Arsenal failed to live up to expectations in this match. PSG played a truly dominant game from start to finish, demonstrating just how much they wanted the trophy and ultimately winning the Champions League. Despite conceding a goal early on, PSG didn’t lose focus and continued to ramp up the pressure. Arsenal had prepared well defensively for the match, but in games like this, playing defensively isn’t always the best option. As we saw when the game went to a penalty shootout, Arsenal was weaker than their opponent in penalty kicks.

PSG won the Champions League trophy for the second consecutive time on penalties, showing just how important penalty takers are. Gabriel took a very poor shot and missed. Arsenal had more work to do, but they couldn't capitalize on it. In the end, Arsenal were the losers. The trophy went to PSG.
I had already thought PSG would be the champion but not through penalties. Congratulations PSG, you are the champion again. No big names in PSG, no big names in Arsenal, and it proves this final was entertaining. It means these two teams really deserve to be in the final. Both teams played openly, making it very entertaining for me. Maybe another regret is felt by Mbappe. At the moment he left, his former club was able to play well and win in the UCL. Next season, there may be many more surprises. I think the transfer market will see more activity. Congratulations to PSG, but I had already seen through Arteta’s strategy before the game began. He wanted to score in the early minutes and then play a defensive game until the end of the match, but the penalty spoiled his plan, and they lost in the penalty shootout. It was not always easy, but the final was really amazing, and everyone enjoyed it. PSG became even bigger as they secured two Champions League trophies in a row. For Mbappe, he will start looking like bad luck because, since he got to Real Madrid, he has not won any trophies yet, and their performances have become unstable.

I was already expecting Arsenal to go for full defending in case of getting ahead first. So it wasn't surprising. It's a boring kind of performance in a finale for spectators but nothing to do... PSG deserved the back-to-back trophy. Luis Enrique's system is running like clockwork that even the best defenses aren't enough to stop it. I think all of the squad and him are happy with Mbappe's departure from the team.

Arsenal was generally the weaker side against PSG. That early goal was just the beginning of a great game and PSG's attacking dominance. They came very close to scoring a second goal on several occasions and even hit the woodwork twice. Luis Enrique once again showed his class and successfully defended his title, while Arteta will probably have to wait a bit longer for his first UCL trophy. Congrats to both teams though, we got a fantastic final @babo, you can edit the thread and add PSG to the 2025/2026 winners list once again

I think all of the squad and him are happy with Mbappe's departure from the team. Despite falling behind, PSG stuck to their game plan. They tried to dominate the game from start to finish. Havertz would have been more useful if he had stayed on his feet and fought back on counter-attacks after the goal, but he constantly threw himself to the ground trying to get a foul from the referee, yet the referee didn't blow the whistle for any of them. Incidentally, this referee, despite being a quality referee, will not be officiating at the World Cup. PSG found the equalizer with a penalty, making the score 1-1. Penalty shootouts depend on luck, but Arsenal, just like years ago when they lost to Galatasaray in the UEFA Cup, lost again on penalties.

I'm glad PSG won the Champions League. Arsenal chose a cagey style of football and didn't allow their opponent to attack, especially in the first half. However, Arteta's side created nothing themselves in front of the PSG goal, which made for a less than spectacular match. PSG weren't able to play their usual attacking football, but they still won. Enrique's team punished Arsenal for their anti-football, and even though it wasn't in open play, they got it done in the penalty shootout. Well done to PSG.

Honestly, if Arsenal had won the trophy despite playing such a boring game, I would have felt bad for PSG. That’s why I’m happy with this result. Arteta and his team need to work on being a bit more offensive—assuming, of course, that Arteta stays on at Arsenal for the season. At PSG, Mbappé was a problem all on his own—and honestly, no matter which team he goes to, he’ll keep facing the same issues.

But without that penalty kick in the 64th minute, Arsenal might have been the champions. the proof is that even though PSG dominated from start to finish, in the end they couldn’t score a goal through open play. In fact, many of their attacks were repeatedly thwarted by Arsenal’s defense. One mistake Arsenal made was relying too heavily on total defense. They only started attacking aggressively after PSG equalized. In fact, I think if Arsenal had played that way from the first half, they might have scored again. because PSG also sometimes let their guard down when constantly pressured. In that match, the dominance shown by PSG didn’t make them look superior. It’s just that seeing Arsenal constantly defending made the match less exciting. but through that match, I realized that Arsenal and PSG are actually evenly matched in terms of strength. it’s just that they have their own ways of handling the game. And I congratulate PSG on their second UCL title.

arsenal, having scored as early as the 5th minute, only needed one more goal to almost secure their place in the final, and they had a full 60 minutes left to do so. if they had managed to convert one more chance into a goal to make it 2-0 before psg earned the penalty, i’m sure defending that lead would have been much easier for them. but once the score was 1-1, it was clear psg wasn’t going to give up the match easily.
i think arsenal actually started the match very luckily, because for the rest of the game, i didn’t see a single attack from arsenal as effective as the one that led to the first goal. but they squandered that chance. psg fully deserved to win this final. they controlled the ball, made the passes and took the shots. i don’t feel sorry for arsenal, who lost by playing like a coward. after taking the lead, they didn’t even try to score another goal or do anything else. it was psg’s pressure that made the final great, and i love that. that’s why, even though i don’t support psg, i was happy they won.

In a penalty shootout, the luck of the draw is very different, so it shouldn't be compared to a match that lasts 120 minutes. I actually couldn't understand Arsenal's defensive play after conceding a goal early in the first half, as it made the final less exciting, even though the penalty shootout created a sense of nervousness and unease among the fans supporting both teams. And this time, I would also like to congratulate PSG for winning back-to-back Champions League trophies despite the lack of star players in the team at this time.

I’m a bit unsure about this because, in my opinion, PSG was the team that really wanted the trophy, so they kept up the pressure until the very end—and that pressure led not to a goal, but to a penalty. They converted the penalty, but they might not have. Arsenal focused too much on defensive play. When Arsenal scored the first goal in the 6th minute, morale at PSG dropped briefly, and if Arsenal had attacked for a second goal instead of sitting back, perhaps a different outcome might have awaited us.

What expectations mate? Aside Arsenal fans I don’t think anyone expected them to win the champions league and some of Arsenal fans will still tell you they knew they won’t win the champions league. Well it was a good game and as always the defense prove to be a very key Role in Arteta tactics, they defended very well but then conceded a penalty. The penalty is a game of mindset and concentration but at the end PSG were able to win the shootout and have now won back to back champions league. It a good one for them because they deserve to win the champions league. Now gunners have to keep their heads high and hope to get their hands on the trophy soon.

Arsenal fans thought they were the first club in the history of Champions League to finish unbeaten in a Champions League competition but they didn't know that there are teams that finished unbeaten in a Champions League competition and won the Champions League trophy. However, Arsenal actually became the first team in a Champions League competition to finish unbeaten and didn't win the Champions League trophy.

Of course, luck plays a role in penalty kicks, but I think it makes more sense for an attacker to take the shot rather than a defender. If you think the match will come down to penalty kicks, you need to prepare accordingly. This is definitely not a decision to be made on the spot, and you may need to prepare for it even before the match begins. Even though they didn’t have a great game, Arsenal might have won the trophy in a penalty shootout.

We have to tell ourselves the truth, Arsenal can't win a major title playing like they did last night against PSG, they were playing like an average club, sitting back and waiting for PSG to attack, this was the worst champions League final, Arsenal had Just 25% ball possessions with one shot on target in the the whole world match. Arteta has to change his playing pattern and buy attackers, he can't continue to score one goal and defend it like that, PSG deserves the winning, they played good football and they were better team last night.

In fact, I thought the match might unfold exactly this way, with Arsenal spending more time defending. But I could understand that approach if Arsenal had continued protecting their lead after scoring and tried to hold on to the winning scoreline. But once the score became 1–1, continuing to sit back and defend seemed like a mistake to me. They needed to keep playing, especially considering that Arsenal's attack is also quite strong. As for the penalty shootout, I don't think it was about luck at all. Rather, some players were let down by their technique at the most crucial moment, perhaps excessive nerves played a role as well.

I followed the first half of the match and I can say that Arsenal has an impressive defence line and they counted a lot on counter attacks, so the dominance of Paris Saint-Germain in that part was quite fake because it was ineffective. I mean holding the ball for a long time without creating a real attempt means nothing. I am quite sad to see gunners failing to claim the most prestigious title. They were so close, close than ever. I don't know if they will have the occasion to do it again but they deserved it regardless of any potential interference during the game.
In my opinion, PSG failure in creating chance is because they do ineffective strategy. If you see the statistic, playing pattern from PSG is by trying to score goal from corner kick or build attack from side of Arsenal defense. This is make PSG cannot make good chance, because shot on goal effort is less maximal from that strategy. defensive strategy from Arsenal also make PSG player frustrated, they are too much drama wit diving to get free kick . While Arsenal, they scored goal from PSG player blunder, after that moment, PSG do zoning when Arsenal player control the ball. I always see there are 3 PSG players that close Arsenal player to do short pass. This make Arsenal player difficult to build effective attack.

The odds for the match were striking. Based on those odds, I had predicted the match would end with a close score, but I didn’t expect Arsenal to score so early either. I wish Arsenal had won, but after they scored, they started playing overly defensively. If you play defensively for 90 minutes against a team that scored five goals against Bayern Munich, you’re bound to lose eventually. The team will need to work a bit more on penalties. In my opinion, a penalty is an event that truly requires focus and experience.

Yeah, there are many teams that have done that. For English teams themselves, there are Man United, Man City, Liverpool, and Nottingham Forest. And the one with a 100% win rate is Bayern Munich in the 2019/20 season. And yes, Arsenal is the first team in that category, but this season is not their first time. It's actually their second time. Their first time was in the 2005/06 season. BTW, I take back my statement when I said PSG vs Arsenal might not be entertaining for a final match. Even though this match lacked shots on target, PSG really struggled to break Arsenal's defensive line. They went right and left and right and left. This match was probably the one with the most horizontal play. I also wonder how Mbappe's feelings are right now, after the team he left just won back to back UCL trophies.

Even before Arsenal scored Paris Saint Germain they have been defending the game and funny enough Paris Saint Germain didn't give them a breathing space and again if not for the mistake that Paris Saint Germain player made when he was clearing the ball and Kai Harvatz utilize the opportunity Arsenal would not have score any goal and I think that was there only shot on target in the 90 minutes of the game. The possession was very crazy and I'm sure Paris Saint Germain would have won in the 90 minutes if Arsenal players come out to play.
The mistake arsenal made in that final was playing defense, instead of coming out to attack PSG, they went back to defend against psg which was why they had only one shot on target and they were dominated in the game. In the second half, I expected Mikel arteta to change strategy seeing that arsenal was outplayed and dominated in the first half but he didn't change strategy,he continue with that same pattern of play because he thought he could hold PSG for another 45 minutes. If arsenal had changed strategy in the second half by coming out with full pressure to attack PSG, that penalty wouldn't have happened and arsenal may have had better chance against PSG. Another mistake was substituting Saka and trossad, he never should have substituted them especially Saka.
