I don't see anything bad in the country's decision not to host the continental competition. Hosting competitions like the African Cup of Nations and the women's event is capital-intensive. It is not bad to focus on hosting world events such as the World Cup and FIFA Club World Cup. The country have investor so much in infrastructures like investing heavily in stadium upgrades, training facilities, and the development of the Mohammed VI Football Complex. I don't see anything wrong if Morocco wants to position itself as a leading destination for global sporting events.

They are still part of CAF. Fouzi Lekjaa, the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), is CAF's first vice-president. Any country that wants to host the competition is free to do so. Let other African countries build capacity to host African competitions.

I just found out today that Thomas Partey was denied entry into Canada. Also Senegal and Ivory Coast supporters club visas were denied as well. It doesn’t matter how the media wants to paint the situation, it’s clear to me that African teams will be the ones suffering from the US immigration system. I don’t think America understands that football is a unifier, what was FIFA thinking?

Other countries could have hosted this world Cup instead of this three countries because is too much for them on this one, is United States actually this way on the world cup, the last time they hosted it?, perhaps since Qatar was the last host, another Arabic nation should have also hosted it because there immigration laws are not like the United States and Canada and all this fans they rejected could have made it if is was any Arabic countries or in Europe. This is a national team so Thomas Partey should have been allowed pending to how his case would later be. I don't see why Thomas partey court case should be a concern to the canada government, he was only accused of something that hasn't been proven to be true. Since Thomas partey hasn't been found guilty by the court he still remain innocent of the charges and he is simply a suspect so why are they now denying him entry into their country? They should allow him into the country because he hasn't done anything wrong.

This is a national team so Thomas Partey should have been allowed pending to how his case would later be.

Like I explained above, I don’t think “should” is the right word to use here.

I'm not against Morocco not applying to host African tournaments or them choosing to focus its resources elsewhere my only concern is that they can do that without announcing it, which make it look like if they don't host African tournaments, African Cup of Nations won't hold at all levels. I'm one of the few persons who have been saying other African countries should step up and build standard stadiums that will allow them to host African tournaments, because Morocco is feeling like if they don't host African tournaments no other African country can host African tournaments. Now that Morocco has dropped to host African tournaments, it's time for African countries to prove Morocco wrong. I have resize my image.

The presumption of innocence should have been applied in Partey's case. The principle states that an accused is considered innocent until proven guilty before a competent court. His trial will begin at Southwark Crown Court on June 8, 2027. Canada should have granted him a visa because he is innocent until proven otherwise.

An example is Benjamin Mendy, who was also accused of rape. But the court found him not guilty after his trial. The former Manchester City player's career was destroyed because of false accusations.

It's unfair but their country, their rules. Cases are treated differently in different countries and Canada treats rape cases as a serious offence. It's legal to deny anyone visa if they consider you criminal inadmissable. Canada is just trying to be on a safer side. I know it's painful considering the fact it's their opening game but this should not weak his spirit. There other games outside Canada he can participate in. Maybe FIFA should start considering country's strict rules when next they want to select host nation because it doesn't make much sense hearing about deny visa here and there.

Morocco hosted the last two African Cup of Nations which isn't supposed to be so. They've hosted the last two Women's African Cup Of Nations and will also host it for the third consecutive time this year which isn't supposed to be so as well. If they said they aren't interested in doing more, I think I totally understand. They're not the only African nation. Other countries should also host football events in the continent.

They'll be co-hosting the 2034 FIFA World Cup tournament with Spain, I think they're now focusing more on the global stage and there's nothing wrong with that.

This is the news coming up this morning that FIFA would pay Omar Arthan his entitlement as a referee in the world cup tournament.  Although it is not his fault though that he was denied entry into the US but we expected that FIFA could have intervened in this matter but but it was captured in the news that he was interviewed for straight 11 hours and was still denied entry and from what I read online, the interview has to do with something related to a terrorist group affiliations which he said he doesn't have idea what they are talking about and I believe that was the reason behind his entry denial hence the possibility of FIFA not being able to interfer but to resolve in paying him his benefits as a referee for the tournament. We will keep our hands crossed and watch how it goes after the world cup tournament and see if FIFA would honour their promises as they have said in paying him his benefits.

This situation must be very disappointing for the referee, participating in the world cup is a very crucial point in his career and if the rumour that FIFA will give him his tournament entitlement, then at least that will be a compensation even if he can't participate in the tournament. At the same time, FIFA can't do much with the immigration decisions because such decisions are made by the individual country and the final decision would remain with the authorities handling the case. It's very crucial that a matter like this be handled carefully because speculations like this can go a long way to damage someone's reputation especially when the speculations are not confirmed so we need to rely.on official statements for this kind of matter. Hopefully the referee receives a fair treatment and all promises made be redeemed and still, for the referee to be called up for a tournament like the world cup means that he's recognised for his capacity and achievements on football officiating.

After that first match non of the countries that came from Africa has played but today we have Morocco to battle Brazil, the country with many form of players altogether because what they have is enough to make an international club, so actually Morocco is an African pride in world cup but against Brazil I don't no what form or type of prediction that should fit the match so could Morocco become the second African country to lose or the next country to win from Africa?.

They better don't host any African nations cup or other African tournament again because their is nowhere it's written that because you are a host nation, you must win it. And it's because of that, the referee were doing everything possible for them to win, which kills the spirit and the integrity of the competition.

I am not worried about this because this was the second time in history they have hosted the afcon, if am not making a mistake her. I am not sure of other caf competition, but wether they step forward to host it or not, the competition will still go on in other African nations, so if they are angry that they can't buy their way to the afcon trophy, they should stay angry for all I care because I don't give a dam.

It is better that they are not hosting the AFCON again because other countries will like to host it. Let other Nations host this tournament and people will travel to those places and probably they have not been. As it is, Nigeria is building more World Standard Stadiums across the country and once they finished building them, I strongly believe to host AFCON will not hard Nigeria or the way the three countries host the World Cup can also be applied here in AFCON. Morocco can even stopped participating if they want.

Morocco seem like they are boostful and this is something I don't like about African football, the moment a national team or country begin to feel that they are the best in what ever area, pride immediately takes over them..
If Morocco feels that they are the only country in Africa that has or have the infrastructure to be able to host the African Cup of nations tournament, the humble thing to do would be to advice other african countries to try as much possible to build same or even better infrastructure and maybe even offer to help so they won't be the only one having to host the AFCON every season.

No wonder they desperately wanted to win the AFCON title last season at all cost, to the extent that they couldn't even hide their manipulation and that of CAF as well from the public, this country needs to be cautioned as I believe they've not learnt any lesson from the last AFCON that was played in their country.

It was am interesting game yesterday, because Brazil people use to know in term of world cup tournament is different from what people saw yesterday for Morocco not to allow Brazil their opponent people thought that they will beat Morocco with a single goal. I like the way Morocco use that first half secured opportunity that made Brazil to struggle to equalized the goal 1:1 and no matter how they struggle to win the game but Morocco defenders block their strikers not to score another goal till the end of the game.

This is the wish of some of clubs in this first leg to keep their fans in good mood, because assume Brazil fail to equalize that goal to allow Morocco to win the game to secure three points, it would have made their fans to lose hope in their next game but since the game ended up in 1:1 yesterday made the both club fans to smile.

The Nigerians that lives in Mexico and will definitely support their host country because they believe that after Nigeria, Mexico is their second home where they live and could also support, this is interesting to see that football is bringing people together and this is one of the goals of which has been achieved by creating a national/International integration altogether as a result of sports.

I don't think so. Nigeria suppotrted Mexico not because they lives there, if they chose to support their fellow Africans they could do that without them facing any problems from mexicans. But the reason Nigerians and other African continent supported Mexico is obvious, it's because of South Africa xenophobia.

One special thing that I like about Africans, we always support each other especially when it comes to football. South Africa caused this hatred for themselves, and their upcoming match is against Czech Republic and I strongly believe that other African countries won't support South Africa. Well, with this draw, my bet was lost because I had bet on Brazil to win. Many news channels and their sports commentators are criticizing the Brazilian coach for the choices he made, particularly in the starting lineup. They wanted the Brazilian coach to put Endrick in right at the beginning of the game, and everyone is wondering why the Brazilian coach didn't put Endrick in from the start. It wasn't the fault of FIFA that Omar Arthan was denied entry into the United States of America and there's nothing FIFA could do for the United States of America to allow Omar Arthan entry into the country, so I don't blame FIFA for what happened to Omar Arthan. I commend FIFA's effort to pay Omar Arthan his full World Cup fee even as he's not officiating in the 2026 World Cup.
