And what mattered was that they won, and before the game started, I already knew that they were going to win the game, but the way Arsenal was playing the game, it was looking very unsure, and as for Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, I don't know why, but I was sure that they were not going to win because between the both of them, it is very easy to know who is going to win or not because that is just football, but it was looking like Arsenal was not going to win that is why it was a narrow escape.

And even when I was very unsure about Arsenal winning, at the same time I just knew they would do everything to win, and another thing was that even the way they won was just surprising to many because no one expected Arsenal to win, and now they are left with four games, and very soon we are going to know who the champions are going to be because for some time now this is not what was expected, but it is getting more interesting.

The match wasn’t even suppose to be so difficult for Arsenal, but Arsenal performance is already dropping, they were just lucky to score a goal towards the end of the first half the match would have ended as draw. Seriously Arsenal are just suppose to work on their performance because if they really want to win the champions league this season, then they have to work harder, i don’t see them winning the champions league with a performance like this.

I also think Arsenal should be able to win the second leg of the match and they going to be promoting the the semi final of the match because they going to be playing at the Emirates, but all I will say is that we should expect anything from Arsenal. They won against Sporting CP with just a goal difference, Arsenal might just end up playing poorly in the second leg of the match, and we might end up seeing them losing. I know Arsenal is having higher chances in the second leg, but they might just surprise us.

Let's not exaggerate, however, to say that Arsenal's performances are declining. Let's say they didn't give their best in this match, but overall they're keeping their performances high, they're certainly slowing down where they can afford it, and they still have to withstand the pressure of competition for several matches.
They can't afford to make so many mistakes, in my opinion they are simply slowing down, but in terms of performance i don't see any decline.

Who believed Madrid would win ? Can not you see that madrid is not in good form. They lost a few days ago against mallorca. In such a situation, it was a much more difficult task to resist a strong team like Bayern munich. And Madrid failed as usual. Even then , I expected them not to lose in the home match. I am not surprised by this Arsenal victory, they deserved it because overall Arsenal's strength is slightly better compared to Sporting and that cannot be denied, so Arsenal could play a bit freely even though this match was played at Sporting's home. So for the second leg, there is a very high chance that Arsenal could advance to the semifinals. I predict this is quite realistic because in the second leg, Arsenal will play at their own home with a 1-goal aggregate advantage, which will certainly make them much more confident.

Anything short of victory for arsenal would have been seen as a failure because sporting Lisbon is a team they should be winning convincingly, no disrespect to them, but they are not on the same level with arsenal, that is why I was really disappointed in arsenal throughout the game when it was goal less, but they were lucky that they got their winning at the dieing minute of the game when everyone thought that the game was going to end in a draw.
So they now take this important one nil lead to the emirate stadium where they can seal their progress to the semi final of the competition, but this arsenal team really needs to improve if they want to really fight for the uefa champions league trophy, because their performance recently hasn't been convincing when compared to other top teams.

I never expected Arsenal to lose or draw the match because I see them as a team that is better than sporting CP, Arsenal find it difficult to score yesterday and that’s because they were not pushing through to score, I love what Martinelli did in the last minute he was the major reason for that goal, Kai Havertz also did wonders by scoring that goal, the match was a match I just expected Arsenal to win because they need to prove a point.
Yes, you are right. If Arsenal really want to lift the champions league title this season they need to improve because they are not playing as I want them to play, if it was this way they where playing I’m not sure they would’ve won Bayern Munich in the champions league match they played this season, they really need to improve and start playing better. Sporting FC is not a small Club because they have trained great players which was why there should be considered as a tough club, they did their best yesterday but actually when you go against a team that is better than you in performance, you will definitely remain in their shadow and that was exactly what happened yesterday. I was highly impressed with sporting performance because they did so well to hold Arsenal for almost 90 minutes, at least it is not an easy tax for holding a team like Arsenal this season because they have a very wonderful teamwork and that was why they are able to reach the level.

EVERYONE is like such a big overstatement. Bayern Munich was the slight favorite to win the match. So if Vegas thinks Bayern is the favorite, than over half the people are thinking the same obviously.

I’m not sure about the result, I think it was quite fair, even though Sporting played a very good match. Arsenal’s victory looks deserved to me, because for most of the game it was evenly matched, and Arsenal managed to win through determination. Overall, I think it would be fair to see Arsenal in the semifinals, because right now they are clearly the stronger team.

As for the Bayern - Real Madrid match, I’m glad Bayern won. They really are stronger at the moment, and right now I think Bayern and PSG are the two most obvious contenders to win the Champions League. And I would like Bayern to become champions this season.

I don't really know what went down in the Arsenal game because what I saw wasn't the hungry Arsenal that plays the champions league with so much aggression, is that something changed in them...they couldn't act fast enough, still unbeaten in this season's champions league but yet again they played like they have given up or something. Sporting CP didn't torment the Gunners like Southampton did and if this is how the Gunners are going to play till the end of the season then we should be ready to see them lose up to 3 games and cost them something very precious to them.

I think injuries of some of the Arsenal players is still affecting their performance, if you watch the match from the beginning till the end of the first half you will agree with me that Arsenal is stronger than their opponent just that some of their strikers that know how to score goals early they were not in the match, the most important thing is that Arsenal won the match 1-0 to make their fans celebrate yesterday, I don't think their coach will allow their players to display like this in their next match because their coach was not happy the way Arsenal were struggling to score goal despite they won the match.

You said it like the players that wasn't on the pitch throughout the game yesterday are magicians that if they play it doesn't take up to a second before find the ball at the back of the net, this squad or should I say the whole Arsenal players were slow because they played like this game wasn't that important, don't know how to place it but these guys allowed Sporting CP rob shoulders like they're of the same level, it shouldn't be allowed to happen because they would have done something worse than defending but get a goal and that would have been the end for Arsenal,yeah...good thing it was Arsenal who got the win. If they had won this match, they could have had hope for the return leg, but now they've made things much more difficult for themselves. Today Real Madrid lost in an impressive way, and at home. Things always go wrong for Real Madrid when they reach these final stages. I don't know what's wrong with them, I don't know what kind of game they want to play, I don't know how they can't win. Bayern is good, but Real Madrid still lost in a way I don't understand. They had everything, no luck, nothing, losing at the Bernabeu. They have to wake up, that's all I can say.

I also sometimes don't understand what happened to Real Madrid, even though they have so many star players that they should have won against Bayern. But this is football, which is always full of surprises. I think Arbeloa didn't strategize well in this match. If he had a good strategy, maybe this wouldn't have happened. Now, Real Madrid just needs to win and score lots of goals in the second leg. Yes, the second leg could be more exciting, because Bayern could lose to Real Madrid, ultimately advancing to the semifinals.

Now Bayern fans are definitely very happy with Bayern's win at Real Madrid's headquarters and Bayern fans definitely want to see Bayern win again at home in the 2nd leg. Does it seem unsettling that Barcelona would face Atletico Madrid six times this season (2 in Laliga, 2 in the Copa Del Rey semi finals and now in the Champions League). I feel like it would be more entertaining that Barcelona face PSG in the quarter finals and Liverpool face Atletico Madrid.

With the recent result between Barca and Atletico Madird, it is quite unpredictable how today's match would end, though in my opinion I predict that Barca wins this match with Ateltico putting up a fight too. This is a match that I sense would have a lot of goals or one goal difference at last. Atletico Madrid qualified last for the quarter finals in 2023/2024 which shows how consistent they have being in the title race, so i don't expect the win to come easy to Barcelona.

It is quite something to witness, Atletico Madrid being the challenger and the thirdwheel in the Spanish league have gotten the better of Barça in the Copa Del Rey but failed to win any of the league meetings….
Once again we get to witness them face each other, the champions league is a theatre of drama and premium football entertainment… it’s always going to be a fierce battle between this two, most odds will favour Barcelona as the bigger team. I also Favour Barça to knock them out.

i think Bayern Munich are the top favorites for CL trophy right now. i’ve rarely seen a team commit so many players to the attack so quickly. I can't imagine how other teams will stop them when they suddenly have 6 players in the final third or how many counter attacks they'll concede against that kind of passing rhythm.
