I wonder why some people are happy over what happened South Africa it's not as if the Nigerian team has been given an automatic qualification to the world cup they still need to fight to win their remaining matches while they hope that the two countries that is ahead of them drop points it's our usual way of qualifying in any tournament.

I am not blaming you for believing Victor Osimhen being fit to play for the Super Eagles won't change anything, because Victor Osimhen has been part of the Super Eagles' African World Cup qualification, and yet the Super Eagles couldn't win enough matches to secure a safe passage to the World Cup. Baba, your concern is valid. We don't have a team or technical crew that is reliable. Nigeria shouldn't have been in this tight corner if we had done our homework. We blew our chance of having our destiny in our hands when we drew against Zimbabwe. I don't like singling out players for defeats, but Troost-Ekong was the weak link of the defence.

But we have what is called the Nigerian never-say-die spirit, which has worked several times. If Mother Luck smiles on us, we will get the ticket.

I didn't even knew that South Africa got their point deducted already because I heard about the possible action by FIFA but I never truly taught that it would come through but since the point have been deducted maybe the chance that Nigeria have will just be a little better this time around than when South Africa had their full point because that would been very dreadful for them if not even impossible to qualify.

I really wonder too because this is not the first time the Super Eagles are having a situation work in their favor in major competitions and still blow the chance to make a difference. Even with this 3-point deduction, the situation is still dire. South Africa's next game will be against Zimbabwe, which is last in the group, having played 8 games and not won a single one. If South Africa wins, they will have 17 points, while Nigeria will play Lesotho, which is not very weak. If Nigeria wins, they will have 14 points, and if they draw, the situation will get even worse.

After the game against Lesotho, Nigeria will play against a strong opponent, which is currently the leader of the group, I'm talking about Benin, while South Africa in the last game will play against Rwanda, which is not a very strong opponent, so I see Nigeria's situation as being very complicated.

The possibility of Nigeria qualifying for the 2026 world cup is very difficult however it is possible now we all know that the best in each group which is the country with the highest point in each group automatically qualifies for the world cup however for Nigeria to be able to get to the top it means that they need to win their two matches that is left and then South Africa needs to lose their two matches  that is left which I don't think is even possible however if Nigeria super eagles cannot top the group, they would need to finish second and be among the four best runners-up across all groups. After the game against Lesotho, Nigeria will play against a strong opponent, which is currently the leader of the group, I'm talking about Benin, while South Africa in the last game will play against Rwanda, which is not a very strong opponent, so I see Nigeria's situation as being very complicated.

Nigeria's situation should not be complicated, but we are the ones who are complicating things for ourselves. We should never have been in this situation if only the coach was able to get his strategy right and the players able to play as a team. We lack good defenders and also good attackers but the issue for me remains the midfield that is lacking talents and players to bridge the team. Our dependence on Alex Iwobi alone to create chances from midfield has to stop else we are going to amount to nothing.

I am not expecting much though, but I will be happy if we can qualify.

To answer your question. No I lack faith that the Super Eagles will take advantage of the glimmer of hope you think they have. When you praying for the opponents to lose all their two matches, is it that the opponents are not praying too? What should be is that let the best team in the two matches all win their games to qualify, and if Nigeria is one of the best then so be it.

South Africa and Benin do not need to lose all their matches for Nigeria to make it to the World Cup. One loss gives the Super Eagles the chance of emerging as the winners of the Group if they score more goals. I know that the Super Eagles have performed so badly that many people have lost hope in them. But we don't have any other country, so we will keep supporting them till the end.

Well I think you are correct about the South Africa and the Benin losing all their matches isn’t necessarily for Nigerian to advance as a single loss for the super eagle could still give them a chance to top the group with enough goals difference

Baba, your concern is valid. We don't have a team or technical crew that is reliable. Nigeria shouldn't have been in this tight corner if we had done our homework. We blew our chance of having our destiny in our hands when we drew against Zimbabwe. I don't like singling out players for defeats, but Troost-Ekong was the weak link of the defence.

But we have what is called the Nigerian never-say-die spirit, which has worked several times. If Mother Luck smiles on us, we will get the ticket.
