I thought President Bola Tinubu sacked the full NFF board a time ago, or was it just a rumour. I wished the FIFA body could send their worker's to investigate the NFF and NPFL Management to uncover their level of corruption and mismanagement. They owe player's salary, we don't have a world standard FIFA approved stadium, the structure of the local league is poor, and so many other things. Yet this same NFF receives allocation from FIFA, and the competitions they participate in, but we the football fans can't account on what they used the money for. EFCC should have arrested the management boards. Every working sector in this country are corrupt and it's not easy to end. The football in Nigeria needs properly restructuring, before we can regain our stability back in the football world.

Every sector in this bola Tinubu led administration is rotten to it root, so am not too surprised of how corrupt the Nigerian NFF is. If we had a leader as president that really knows his job or what he is doing, all this NFF officials should have been arrested and prob, but they wouldn't be held accountable to anything because the clueless government doesn't even know what they are doing.

Recently the president used his influence to ask the leadership of the NFF to resign by threatening them with EFCC cases, since they all have skeletons in their cupboard,  they all resigned including the chairman, if not that position is always an elective position, so they could have stood their ground. The entering committee that the president has appointed that are over seeing their fears of the NFF, I'm so far been gradually taking responsibility, it is now their mess to clean up, I trust me it will take a little longer before we will begin to see any tangible results in the NFF administration.

Boss, do you think we, the ordinary fans have a say over this matter? This is Nigeria, not abroad where they listen to their fans but here in Nigeria our voices do not count at all. How can we even take matter into our hands? Is it through protest?

We don't understand the power we got as fans. what's the game without rhe fans? if we decided not to watch the games anymore by not coming to the stadium or protesting and the game doesn't hold until something is done, you don't think things will change? I'm talking about strong protest like the "End Sars"  own that brought about some level of change in the police. If we can pull off the same thing whenever there's a game in the county, you'll see what'll happen. The Federal government will have to step in to save their face and we might've done something at least. With that we tried instead of hot dosing anything at all. What I don't still understand is the fans going to watch the genesis in the stadium, just imagine if the stadium is empty as a form of protects, all this can go a long way instead of not doing anything.

Leadership is not done based on emotions which is why the president would never act that way. The NFF leadership is not by appointment either because the leadership is also an elected positions. Asking everyone of them is the best approach he could use because he understands that he may also need some of them in other areas. It's all politics and even the president understands that looting and corruption will be difficult to quench in the NFF.

If the president wants to be smarter, he can still go after them after the next leadership has taken over. He can prove them based on accounts and some shady transactions of which evidence will always be there. Politics is not a very good thing and has taken over the electoral process. Fans should be more interested in getting a better NFF executives than focusing on the outcome executives.

the stadium is empty without fans do you know that an empty stadium is louder that any press releases you can call it?

There is no harm in trying to protest but the fact is that lives would be share that what the main problem we are facing, you made mention about the “End SARS” that was a very diversifying moment that Nigerians today can’t forget so easily because many life were lost…

I highly welcome a protest that would force the federal government to step in and restructure the NFF but i do not welcome a protest that would stop the super eagles game not to hold because FIFA is going to ban Nigeria fans from entering the stadium when the super eagles are playing a game, and that will not look good on the super eagles, because if a team plays a game without their fans they will not do well. Nigerian fans stoping to watch games in the stadium will not bring any change to Nigeria football, because the NFF could hire people to fill the stadium when the super eagles are playing a game.

Is futsal allowed to be discussed here? Forgive me if not but I couldn't find any threads about African futsal on the board. I was reading through some sports news and caught that Morocco just won the Futsal AFCON 2026. What really surprised me is that this is their 4th consecutive AFCON title, which has to be one of the greatest runs in African futsal history. I also saw they're currently ranked 6th in the FIFA Futsal World Rankings, making them one of the global powerhouses. But I'm curious, why is there such a massive gulf between Morocco and the rest of the continent? They only conceded 1 goal in the entire tournament while scoring 28! I know goals flow much faster in futsal than traditional football but conceding just once across the whole tournament shows a big difference in quality between them and everyone else. Anyone else follow the African futsal scene or have insights into how Morocco built such a dominant team?

I agree with everything in your post. In my opinion, there are two major challenges to the cause. The first is that the NFF do not care about what the fans think, and secondly Nigerians have a culture of moving on from issues too quickly. Even if we together as a people to demand credibility from the NFF, we will never fight it to the end before giving up.

For NFF not to give a dam or care about fans and the performance of the players when they are not doing well it means even the ministry of sport are also acting blind of the whole thing. If NFF do things in the way they like it means the sport ministry that overseas everything is not even concerned about the football of the country. Every year the government allocate a huge amount into the sport ministry and this is how NFF is funded and because of the sport ministry is showing no concern that is why NFF is less concerned of everything.

If the ministry of sport's is not showing concerns then you should know that they too are also partners in whatever they are doing. You sound like you do not know or have clues about the country you live in. Everybody is having their own cut and share of the cake while paying deaf ears to whatever is happening to the football body in our country. This is nothing new anymore in the system, they all know what the are doing and can.not pretend not to know what is going on in the NFF.

Do you know that because of the the behavior of NFF, the minister of sports sometimes get a fall out with them, this is because, the exco of NFF are elected through balloting 🗳️, while the office of the minister is appointed by the President of the country, so sometimes this NFF board develop a thick skin that they sometimes don't agree with the office of the minister, it's that bad. The so called Glasshouse is full of arrogance that you cannot saction them, and there is a level of interference that a government would want to pull through, they exco will write ✍️ to FIFA complaining of government interference in the matters of football, and you will see FIFA coming all hell lose on the government, so the situation is sometimes dicey.

Can protest solve the problem?
We are facing so many problems in the country, of which corruption is one of the biggest ones, and it has been affecting so many of the activities going on in the country, including sports, where the leaders there are using it as a means of making their millions instead of doing the right thing to make the country better.
Now that we have so many problems, it is not everyone that will support the protest because the way we are in this country, many of us are just going for their daily income. If the protest is about sport, the number will be few, and they will not take it seriously; therefore, I don't think protest is the best solution. We just need to be hopeful that they change the leaders and bring leaders that can make it better so that our players can be proud of the NFF and play as they are supposed to play.

Going on protest can only project what actually transferred within the football sectors and the public we have more awareness to the challenges they are facing, what is the sincere I don't think it will bring your permanent solution to the way things are expected to be done, I have seen several times people are protesting against the government and yet nothing changed, but they will always be a chance of possibility in seeing this happening with a positive impact if done in the right way.

Of a truth we have some level of persuasion or will I call it power as fans but there’s not so much we can do with it. Those in governmental authority have little to no consideration of what happens outside their board meetings and maybe interviews, they care less about what we do as fans.
A protest can go a long way if only it’s successful and unified, one of the qualities we’ve lacked in recent times. There will be those who will do otherwise or who will be paid to do otherwise.

I find it difficult to accept the idea of protest in this contest because Nigeria is not UK and would never be. The leaders don't care who's living or dying. You mentioned the end sars protest, even though it served to awaken the spirit of Nigeria supporting these bad leaders but has the police brutality gone extinct? No! What about the the October 20 shooting? Protesting against the happenings in the recent bad leadership.

If you protest, they will deploy men that will kill and inflict injuries on the protesters. It's life first because at the end, nothing is worth putting your life in danger to that extent.

Reformation should start from the federal government, corruption have eaten up every facet of the country and even if they managed to adjust after a protest, within a short time they still continue with their evil acts. If there must be a reformation in any sector of the country I think the federal government should start first so that other sectors can see from there and adjust themselves. They are all the same set of greedy and corrupt and greedy individuals and that’s why the reformation needs to start from the top which is the federal government if not our protest will be in vain.
