cbaed907a425fb56be08f8a5daa0b0

Full share of one miner is still under development - due to some problems it will be available much later...
Hope that dashboard share is good for now Smiley

Code:
./CgminerMonitorClientX64Linux -dumpFile=blademinerissue
then the file blademinerissue should be created.

It would be good to be able to change the pool a miner is on and be able to see if the pool is alive...
not sure if you can do that ?

also if you can then be able to add all the miners or select miners from a list to add the pool to

I'd really like to get CgminerMonitor going but when I run the client on my system I get these error messages:

Code:
'StatHardware' worker is not available on UNIX platform.
'StatHardware' worker is not available.

Can you tell me what's causing this and how to fix it, please?

Thanks!

Hello Chris,

that shouldn't interfere with normal CgminerMonitor usage. All what this means is that your machine won't send hardware statistics, like CPU/Memory/Disc usage (it is hard to collect that data on UNIX/Linux OS). Cgminer monitoring is different thing and should be working fine. You should get email notifications as well as cgminer statistics (hash rate, GPU temperatures/fan speed, etc.).

pjcltd, I have bad and good news. Bad news is that there will be one week delay in next update. Sorry for that... However, the good news is that I have full list of planned features:
  • remotely manage worker: reboot and shutdown
  • remotely manage cgminer process: start, stop, restart
  • read/write cgminer config
  • remotely manage cgminer: add pool, delete pool, change pool
  • to keep your miners secure, all control features MUST be enabled on worker.

I keep in mind your request about sending commands to multiple workers at once as well as pool monitoring, however I am not sure if/how this will be possible. What do you think?

Nope.  CgminerMonitor has been running for quite awhile and nothing is appearing in the dashboard.  I have this in the cgminer.conf file:

Code:
"api-listen" : true,
"api-allow" : "W:127.0.0.1",
"api-port" : 4028,

But still nothing in the dashboard.  Here's what I get when I run CgminerMonitor:

Code:

That's a nice program to keep track of all your cgminers running.
I will download and give it a try.
But how many cgminers can it trak at the same time?

One CgminerMonitorClient can track one cgminer, running on local machine. If we are talking per account limit, it is set to 100 workers (at this point there arise problems with web browsers responsibility). Globally there is no limit.

Then the whole thing repeats itself.

Thanks for your help!  I'm sure I'm just doing something dumb/newbie.  Wink

Thanks for more information. It seems that your client can get information from cgminer, however you cannot send those stats to our server. Let me quote FAQ:
Quote
Please run the client with -v flag (verbose) - it will print more information what's happening. You can also check connectivity with us using -t flag (troubleshooter). At the end, try running the client with -c flag (use curl for sending data).

I ran it with the "-t" parameter and got this:

It seems the POST request is timing out.  Any idea why or how to fix?

POST request made with curl also failed? There are some rare cases, when people get timeouts when making POST request through Mono (it's a known bug, but I haven't found any solutions). However, you should be able to use workaround - make POST requests with curl. Just run the client with -c flag.

Almost there! Can you tell me what is your environment? Which linux do you use + which libcurl version do you have (run curl --version in terminal)?
It's a 32-bit laptop.  Here's what I get when I run uname -a:

Linux aspire-netbook 3.11.0-20-generic #35~precise1-Ubuntu SMP Fri May 2 21:35:48 UTC 2014 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

And here what I get when I run curl --version:

Code:
curl 7.34.0 (i686-pc-linux-gnu) libcurl/7.22.0 OpenSSL/1.0.1 zlib/1.2.3.4 libidn/1.23 librtmp/2.3
Protocols: dict file ftp ftps gopher http https imap imaps ldap pop3 pop3s rtmp rtsp smtp smtps telnet tftp
Features: GSS-Negotiate IDN IPv6 Largefile NTLM NTLM_WB SSL libz TLS-SRP

Thank you SO much for your help!  I'm *really* looking forward to getting it going!

Chris, I've installed your Ubuntu version on VM and after installing curl (with sudo apt-get install curl) CgminerMonitorClient works perfectly fine.
However, I might know what is going on. After running curl --version I get information that I have curl 7.22.0 with libcurl 7.22.0. Googling around I got information that curl and libcurl should have the same version. In your case curl version is 7.34.0 and libcurl is 7.22.0.
Some people reported, that curl in this situation won't work at all. Could you try running
Code:
curl --url https://bitcointalk.org
to confirm this?

Here is the thread which I found helpful: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/11678085/curl-48-an-unknown-option-was-passed-in-to-libcurl
Personally, I would try
Code:
apt-get --reinstall install curl
solution.

WOOT!!!  Problem fixed!   Grin

What was happening was I had two versions of curl running, one in /usr/bin and the other in /usr/local/bin.  The one in /usr/local/bin was the one with the version mismatch between curl and libcurl and /usr/local/bin was first in the $PATH$ so I removed that program.  Now, when I run CgminerMonitor using the "-c" parameter it works just fine.

Thanks SO much for your help!  Without your help I would've never gotten it running!

Hey I just started using Cgminermontior and it works great!  Very easy to setup and provides a wealth of information.  I would like to donate some btc your way to encourage further development and upkeep but I cant find an address to send it to.  Can you please provide one for me (and maybe others) to send donations to?

Thanks for all your hard work!

Hey darkesperx, Thanks for thumbs up! I am really glad you like it!
I haven't posted any donation address because in future I want to introduce paid features, therefore people could feel cheated.
However, if you still want to donate, here is the BTC address: 1HDC1qfjTiM2Ef3kMjivRFXyLbjmatZHtB. Many thanks in advance Wink

Hi,

I've been using CgminerMonitor with my Windows 8.1 miners and really like it.

I've just acquired some Antminer S1s and was wondering if anyone has CgminerMonitor working with these?

Running CgminerMonitor on MinePeon isn't hard - in fact, there is already someone who made this. Instructions are here: http://cgminermonitor.com/GetStarted - find "Install HOWTO" section and click "Compile from source (e.g. Raspberry Pi)" tab. Please let me know if you will meet any problems.

PS. coinme.info, so far - no response from Bitmain tech.

I just finished getting CgminerMonitor running on my Raspberry Pi that's controlling 3 gridseeds and 5 GAWMiners furys.  Looks great, although there is a display problem with the chart for CrazyCanuck Rig #2A for some reason:

http://tinyurl.com/CrazyCanuck

Any ideas how to fix that minor glitch?

Thanks!

Btw, I gotta say it...

The support I've received for CgminerMonitor has been excellent so far!  I'm low-income so I can't afford much, but I'm sending a little bitcoin token of my appreciation.

Thanks, again!

A couple of questions about setting up for remote control...

1.  How do you determine the value for   "CgminerProcessName" in the config file?  I've tried various combinations of ps and can't find a process name.

2.  Am I right in assuming that "CgminerStartCmd" is the full command line (including "screen -dmS" and any command line switches to run cgminer?

3.  "WorkerRebootCmd" and "WorkerShutdownCmd" look like they reboot/shutdown the computer so if you're controlling more than 1 rig on that computer it's going to reboot/shutdown everything.  Right?

Thanks for your help.  I've kinda-sort-maybe got it configured right but this will get me the rest of the way.

A couple of questions about setting up for remote control...
1.  How do you determine the value for   "CgminerProcessName" in the config file?  I've tried various combinations of ps and can't find a process name.
In windows this will probably be cgminer.exe/sgminer.exe/something.exe (you can use task manager to determine that).
Under linux, use
Code:
ps -A
or
Code:
sudo ps -A
You can filter that using grep. For example:
Code:
ps -A | grep miner
. The result should be something like: cgminer/sgminer/vertminer

2.  Am I right in assuming that "CgminerStartCmd" is the full command line (including "screen -dmS" and any command line switches to run cgminer?
Yes, the client only executes that, and checks 15 seconds afterwards if the process was started.

3.  "WorkerRebootCmd" and "WorkerShutdownCmd" look like they reboot/shutdown the computer so if you're controlling more than 1 rig on that computer it's going to reboot/shutdown everything.  Right?
The idea is that one CgminerMonitorClient is monitoring one rig/worker. Therefore sending that command to one worker will result in reboot/shutting down only this computer. Under http://cgminermonitor.com/WorkerRemoteControl/Manage you can choose to send command to one or more workers.

Thanks for your help.  I've kinda-sort-maybe got it configured right but this will get me the rest of the way.
No problem, do you have any idea how to improve the website or client instructions, to make it more unambiguous?

Thanks for the clarification.  The website and client instructions were fairly clear, but I wanted to confirm how I was interpreting things.

In my case I'm using 1 Raspberry Pi to manage 6 rigs - one Gridseed rig and 5 GAWMiner Fury rigs - so I'm running 6 instances of the client.  When I do "ps -A | grep miner" I get this output:

 1206 pts/0    00:00:05 cgminer01
 1212 pts/1    00:00:03 cgminer01
 1218 pts/2    00:00:03 cgminer01
 1227 pts/3    00:00:03 cgminer01
 1998 pts/5    00:00:26 cgminer-gridsee
 2176 pts/7    00:00:29 CgminerMonitorC
 2184 pts/9    00:00:28 CgminerMonitorC
 2191 pts/10   00:00:28 CgminerMonitorC
 2199 pts/11   00:00:28 CgminerMonitorC
 2205 pts/12   00:00:30 CgminerMonitorC
 2355 pts/6    00:00:27 CgminerMonitorC
 2497 pts/13   00:00:01 cgminer01

The lines that say "cgminer01" is a version of cgminer for running the Furys, and the line that says "cgminer-gridsee" is of course the gridseed rig.  So, what I need is to be able to differentiate which cgminer is for which rig when I'm using  the cgminer start, stop and restart features.  When the computer boots, the bash script I've created does this based on the config file name (each rig has a different config file, for instance cgminer-gridseed.conf).  Can I do this in my config file for CgminerMonitor client?  If so, how?

Btw, I can live with the "WorkerRebootCmd" and "WorkerShutdownCmd" functions rebooting the computer and all six rigs...  I just gotta remember that that's what it does.  Wink

Thanks for your help...

Chris

Btw, there's one other remote control feature that would be very handy...  resetting the statistics for a miner.  Sometimes, when there's a problem with a rig I tinker with various settings and then I reset the stats by hitting "D" and then "Z" to see if the changes have effected anything.  Sure, I could stop/restart the rig and the stats would reset, but that interrupts the mining for a minute or two so just resetting the stats is quicker/easier.

Can that feature be added in a future release?

Thanks!

The best solution would be to change cgminer01 process name for each rig. You can just create multiple copies of cgminer with different name making the process name different. E.g. cgminer01, cgminer02, cgminer03 which would be run by your scripts. Then just specify appropriate name in CgminerMonitorClient config (or change CgminerProcessName and CgminerKillCmd parameters).

As far as I can see on this site: https://github.com/ckolivas/cgminer/blob/master/API-README
Cgminer doesn't allow to do that by API... Therefore I am afraid I can't deliver that feature for you.

Yeah, I thought of that last night.  It means having to rework my scripts a bit, but that should do it.  Thanks!

Too bad cuz that would be *really* cool!  Thanks for checking, though.

Hello coinme.info, I've just sent a request for info to Bitmain technologies, I'll get back to you with additional information from them.

Sounds good. Looking forward to seeing CgminerMonitor working on the Antminer S1!
I've just received response, that Bitmain miners support cgminer API. Can you tell me if Antminer is visible under 127.0.0.1 or it has own IP address? In that case, I will introduce another config parameter and everything should be ok.
Could you check that please? Unfortunately I don't have any Antminers... so I have no idea how it looks like.

Could someone post a config file for version 0.0.7.0 please?  I had to re-install everything and lost my configs, and now I'm not completely sure what each parameter means and what should go in them.

Thanks.

P.S.  Maybe you could update the config.md file in the doc directory for the next release too?

I've added 'select all'/'deselect all' options on http://cgminermonitor.com/WorkerRemoteControl/Manage page. Hope you will like it.

I just finished getting CgminerMonitor running on my Raspberry Pi that's controlling 3 gridseeds and 5 GAWMiners furys.  Looks great, although there is a display problem with the chart for CrazyCanuck Rig #2A for some reason:

Any ideas how to fix that minor glitch?

  "CgminerPort": 4028,
  "WorkerApiKey": "2ef2ef2ef2ef2ef2ef2ef2ef2ef2ef2e",
  "CgminerProcessName": "cgminer",
  "ControlOptions": {
    "AllowWorkerPowerControl": true,
    "AllowCgminerPowerControl": true,
    "AllowCgminerConfigReadingAndWriting": true,
    "AllowCgminerControl": true,
    "CgminerStartCmd": "sh -c '/home/xxx/Dropbox/miners/cgminer/manualmine_xxx.sh'",
    "CgminerKillCmd": "pkill -9 \"cgminer\"",
    "CgminerConfigFileLocation": "/home/xxx/Dropbox/miners/cgminer/cgminer_xxx.conf",
    "WorkerRebootCmd": "shutdown -r 1",
    "WorkerShutdownCmd": "shutdown -p 1",
    "RootPrivilegesCmd": "whoami",
    "RootPrivilegesCmdResult": "root"
  }
}

Edit: just updated config.md: https://github.com/cgminermonitor/cgminermonitorclient/blob/master/doc/config.md

Feature request...  it sure would be nice to be able to reorder the pool priorities.  Is it possible to add that?

Thanks!

Please log out and log in. If you have still issues, press Ctrl+F5 to "hard refresh" the website (while being on dashboard page).

Ctrl+F5 fixed it.  Silly me!  (blush!)

Thanks!

Chris

Well, strange that you have had to do that - I always try to avoid that.

Now you can change to pool, which is in fact setting pool's priority to 0. Do you have something else in mind? How do you imagine that?

I didn't "have" to use Ctrl+F5 but did so because it was quicker/easier than logging out of the site and then logging back in.  That probably would've fixed it too.

Now you can change to pool, which is in fact setting pool's priority to 0. Do you have something else in mind? How do you imagine that?

Right now, the priority for my pools are this:

0: Enabled  Strtm Quota 1 Pool 0: stratum+tcp://r6283.g20.rigs.eu.betarigs.com:9115  User:chrison999-6283
1: Enabled  Strtm Quota 1 Pool 1: stratum+tcp://us.clevermining.com:3333  User:1KW9fnXHgQSjEq7RNDWAbgx6DY68rgXVrm
2: Enabled  Strtm Quota 1 Pool 2: stratum+tcp://pool.ipominer.com:3333  User:corion49.USB4
3: Enabled  Strtm Quota 1 Pool 3: stratum+tcp://multi.ghash.io:3333  User:chrison999.USB4
4: Enabled  Strtm Quota 1 Pool 4: stratum+tcp://mine.multicoinpool.org:3310  User:chrison999.USB4

I'd like to change the priority so that ipominer has a higher priority than clevermining, like this:

0: Enabled  Strtm Quota 1 Pool 0: stratum+tcp://r6283.g20.rigs.eu.betarigs.com:9115  User:chrison999-6283
1: Enabled  Strtm Quota 1 Pool 2: stratum+tcp://us.clevermining.com:3333  User:1KW9fnXHgQSjEq7RNDWAbgx6DY68rgXVrm
2: Enabled  Strtm Quota 1 Pool 1: stratum+tcp://pool.ipominer.com:3333  User:corion49.USB4
3: Enabled  Strtm Quota 1 Pool 3: stratum+tcp://multi.ghash.io:3333  User:chrison999.USB4
4: Enabled  Strtm Quota 1 Pool 4: stratum+tcp://mine.multicoinpool.org:3310  User:chrison999.USB4

Currently, to do that using the CgminerMonitor site I'd have to delete all of the pools except betarigs and recreate them in the order that I want.  I saw this in the API-README for cgminer:

Quote
poolpriority|N,... (*)
none        There is no reply section just the STATUS section
stating the results of changing pool priorities
                              See usage below

The 'poolpriority' command can be used to reset the priority order of multiple pools with a single command - 'switchpool' only sets a single pool to first priority.  Each pool should be listed by id number in order of preference (first = most preferred)

So, I'm wondering if it would be too difficult to implement the 'poolpriority' command as part of the site.

Thanks!

Chris

No problem!  There no rush on it.  I just thought it'd be something really nice to have.

Have a great holiday!  Be safe!

Hi cgminermonitor!

First of all, congrats by your superb site. Finally i have one location to monitor all of my miners!   Grin

Second, any notices on bfgminer support ?  Tongue

Thank you!

It works with bfgminer.  I'm running bfgminer 4.2.0 and it's just fine.

Ok.

I tried with bfgminer 3.10, embedded on hashra controla image for pi, but only returns a error message - 06/21/2014 02:54:13.86 Error occured while sending StatCgminer data. Error code: BP, Message: Apikey: e099af4ebd904d3baaf9909523119af9. Bad parameter 'Stats':  , and cgminermonitor dashboard always shows "no data colleted" for this worker.

Double checked API key, recompiled client, that was done without errors, but error message persists.

EDIT: Strangely, same build works like a charm in minepeon 0.2.4.5, that use same version of bfgminer.

Maybe custom version of bfgminer ?

Maybe custom version of bfgminer ?

Thanks for detailed description. It's slightly different data format, however I'll try to fix that in two/three days. Sorry to keep you waiting!

No problem!

I think its a localized problem with controla. I copied the build exec from controla to minepeon 0.2.4.5, that use same bfgminer version - 3.10.0, and it works without errors.

And, can you accept a suggestion ?

If, possible, we can get a totalized hash rate by crypto protocol ( sha256, script, x11, x13, ... ).

I have a 3 types of crypto miners, and is a bit confusing to see what of them is ok, because sha256 miners is x1000 scale than scrypt ones.

My current dashboard:

http://cgminermonitor.com/Shared/806d6f0b07314641a8aebb881bb5849e0

To explain:
BES, BFL and Peon01 - Sha256 ones
Controla and Zeus01 - Scrypt
DRK01 - x11mod ( Darkcoin )

On pimp 1.5.5 I just get "cannot execute binary file". And yes, I got PIMP from https://github.com/cgminermonitor/cgminermonitorclient/releases/download/v0.0.7.0/CgminerMonitorClientX64PiMP1x . And set permissions to 755. It does not start anyway.

Hey, I've just uploaded fix for that (the client remains the same, change is on server), please try it now.

Sorry for troubles, they've changed linux core. Please use BAMT instructions for PiMP version equal or greater than 1.5, I'll update GetStarted page soon.

And, can you accept a suggestion ?

If, possible, we can get a totalized hash rate by crypto protocol ( sha256, script, x11, x13, ... ).
Sure, I was thinking about that too. For sure I will add that in future, however I cannot say precisely when.

Feature request...  it sure would be nice to be able to reorder the pool priorities.  Is it possible to add that?
There are small complications with this feature... but despite that you can expect it next week.

No, Windows ofc, I always read the faq Smiley

Only error is that it says:

Error occurred while sending StatHardware data.

When running it with -v it says:

Error code: UE, Message: Wrong Input Data
I will update the client to allow me to figure out what is going on. For now there was no problems with that..
Client updated, however it's small change and I don't want to publish new version. I've sent you PM with link to compiled Windows version.
Please run it with additional parameter dumpFile, like this:
Code:
CgminerMonitorClient_Windows.exe -dumpFile=test.txt
after a while it should create two files, send me them in PM.

Yeah! Great job, cgminermonitor!

Controla worked at first try!  Grin

Thank you!

Another suggestion ?

Maybe a PRO feature: Set a auto-start for cgminer/sgminer/etc process on failure or after a host reboot/power cycle.

Yeah, that would be cool! What is more, there could be something like restart process/reboot after detecting dead GPU etc.

Great program, testing it out now; is it possible to use the build from source method on BAMT? Killed my rig today trying to do it remotely.

Great program, testing it out now; is it possible to use the build from source method on BAMT? Killed my rig today trying to do it remotely.
Yes it is. Please use "Compile from source" instructions on http://cgminermonitor.com/GetStarted page. If that was your way, please add more details what happened.

I have no idea what happened when I installed it the first time, but installed it a second time and all is well now.  Thanks!

So you can put your commands after the Miner program option, but as of now you don't have a config file. I believe you can create one within CGMiner/BFGMiner; it's under settings.

Thanks!

Regards,

Chris

Chris and all, I've just updated worker details page - the pools section. Now you can change pool priority - move it up and down Smiley

As I said in my last post, the pool priority function does work.  However, after using it for awhile I've found it to be a bit awkward.  If I want to move the pool that's currently priority 4 to be priority 1 I have to click the "cgminerCommand_poolUp" button 3 times, waiting each time for the command to execute and the rig to update.  It works, but as I said it's also awkward.  The same thing works in reverse, of course...  it currently moves a pool up/down one priority step at a time.

If I'm reading the API-README correctly, the "poolpriority" API call accepts a comma-delimeted list of pool numbers in the order of the desired priority.  If the current priority is "0,1,2,3,4" (pool 0, then pool 1, then pool 2, etc...) and I want to move pool 4 to the front, all that needs to be done is to send a "poolpriority 4,0,1,2,3" API call.

Is that right?  If so, wouldn't it be easier to have a single text-entry "change the pool priority order" box with a "submit" button to accomplish this?

Just a suggestion!  If that's too much effort or doesn't fit in with your design scheme, that's perfectly okay as the current functionality *does* work.

Thanks, again, for all your effort in creating and improving CgminerMonitor!  It's *really* cool stuff and it has made managing my rigs *much* easier!

Regards,

Chris

Yeah, I have thought about that Chris. However, I found that it is both easy to make a mistake and hard to explain what the user should enter to this textbox. Let's stay with simple current move up/down for now.

Pro tip: you can click move up a pool two times without waiting for previous command to execute. CgminerMonitor just schedules to execute "POOL_URL move up" not "POOL_NUMBER move up".

No problem.  It was just a suggestion.  And knowing that I don't have to wait for the rig to execute the command and refesh the page makes it a bit quicker.

Thanks!

all of my bin files are being created inside my cgminermonitor folder (instead of my sgminer folder). Is this normal? Or is there a way to have them only create in the sgminer folder instead?

Is there a way to Display the pool name on the shared rig page?

Instead of "stratum.nicehash.com:3340" show "NiceHash-Nist5".

What bin files? If that bin files from sgminer I recommend you to check if you navigate to proper directory when launching sgminer.

The problem with that functionality is that not all mining software allows you to specify name of a pool. Therefore for now there is no such a possibility, sorry.

Is it connected to a computer or to a router? Can you access it by local machine (localhost/IP:127.0.0.1)?

That means you have to point CgminerMonitorClient to this IP address. I can prepare a new beta version which would allow to specify IP.

How do you know? I think that with small modification it would work.

As someone mentioned on the reddit thread, you should consider having pre-compiled versions for some of the embedded miners, like KNC, Antminer, etc.

As someone mentioned on the reddit thread, you should consider having pre-compiled versions for some of the embedded miners, like KNC, Antminer, etc.

Sure I would that, however the problem is, that I don't own any of those devices. So far I only know that Avalon is running on OpenWrt, but it's hard drive and RAM it's rather too small to run Mono framework. I would have to somehow write another client...
The way I see it for now is to have another machine, which would connect to those miners and it would monitor it from this another machine. This of course isn't perfect solution... reboot/restart worker commands won't work and we need another computer to run the client.
Maybe you have any thoughts on this?

If you want to give it a shot am in.

MinersEdge is (partly) right, this means that CgminerMonitorClient can't connect to cgminer.
Please verify if you are hitting the right port (4028) and if you have configured cgminer to allow API calls, from "GetStarted" page:
Quote

Configure cgminer:

Pass additional command-line arguments: --api-listen --api-allow W:127.0.0.1

Or add additional configuration file entries: "api-listen" : true, "api-allow" : "W:127.0.0.1"

If you run client on the same machine as the sgminer is working, you don't have to setup any port forwarding on router. What is interesting, even with proper setup there seems to be a problem with communication between sgminer and the client. The last try: please delete "api-mcast-port" line. I don't know what it is, but maybe it interferences with api-port setting.

One last thing, if you are working on windows, check firewall settings, try to run the client as admin. Also note that you have to restart sgminer to make it read the config again.

Most of us mining more than 1 box have some sort of 'babysitter' box sitting near by, that could connect to the cgminer API, pull data, then publish it. I think that's a great idea.

Actually no one ever tried that. You would have to compile it from the source. I still have OpenWrt devices on TODO list.

Hey man, great job with cgminermonitor!
I like it a lot and use it all the time.
It saves me a lot of time and also has some features
that let me do stuff not available otherwise.

I also have a feature suggest and a possible bug report.
About the feature - it would be great if there is an alert that monitors
one and/or all cards acceptance rate in a miner. For example -
if any of the cards in a miner doesn't accept a new share for 20, 30, 60min etc
to send an alert. I am suggesting this since sometimes I have miners that
have cgminer frozen (no shares movement whatsoever) but they still report
some constant hash rate - no movement at all. So from dashboard view it
looks all "green", but when you go to the cgminer graphs you can see what really happens.
My description my not be very detailed so let me know if it needs further clarification.

Bug - all versions I used to sph-miner 4.1.0 the client was reporting scrypt for all algorithms -
scrypt, X11, X13 etc. So there was one set of graphs but different values for hashrate.
After I moved to sgminer 4.2.2 (v5 beta) they all (the algorithms)
show as marucoin-mod, darkcoin-mod etc and there is a graph for each algo (incl. temp, fan, accepted, etc).
That shouldn't be a problem, but the way they are visualized is such that they all start from
beginning. Example:
X11 mining - from 12am to 6am
X13 mining - from 6am to 1pm
X11 mining - from 1pm to 3pm
It will show on the 24h graph:
X11 mining - from 12am to 8am - 8hours (12a-6a is 6h and 1p to 3pm is 2h)
X13 mining - from 12am to 7am - 7hours (6a-1p is 7h)
So it looks like this:
Code:
X11

(sorry about my art skills)

So my point is - it might be better to put them all (algos) on one graph or if they are separated to
make them look more "chronological".

I can share some miners so you could take a look for both the "bug" and the feature.

Yeah, got an e-mail alert for one of my rigs, checked and saw all were down, had a mini panic attack.

Yeah, got an e-mail alert for one of my rigs, checked and saw all were down, had a mini panic attack.
I've had mini panic attack too. Sorry guys for yesterdays issues. Cgminer Monitor backend API was overloaded for around 2h yesterday, then it slowly regenerated. It seems that autoscale feature of cloud service doesn't work as expected...

Hey man, great job with cgminermonitor!

Thanks jjjordan for review as well as nice idea. I hope that those "advanced" notifications will be implemented later as pro features.

Until you figure out how to fix it do you think it is possible to disregard the algorithm type
and put all the stats in one graph? That would be awesome, since now
if you switch algos the graph is pretty much useless anyway.

Hello all!
I've just published general statistics about Cgminer Monitor website: number of workers, number of users, different hash rates indicators, pool share, client share and more. Enjoy: http://cgminermonitor.com/Stats
...
This looks awesome! Thank you a lot!
It is very helpful.

And since you are onto it I must add another thing that is somewhat related.
Let's say the 1hour graph. The whole graph is 1hour "wide".
If you have just started the miner/client it is not.
It is much shorter instead and only shows couple of minutes.
And another one, which I will try to describe by memory, since I don't have it
"in front" of me right now:

1. It is 10:00 now.
2. My miner froze at 9:20.
3. I rebooted at 9:40
4. The graph shows as straight line between 9:20 and 9:40 instead of not being there at all.

Maybe after you declare the miner as dead and email alert also zero the graph?

I am sorry if my reports are annoying you, but I think you should know about them. Wink

So I don't know if you have a feature request list but here is one:
"Group miners for remote control."
It means - switch all my 7950s to a X11 pool, and 280x to a X15 pool...
So define groups (farms) and switch them in bulk.

Keep the good work!
Thank you again for your great piece of software!

Total Hash Rate graph is already on TODO list. Since you are not the first user who requested that - priority of that feature has been increased.

I'd like to have the "total" graph not only to show the total hashrate, but the hasrate of the workers combined (like combining the graphs of the workers in one graph with multiple lines for the different hashrates).

Another suggestion is to be able to disable some workers instead of deleting them altogether.

Love cgminermonitor btw!

Sure, I'll try to add that, thanks for suggestion!

Sad news.. from September fees for pro account will be introduced. There will be a fee of 0.15LTC per worker per one month, 25% of discount when buying 3 months and 50% of discount when buying pro account for 6 months. Why 0.15LTC? That's the amount of LTC which average CgminerMonitor worker will mine during a month. Fees will change over time to reflect bigger difficulty change or average worker speed. There will be no hidden donation mining - only explicit payments. Hope that will cover hosting fees.

Good news: monitoring functionality will stay free, as I promised.

Promo until the beginning of September: anyone who has wrote in this topic or send me an email till now, can send me an email again (with email registered on the website), or send me PM (with email in the body, registered on the website) to receive free PRO account for whole month, as my gratitude for providing feedback about CgminerMonitor!

Total Hash Rate graph is already on TODO list. Since you are not the first user who requested that - priority of that feature has been increased.

Since you mentioned TOTAL HASH RATE GRAPH is your priority,
I can give you some heads up and tell you whoever wants miner grouping (me too:))
will also want GROUP HASH RATE GRAPH too... So think about that when you are working on
the TOTAL HASH RATE GRAPH...

I don't know if you have feature request page, but you can do something like the guys from PiMP did:
http://www.getpimp.org/features.html

And finally - the subscription model is not a bad thing! So it is not SAD news!
This means you will get paid reimbursed for your hosting and all other operational costs.
Also time and effort you are putting into this should be rewarded. So don't feel bad about it.

One thing that I am nervous and even scared about when using "free" services is you don't get to complain
or require help/support about it (just like not voting and demonstrating). You rely strictly on the good will of whoever provides the service.
So having subscription is healthy both for you (altruism is good, but bread is essential necessity) and your
accounts (now customers). Just don't go overboard and keep it real.

I'm getting my RPi today. Whats the easiest way to install? I've read over the HOWTO...will that install directly onto the SD card or will I have to navigate around a bit more?

Also,

Can I run two instances of CGMiner on the Pi and monitor them both at the same time using this? I have one SHA miner and a Scrypt miner I have to run on separate instances I believe.

Possible bug:

Reported value of hashrate at CgminerStatistics per GPU (from graph)
is not the actual one reported by cgminer and the worker page (with "GUI" cgminer).

Example: one of my miners has 4x 7950 cards - each one does pretty steady 2.45Mh/s X15
(reported by both sgminer and CGminerMonitor worker page).
The graph reports 2.35 very consistently.

Suggestion: There might be some faulty conversion - x1024 instead of x1000 or vice versa?

Unfortunately, installing on RPi is the hardest one (but I think still easy) Smiley You should follow steps from http://cgminermonitor.com/GetStarted "Compile from source (e.g. Raspberry Pi)". Yes, it's install on SD card. Send me an email, if you will have any questions.

Can I run two instances of CGMiner on the Pi and monitor them both at the same time using this? I have one SHA miner and a Scrypt miner I have to run on separate instances I believe.
Sure, that would be no problem. Yes, you just have to run two separate instances - run them in different folders or set up different config name for each (as run parameters).

Thanks for reporting that, I understand that on worker page everything is correct, but on Cgminer Statistics page the value is a little lower than it should be? I'll look at that.

I've just checked that - it seems that it is how it looks on graph. You should have precise value of hash speed when you will move mouse over the graph.

Edit: Nope - there was faulty conversion. It will be fixed today.
Edit2: Fixed along with other reported small issues. See http://cgminermonitor.com/Changelog

Very well done sir...
I still experience wrong reported hash rate though.
My sgminer froze and reported 0.00 hashrate total and about 4Mh per card.
The reading at cgminermonitor.com though reported 16Mh (4 cards).
And that was for almost 24hours.
Here is the miner:
http://cgminermonitor.com/Shared/1cc33e209060493daa270d5ef9c317c01

The only way to "catch" dead miner in that scenario is to go to cgminer stats page
and look at all miner graphs and check for "flat" "Hash speed" and "Accepted" lines (see attached file).

Very well done sir...
I still experience wrong reported hash rate though.

Ok, now I understand. In my opinion that it's sgminer fault that it gives 4Mh report per card.
However, now I am working on advanced notifications, where you could set up an alert when accepted shares do not increase - this would solve this issue.

That would be awesome, thank you!
In order for remote control to be easy to use I have this idea:

Use pool names (if available) instead of actual pool addresses/ports
example:
pool1:  http://us-east01.miningrigrentals.com:3333
pool2:  http://us-east01.miningrigrentals.com:3333
pool3:  http://us-east01.miningrigrentals.com:3333 and so on...
and it's impossible to tell which one I should switch to because all algorithms use the same port at MRR.com

So then it will look like:
pool1: X11_Rig
pool1: X13_Rig
pool1: X15_Rig
...

Hi, I'm looking forward to trying out CgminerMonitor soon, but I do have one question. I am in the boonies with only a Verizon hotspot for wifi, which means a tight monthly data cap for all my internet. (Which is exactly as miserable as it sounds.) So I always have to check how much data something like this will be sending/receiving. Can anyone give me a rough estimate of hourly or daily bandwidth for just this software?

Depends how much devices you have on your miner. Mine miner with 7 GPUs sent roughly 500MB of data, receiving is not so much used. 500MB a month is around 700kB per hour - that's like visiting one "heavy" website. That amount is for pro account, where data is send on average every 25seconds. With free account that amount should be at least 5 times smaller.

Thanks! 100 MB/month I can handle. Now I just need my rig to crash so I can see an example of the email the monitor site generates, so I can configure gmail to forward it as a text to alert me.  Cheesy

Just to let you know guys, advanced notifications are now published Smiley Therefore currently available notifications are: 'miner is down', hash speed drop, overheating, fan issues, accepted shares stale, device status changed. Only the first one is for all users. The rest is for pro users.

1) When sending Statcgminer Data. Sometimes I get this error. "error occured <when contacting http://api.cgminermonitor.com/satistics/> The operation has timed out". The problem is sometimes I didn't get this error.

2) Also is there anyway to slow down the sending StatCgminer data incase of error? It keep trying like every 2 second and basically used up all my bandwidth.

Thanks

No worries here. If that's < 5% of requests, it's all good. Nerd details: it means either cgminermonitor servers have though time or your connection is (temporarily slow).

As I said, it should be very rare case. Does it happen frequently to you?
