Valid point too, as for Osimhen, he made his choice and only him knows why he's still in Europe but if I were in his position, I would go for that Saudi offer, after all the Saudi Pro league isn't what it used to be 10 years ago, now it has changed and the league organisers and government at large are trying to bring life into it. It is now widely known after the signing of Ronaldo. Now greater numbers of persons do watch the league compared to previous years back. Most times as an African, playing for Europe doesn't give you a sit at the table, only few African has made their names in the continent and it's not even talked about as much as the European players itself. Look at George Weah, even after being the only African to win that award, his not talked about that much. If I'm in that position, I will go for the money because after retirement, it's the money you made and the investment you have you will fall back to, no one will pay you for winning trophies or awards again after your retirement.

This is too emotional but it's nothing but truth. Footballers and movie actors are the most abandoned people after their retirement. Every deal cut off once you hanged the boots. The only thing you can fall back to is your investment, the individual awards becomes a mere decoration in your room. The worst part of it is Europe doesn't regard African players.

We've seen many football legends that retired and become broke but our African players are not thinking much about this yet. Saudi offer is a life changing amount that if put to good investment, he's got nothing to worry about after his retirement.

But come to think of it, Osimhen can still get both considering his age. Ronaldo acquired name in Europe and now cashing out in Saudi league. He should probably stay in the Europe for a few more seasons before moving to Saudi but only if they are still interested in him.

The Women African cup of Nations has officially kicked off  with the match between Senegal and Algeria. The Hosts Morocco will be playing later this night. This game of 4 groups will witness a total of 34 games and Nigerian Super falcons hoping to defend their title for the 11th win. Who are you supporting in this tournament? The first game is about kicking off between Algeria and Senegal now so let's drop our views. The tournament runs between 26th July to 16th August. Who are you supporting?
The super falcons are already in camp and as expected, they already have brought up a positive energy and you can tell that they are mentally ready to give us what we have always known them for. i am a big fan of all that the super falcons represents and certainly, i will be rooting for them to successfully defend their title yet again. With Nigeria failing to qualify for the world cup, it will be expected that the super falcons performs will bring a sense pf joy back to the nation considering that the super eagle have recently failed to live up to the title of being looked at as the giant of Africa.

Is Morocco the only country that could host this African women cup of nation? because they were the ones that hosted the previous one and this time is still them.
Whether we like it or not, the fact remains that at the moment, Morocco is the only country in Africa that has the infrastructure to host a standard tournament.

It is undeniable that Morocco has set a high standard in Africa judging from its world class stadiums, transport network, hotels, and experience hosting major international tournaments. however, saying that Morocco is the only country in Africa that has the infrastructure to host a standard tournament in Africa is a way trying to water down the efforts countries like South Africa, Egypt and Algeria has made and also joint-hosting models.
Morocco may be the best currently but that those not mean they are the only country in Africa that can host African cup of nations tournament.

Nigeria has the ability to host international matches,we have hosted international matches on many occasions. Although the Godswil international stadium is the only approved stadium by CAF to host international matches, the Abiola moshood stadium if it's renovated can also be used to host international matches.
However, these three nations you mentioned in your above post have standard stadiums too but South Africa has the best stadiums than the all three, morroco, Algeria and Egypt. So if they is one country that should be regarded as the best host for international matches then it's south Africa.

Sidny Lopes Cabral from Cape Verde officially won the best goal of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Congratulations for him and for his nation because they made everyone proud of them and how much they progressed although not having any previous experience. Cabral scored his goal against Argentina after a nice individual effort from the side and sending a curling rocket to the Argentina goalie.
The other two goals that were considered were scored by Shomurodov from Uzbekistan and Isidor from Haiti against Morocco.
Interestingly, these goals involved an African team Wink

Sidny Lopes Cabral from Cape Verde officially won the best goal of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
It is not only the goalkeeper that has made a record from the world cup, the Cabo goalkeeper Vozinha will be moving to Chilean club Colo-Colo and at the age he is, the move to this South American side is being celebrated because his new salary is significantly higher than what he usually receives with his old club.

There is an option to extend on his contract if he is able to perform well and I believe that he will be able to do so and be retained even after the six months that this contract elapses.

Interesting, I have not watched the female version of this African cup of nations before because I don’t see it as being interesting to watch but I think I will have to try it out this time around and my support is going for my country Nigeria, and the Nigeria super falcons are always doing well in this competition and there’s hope that they can lift it again.
I’m surprised that Morocco are still the once hosting this competition, I’m sure the reason for this is because other African countries don’t have what it takes to host it, it’s a shame to countries in Africa and their leaders.
We will have more Nigerians watch the WAFCON than it has happened before, i personally will like to be introuduced into the fans that will cheer for them, our men team are not giving us what we want to see, the women are doing way better and it is another moment for them to show themselves.

I'm sensing another Morocco vs Nigeria as the last two countries to meet in the final, Morocco did the opening 4-0.

That goal was a really stunning goal against Argentina, and personally that goal was the best goal I really enjoyed throughout the tournament and it was also my best game of the tournament. I mean the round of 32 clash between Argentina and Cape Verde. Sidney lopes Cabral really had a great game that day and caped it off with such an amazing goal, overall he and his teammates had a great tournament and I’m sure if not that he already signed for Trabzonspor in the Turkish league just a month before the World Cup, he would have been one of the most sort after player by different top clubs in Europe Top five leagues. Trabzonspor were lucky enough to have signed him earlier if not he would have Cost them more than the amount they paid for him especially with this kind of performance in the World Cup.

That’s not exactly true. I think it depends on how much the player has built their brand outside of football. I see Peter Crouch on tv ads all the time, Jay Jay Okocha is ambassador for some betting company, Ronaldinho is also an ambassador for several betting companies. The list goes on. Ex-players are also transitioning into managers, punditry, podcasts, and tv hosts.

This is actually where the problem is, many of the players don’t build wealth out of football when they’re still actively playing. When they retire, and don’t earn that huge amount of money again, they later become broke or don’t get to live those fancy lifestyles again as they don’t have enough money on them to maintain such lifestyle anymore. Talking of Ronaldinho, there was a time he also went broke and news had it that it was Messi that helped him out. Now that he’s an ambassador of a bet company, I don’t think he’ll go that broke again that he can’t fend for himself. Some players lifestyle after football become a thing of pity, but they most of them are making it also more after retirement for planning it well before retiring from football.

I may be wrong but we will see

This is too emotional but it's nothing but truth. Footballers and movie actors are the most abandoned people after their retirement. Every deal cut off once you hanged the boots. The only thing you can fall back to is your investment, the individual awards becomes a mere decoration in your room. The worst part of it is Europe doesn't regard African players..
Some say chasing after glory is better, then I ask, after retirement will the said glory put foot on his table? I remember Oscar of Chelsea, when the Chinese league came calling with a mouth watering offer, he left to make the money, as at few days ago, I saw a post of him and how much he made in China Vs how much he would have made if he was still playing in Europe. The difference was very clear, even after making less in Europe compared to what he made in China, out of that money, majority of it would have gone to the taxing system. He Oscar said, he came from the slums, family needs to be taken care of that's why when the offer came, he grabbed it with both hands. With the money his made and his investments, his settled for life and for me, that's the main goal and essence of being in the work force, knowing that you have secured the future for your children financially.
