I also didn't expect it to stay this long, before Galatasaray left him out for their Champions League match, and also the last domestic league game, which they lost, the injury should be serious, with reasons to keep him away from the national team aswell.
I'm confident in the boys we have representing us in the qualifiers, not minding the absence of Osimhen, I can proudly predict Nigeria to win both games.
The challenge is not even the injury. I think the biggest challenge here will be getting back in form. Clubs and team are very quick to easily move on once a player's performance drops or fails to pick up after an injury and a long period of being out. It also hurts their chances of moving to a bigger club with better pay. The question that remains now is how soon can Osimhen pick up form after a long time out?

Honestly. I also didn't expect Osimhen injury to be this serious and be out of play up till now. Definitely, his absence will affect the team in one way or the other.

For the fact that Galatasaray kept osimhen out of the Champions League and their last league game shows that the injury may be more serious than we first thought and it is understandable that he was also left out of the national team because there is no point risking him if he is not fully fit. And yes he is one of our best but with or without him i believe Nigeria still has enough quality to win without him.

The question is that what is a player that is injured and should be concerning himself with recovery in his team doing in Turkey. But I wish him speady recovery.

Teams are not clueless, everybody knows Osimhen is an injury-prone player, even the internet can tell you for free. How to know class, whenever Osimhen returns from injury, he doesn't pick up from a bad start. Once he is cleared by the doctors and considered fit to play, expect the best from him. Galatasaray without Osimhen will have a terrible season, both in the Champions League and domestic league.

The specialty about the Nigerian national team is that it's not one team that's built on one player so it's for the boys to play as a team and not hold back any energy they have got to defeat heir rival. And when Victor Osimhen finally returns from injury he would just be an addition to the strength of the team. So it's just as Youngrebel said it, with or without Osimhen the team would still display quality on the field.

This is not the first time he going break as a result of injuries and this is is not a problem for him whenever he resturns. You will even be surprised by the time he is back he becomes better than before . This is even the best times for him to be on break because if he returns back the team can be able to meet up with the target of the team for the season. Victor Osimhen is a wonderful players that being out of the game is not a problem for him.

Did you know that I was going to make a similar comment because this was also the same line of thought I had too. The team needs to learn how to play without a super-star because just as you have already said one day, the super-stars will be unavoidably absent. Having a super star in the team doesn't equal a win ...we have already seen that happen over and over again. What truly makes the difference is when everyone plays as a team. Simply put teamwork. I strongly believe that we can beat any team without the likes of Osimhen if we can play as a team.
This current Super Eagles team was built around Victor Osimhen, and the team depend on Victor Osimhen to win matches that's why if Victor Osimhen didn't play for the Super Eagles they will start struggling, and it's difficult for the Super Eagles to play like a team now because they have been dependent on Victor Osimhen for a very long time. But if Victor Osimhen retires, and there's no super star in the Super Eagles team they are going to build their team around no one and they will play like a team, and win any team because they aren't depending on any player to win matches.

What is it that will be fishy enough to keep Osimhen from playing for Galatasaray in their last three matches? Is it a serious or minor injury? I know Osimhen as the kind of player who doesn't claim an injury when he will be representing his country (Nigeria) in any international game. He will be on the pitch no matter what Haven't you seen or heard at times, the way he gives his might to the Super Eagles to make sure they have a match victory. He does have injuries along the line, denying him some playing time for his club "Galatasaray". Our prayers and hope at this time are for Osimhen to recover soon from his injury because his team needs him, and so do the Super Eagles need him.

The AFCON 2027 qualifiers are about to start, and I’ve included a few matches in my parlay specifically these ones: Mozambique - SenegalThis match involves my home country, Mozambique. Senegal actually requested that the game be played here. honestly, I’m not sure if they realize the stadium conditions aren't great much like the state of everything else in the country right now. It’s the fault of the regime governing us. Strangely, I’ve noticed bookmakers shifting the odds significantly in Senegal's favor: they started at 1.20, moved to 1.28, and then to 1.45 I’m not sure why. Maybe they aren't familiar with our national team. Ever since the coach demanded (or rather, insisted on) a massive salary hike, the team hasn't been able to win a game. Just to give you an idea of the national team's recent form: Indonesia 1 - 0 MozambiqueOman 4 - 0 MozambiqueNigeria 4 - 0 MozambiqueMozambique 1 - 2 CameroonThat’s four games and four losses, with only a single goal scored across all of them. I really don't know what the bookmakers are thinking by offering such high odds for a Senegal win, but it works out well for me since I bet on Senegal. I’ve included them in my parlay. Currently, the odds stand at @1.35 for a Senegal win and @8.20 for a Mozambique win. Nigeria - Madagascar
I placed a bet on a Nigeria win at odds of @1.20. Even though Nigeria sometimes drops points against opponents they should easily beat on paper—despite the high quality of their squad—I still consider Madagascar a team that Nigeria can defeat. Madagascar's recent results have been poor: Morocco 4 - 0 MadagascarEquatorial Guinea 1 - 1 MadagascarThese were friendly matches, but they have also lost official games against strong opponents. That is why I expect Nigeria to win this match. I heard that Victor Osimhen won't play because of an injury; I’ve always said he is very talented, but with these frequent injuries, he won't get signed by top clubs. He reminds me a lot of Gabriel Jesus, who didn't play regularly at Arsenal due to injuries and had to leave; he didn't play much at the start at Barcelona either, only coming on with just a few minutes left in the match. Regarding Victor Osimhen's injury, I read this news: Gala confirm October 9 Osimhen return date source: https://punchng.com/gala-confirm-october-9-osimhen-return-date/I don't know if it's true news or not.

It's good to have a team built around someone, yes it comes with a few disadvantages but I think it's good, it has more advantages. When a team has someone they can rely on it is very good because all other players can easily just work for the player and leave the rest to him. The worst will be when other players are not doing their best for that particular player, it makes the work harder for him just as it is in Osimhen's case. Other players are not really helping much and it is why whenever Osimhen is absent they struggle to win games. Playing as a team doesn't necessarily mean they have to possess the ball, they can just easily make it their responsibility to defend hard for Osimhen and feed him all balls so he can do is thing. I think when Osimhen retires a new player will take the responsibility.

No lies Osimhen is a machine, but don’t say the team was built around him. It’s just the hype and more attention towards him. There are other too players on the team too trying. Osimhen has not consistently played for national team for sometime now, but they’ve been doing their thing even though it’s not impressive enough. I would have agreed if you mentioned his club Galatasaray, because he plays better there obviously. Same with lookman, iwobi and others. They play well in their respective clubs but struggle in national competition. Osimhen has a strong winning spirit, and I like that. When he is around, you see the energy and effort he put in. It puts his mates on their toes. He’s just unlucky with injuries and I think that’s what is limiting him from achieving a lot. Unfortunately I see him retiring very early.

I'm surprised you are having this Superstitious beliefs about Osimhen injury, actually nothing is fishy about it, do you think they are treating them like a slave on their various clubs?, injury is normal and there is nothing coincidental about it or if it was something intentionally infflicted on him, is actually a common thing that usually happen to players, I have seen players who sustain serious injury from their friendly match a week to there starting of the league. When a player have injury his club is always responsible for it so you wouldn't expect him leave Turkey and come back to Nigeria when the international break have not started.

I think you're over thinking bro. Osimhen is genuinely injured and has missed several matches for his club including the champions league opening. I don't think he's faking the injury to avoid playing for Nigeria. I would have had the same thought if he was playing for Galatasary and then claimed injured during the international break. Osimhen is the kind of player that normally turn up for Nigeria when the need arises and he's fit to play. This is one of the challenges that injury prone players usually have any time they get injured, people assume they are faking injury to avoid playing. Let just wish him quick recovery.

If the national team needs his service them both in parties dialogue and reach a common terms and move on. If he is in Nigeria then it is alright, maybe he just wants to honour the call up even if he is not futured In any of the matches.

You mean it is time they start learning how to play without Osimhen right? A team is not supposed to depend on a particular player, Osimhen is a fantastic player, he knows what he does, Maybe there is this morale he gives to the players whenever he's playing with the boys, if all hope is put on one player, it becomes a problem the player isn't around, super eagles should get used to playing without Osimhen until it master them, Osimhen will retire from football some just as you pointed out, and what will they do if he's no longer playing with them, I think it is time, the super eagles start playing as a team instead of relying on just one player.

Meanwhile aside from honoring the call, he would have still come back to Nigeria since all the players in their club must have also travel back to their various country to join with their national team on the league they would also be playing. It was unfortunate we are discussion about injury on Victor Osimhen at this time of the season when he should have been on his feet strong and ready to deliver. However I'm suspecting his replacement to be either Akor Adams or Moses Simon on the super eagles center forward.

I don't see anything fishy about the whole scenario on osimhens injury and private jet on arrival. His club side is responsible for his treatment so whatever decision they reach while in agreement is okay to go with. This is just a simple logic, he has injury and needs time to recuperate from it. If the national team needs his service them both in parties dialogue and reach a common terms and move on. If he is in Nigeria then it is alright, maybe he just wants to honour the call up even if he is not futured In any of the matches. I'm glad you comprehend my concept regarding the injury of Osimhen. Like they say actions speaks louder than words, from osimhens actions you could tell he has the national team at heart and even with his injury, he came just to honour the national call up but Maduka Okoye always late to camping. For this reasons he was dropped while Nwabali takes over as the number choice keeper of the national team. Okoye arrived camp today and would not be featured in any of the two matches. This was the same issue he had with the former coach for his late camping and he was dropped out of the national team by the then head coach. Rumours online has it that he was captured with with one of the female artist partying. While another rumour online has a different story entirely.

Victor Osimhen from beginning like the National Team and enjoy playing and that was why when Finidi George didn't used him in the 2025/26 Qualifiers, he got problem with him. And really when Augustine Eguavoen became the interim coach of the Super Eagles and Victor Osimhen was included in the team and im do am well. Any player who is serious about the team must co.e on time and not to come late for training. If they want to do extra sports activities, they can do it after the match or in their leisure times (break period).

This current Super Eagles team was built around Victor Osimhen, and the team depend on Victor Osimhen to win matches
While I agree Super Eagles are dependent on Osimhen, I don’t buy the idea that the team was built around him. Which of the managers built that system? Eguaveon? Finidi George? The reason why you may believe that is because Osimhen is a player that can single-handedly change the trajectory of a game. Nigeria has not played like a team for years, we have individually brilliant players but cannot win competitions. It’s not the fault of Osimhen rather it’s a management issue.

The CAF Nations cup qualifiers matches just kicked off and nobody is talking about the matches that was played today. I thought this thread is about discussions concerning African football and not only Nigeria.
Anyways, here is the results of the matches that was played today:
DR Congo Vs Equatorial Guinea played 2:0 Sierra Leone Vs Zimbabwe played 2:3 Ivory Coast Vs Ghana played 2:0 Mauritania Vs Central African Republic played 3:1 Tunisia Vs Uganda played 1:1 Libya Vs Botswana played 2:2 Cameroon Vs Comoros played 3:1 Namibia Vs Congo played 1:0
The match that surprised me most was the match between Sierra Leone Versus Zimbabwe because Sierra Leone won the first half with 2:0 only to return back for second half and Zimbabwe equalized and still won. It was really a great comeback by the Zimbabwe team. It's been long I see that kind of comeback.
Nigeria will face Madagascar tomorrow, hope they win that match.
