Mind you, our next match is with the group leaders South Africa that are sitting on 16 points in the group and are prepared to ensure they get victory against Nigeria that has been a pain in their neck all over the media as a result of their ineligible player they fixtured in one of their match.

No mate I watched the first half of the match, and when our team were not playing well in the first half of the game I stepped out to take fresh Air and never return for the remaining second half of the game, so I concluded that the match may have ended in a draw, but then I checked the statistics on live score and discovered that the Nigeria team made a goal score at 51 minutes which is somewhat late goal coming from supper eagles there if you must agree with me, see the position the super eagles are on the table and you will realize the reason why I made such a comment, I don't mean to talk down on our national team but then their have performed worst in each competition unlike the falcons.

This is so true. South Africa are over hyped at the moment. Well, they are very confident because they only need 3 points and they are good to go. If they cant get it against Nigeria, they can get it against their fellow South Africa nation.

Where I pour my aggression is to why, 4 South African nations will be put together in one group so they can share the points among themselves. Although I'm not surprised because, the CAF president is from South African so I expect things to get messy.

Osimhen just fall into injured and may not play on the trip to South Africa, so it's an added headache to choose a replacement. you know we are still a bit uncertain in Group C and we need to show our mettle right away, the next game is in South Africa on 9 sep, so there's no time for excuses, right?

Nigerian Super Eagles are very fond of winning matches with just a goal difference and it has become a very bad mentality because a team that always win their matches with 1 goal difference can risk an equalizer from their opponents just like what happened in the match between Nigeria and Zimbabwe when Victor Osimhen's goal was equalized in the 90 minutes, it was so painful because if they had won that match it would have given them hopes of qualifying for the world cup but look how they have gotten themselves in a state of distress due to the many conditions that is attached to their possible qualification for the world cup. Regardless that Victor Osimhen got injured in the match against Rwanda but the players would have managed to make the match more interesting or are they going to tell me that if Osimhen is not featured that they won't do their best. We should not even put our minds on the game against South Africa because that will be a heartbreak if they end up not winning.

Now Nigeria is dominating in female sports, football and basket ball have all been won by Nigeria and other sports will follow. We need to revamp the male sports especially football because we have the quality of players to do that. Vincent Nwabali, Victor Osimhen,  Lukeman Ademola, Ekong and many other players of the Super Eagles are in their prime, nothing stop us from dominating.

The strength of the super falcons ends with the super falcons and if the super eagles want to show that they are equally strong, what they should do is to prove it by giving a really strong performance. if you want to name players, you can name a hundreds of them both the ones that have been called up to the national team and the ones that are not yet playing for us. after listing those good players without any positive result, what does it fetch us? and where exactly does it place us?

all these players you are calling are doing well in their clubs but when they come to play for their home team, it becomes a problem and they continue raising shoulders and all without getting the needed result. with all the names we have, we are still doing mathematics just to see if w can qualify for the world cup. that should be a thing of shame na

The South African game is a must-win for the Eagles. The Bafana Bafana have lost just one game and they are one of the best teams in this World Cup qualifiers. Nigeria fans will go wild in celebration if we get those three points.

Exactly they did play as if they are Manchester United team, I don't want praise them, however I understand that there sometimes team that expected to win give their bets without getting anything out of it, multiple chances was created in that match but non was converted to goal apart from the 1 goal, I see some persons praising them I laugh because I don't like deceiving myself instead of me to keep pretending, it will be very good for me to say my mind, I was disappointed with super eagles because it was not as if they played against, Algeria, Egypt, Morocco or any other strong African country, as we may have it, the national teams I mentioned are not even in their group, just ordinary Rwanda, super eagles messed up period there's no need of petting words, you said south Africa might not strong right, when super eagles couldn't beat ordinary Rwanda, problem am waiting to see how they will do, although I wish them well.

I don't know what to say about the Nigerian team if the poor performance is from the players, coach or other related factors thats what i can't tell but all i know is they need to revamp there structure ...

I use to direct my blame to the head coach Chelle then I had to rethink about the total number of games the Super Eagles have played have played in the leadership of Eric Chelle,total of  5 games, 2 wins  and 3 draws which is really not bad, but then the players has to do better than what they're doing, let them makes sure to win rest of thwir games while we hope that the other opponents drop points. Winning South Africa in the next game is paramount, the result of that game will determine a lot for the Super Eagles destiny in the qualifiers.

With the way things are going, I don't think Nigeria will qualify for the 2026 World Cup. Let's be honest, what did Nigeria Super Eagles accomplish to qualify? We have never lost a game since the new coach, but that doesn't mean that our players are doing well. Nigeria has drawn some games that we were expected to win and be at the top of the table by now. If I remember when Nigeria super eagles used to concede goal in the last minute of match, it made me feel that the players don't deserve to be called super eagles because they don't act like the super eagles.

It has been a while responding in this thread, decided to air my grievance concerning Super Eagles and the management at large.

Obviously Nigeria are not qualifying for the World Cup, we settled for minimum and this is the result at the end. Our players are good but the management lacks potential we couldn't do just as intended, not qualifying for the World Cup once again, seeing South Africa lead the group while the said Giants are no where in that position, not even likely to finish second position which is still of no use.

I do not mean to be the pessimist, but my predictions for our game against South Africa will either be a loss or a draw. We are not winning that game; no need to get your hopes high.

Even with the extra slots for African teams to qualify, you would have expected the Super Eagles to easily qualify and not be struggling at this stage. If we are struggling to score just a goal against Rwanda, we have no business with the World Cup.

In most times because of their disappointing nature of fans, people are not interesting to watch their games and the way you walk out, many people did the same, and for those who do not have TV to watch at home if Super Eagles were doing well, they would have watched it in an app but even if they watched it in the app, it would be a waste of data and time so the watching rate too has reduced.

Today match was Central African Republic VS Cameroon and Cameron beat them 2-0. Cameroon was one of the best team in Africa when Samuel Etoo was there but now they are also struggling like Nigeria.

I think it’s going to be a no brained for the super Eagles coach to Include Tolu Arokodare as the main striker to replace the injured Victor Osimehn because it’s almost certain with the level of the injury that Osimehn wouldn’t be rushed back to the team in order not to complicate his injury woes as he just signed for his new club Galaterssary, he needs to be careful not to worsen the situation. Osimehn is Nigerias most important player currently no doubt about that and Nigeria team needs him in this kind of games against a really good opponent like the South African team who are top of the group c table for the World Cup qualifiers. Well, to an extent the absent of Victor Osimehn might come out positive for the Nigerian team as he’s always the marked man and the most targeted player by the opponents defenders thereby limiting his goal scoring opportunities. So right now if he’s not on the squad, there won’t be too much marking by the South African defenders except they will now focus their attention towards Ademola lookman. But I’m optimistic that the Nigerian team will definitely find a win the match or at least go home with a point.

If the injury on oshimen is that severe and that we can't risk worsening the injury then Tolu is one player that can be used in the striking lineup against South Africa because apart from oshimen tolu is the best choice that we have currently, I was impressed with his performance in the last game.


Nigeria super league should approach this game with all level of seriousness so there is no need to put on players that are not fully fit to play because south Africa is one team that can score alot of goals.

Although I can only work out of there match if they are wining against them because of messing up. There was an aggression against Osimhen that I think referee should have done better than that because his aiming wasn't on the ball and before he could reach Osimhen the ball was no longer there but he instead strike Osimhen leg that could have actually affected his kneel, Osimhen got really pissed on that Rwandan and if not that he was on pain he could have done something they would have giving him a yellow card. Cameroon was still fine after Etoo because he wasn't on the team last world Cup and Cameroon survived so this lack of effort is a recent occurrence.
