I don't think there is a team or country that does not have any challenges in one way or the other, but some are being managed effectively to the extender it does not escalate to the entire people and their supporters, there are other complicated teams and countries whose performance are below average and yet they are doing better because we could not know the exactly situation of what is happening from within their players and the team needs, it all depends on how everything is being handled and taken of utmost priority.
Thats true.  Every team has it own challenge but the problem is when the challenge of the team is being neglected. When the challenge the team is facing is not giving attention it makes the situation to become worse but when the challenge is being managed it makes the team to be able to bounce back. Teams thst are hsving serious challenge is because the management is not putting their best they can to make the team become better.
There are no teams and their local organizers that doesn't encounter some sort of problems once in a while but when the problem lingers for a very long time and the solution is not far fetched yet the organizers choose to ignore their responsibilities the impact of their failure will show in the team's performances. Maybe some of our players are losing form and it is affecting our team's performance but due to the attitude NFF we put all the blame on none performance on them, our national teams and the NFF needs a total overhauling to restore our national glory. The problem of Nigeria, have always been lack being proactive and corruption, both players and NFF have to step up their games so that we can be seeing results.

Having issues in team is different and how it is handled is also another problem which how to know how effective and proactive the management is.
In the club football, we have seen the performance of some teams, how difficult it has been for them to catch up, it just the team management that should be blamed most times, once the management fail to do what they are supposed to do, then it is easy for the lapses to be noticed by the general public, unfortunately these has be talked about different times and nothing has been done.

Nigeria has a good team but the management including the football governing body seems to be the issue facing the dwindling state of the national team. It is so bad now that it has affected the female team as well. Just imagine our key players were ignored from the CAF award list .
I don't think the coach is the issue though because he is really trying his best to reform the team but there is limit to which he can do which means to some extent he can not do some certain things without seeking permission from the football body of the nation and we all know the current state of their affairs which is not welcoming.
Nigeria has a good team but are the team willing to play for Nigeria, the management(Coaches) are the worst in the world but the federation in charge of Nigerian football is extremely bad and corrupt.
But about the CAF award list there is an obvious winner and that's Hakimi.
I like as you agreed the coach isn't the issue but you also need to put blames on the Nigerian players because they haven't played well for Nigeria.

The players too needs to double up their efforts too. Although I see sometimes they just play like they are not motivated and that is most times as a result of the fact that the governing body does not take their welfare and other bonuses seriously which can also affect their performances. Check out how these sets of player's display for their various clubs compared to what they play for their national team. I will also call your attention to how they are properly attended to at their clubside compared to how they are attended to at national level. All these are just what I think should be looked into to make sure there is a solemn resolution between all parties involved as far as football is concerned in our country.

We cannot underestimate the influence of a good welfare package on the players psychology and performance,  if a player or team is treated well, it boost their capacity and keeps their minds and confidence in the management of the team firm and will further motivate them into putting the effort they will be needing to deliver results that is expected,  when the welfare of these players aren't taken seriously,  they will have nothing to play for, the motivation dies down so bad that they may even want to think of leaving. It's high time the Nigerian government and the sports body take the management of the team seriously enough to be called priority if they want to keep football alive and make people believe in the team again.  The welfare package they are given in their various clubs is such thay makes them understand they have to deliver as the team has paid the price already for them to perform, that's unlikely what we see in the National team here.

All of our sports sectors, it is different leveled of complaints learn of, about how players or athletes are not paid their allowances after representing the country in Africa or global competitions.

Let me ask, how does a country who treat its athletes or players this bad, without providing for their welfare grow? I am asking because I feel that our country is far from getting it right in the sports industry without thinking of being corrupt

This I believe is the major problem with the reason why it seems the player's are not putting their best in performance
I noticed some players do try their best to see how they can coordinate their fellow players but still yet it seems their efforts are greeted nonchalantly and that alone kills their moral to do more.
This issue has already affected the female team too and they dropped already. The last tournament we watched wasn't encouraging, they didn't really play with full enthusiasm, their morale was down. The government didn't fulfill their promises to them and it was just a few days ago the the government gave them the promise they made to them after a long while. You see, most of these things makes these players to think that the government does not take them serious whenever their bonuses, welfare and salaries are delayed like that. It gives them double thought and weakens their morale to put much efforts.

The women are better than the men in international football. We always blame the NFF without blaming the men representing the country. The men are obviously getting better attention and more treatment than the women, but why are the women doing better than the men? It shows that the problem is in the people managing the affairs of the senior team. We need people who love the country. People who are passionate about doing their job, not people who want to benefit from holding positions.

FIFA women’s under 17 World Cup update
The Nigerian U-17 women’s team (The flamingos) have just made it to the finals of the FIFA women’s World Cup after thrashing Brazil a whopping 3:1 in the semi finals. On Sunday the 7th of October 2026, they will be playing against the Japanese side in a must win fixture for the flamingos.

As our super eagles and the super falcons are disappointing us already, we have these ones that are making us proud. Truly, the future of the Nigerian female football team is in safe hands.

When I saw the news of the flamingos heading to the finals of the under-17 women World cup, it brought some smile to my face, this is because Nigeria is one country that is worldly known for producing talented football players both in the men and women football, but for the last couple of years we've had a backdrop in nearly all competitions. I'm just having an open mind in this our encounter against the Japanese team, anybody can win but I'm happy for the fact that we are proving a point to have gotten to the finals in the first place.

Every team or country has a problem, and if you think that Nigeria is the only country its football problems has escalated you might be wrong because other countries their fans could be complaining the same way Nigerians are complaining about the poor performance of the super eagles and poor management of Nigeria football by the NFF executives, since you are in these countries or have friends in these countries you will not know, if the NFF can handle the super eagles' problems in the right way i believe the super eagles will improve its performance.

I don't blame the players so much. Almost every industry in Nigeria has been infected with corrupt practices. Currently, the corruption going on in NFF is not different from what our politicians are doing here in Nigeria. Players welfare is very important if we want the best from the boys but it's unfortunate they don't care. The money is there but they keep delaying the salary of the coach Eric Chile. As we speak, there are unpaid wages spanning multiple months and even players bonuses are still unpaid. How do you expect maximum output from these players including the coaching staff. Until these issues are fixed I can't fully blame the boys or the coach for their performance.
I think you’re making sense and I can also agree that the NFF has not be doing things right from scouting player to inviting the once abroad to come and represent the country in international duties. I also want to add that our domestic leagues in Nigeria is also affected by the politics around football. Football use to be game of talent, and if you’re talented you could grow and the world will eventually get to see you, but unfortunately it doesn’t work like that in most part of Africa. politics have taken over the whole thing because people realises the opportunity in the game. competency is now overlooked and its who you know that matters. if you watch our local league, the number of talented you’ll find across many teams will just leave you in awe. Until we remove politics, favoritism from the game, we will never get it right in Africa and Nigeria in particular.
The politics we're seeing football and the experience upcoming footballers have doesn't surprise ne anymore.
Because it feels to me that if you don't have the connection to play nationally it's not easy to be there. And when you see these young talented local footballers get to that level it's  by grace and effort they put in playing. I know alot of good players in my locality that put alot of efforts in the game to be seen and selected to play nationally and internationally. But because of politics they're still there. I hope there will be a difference for these local players to be seen and selected.

I don't trust Galatasaray anymore because in the last international break they also said that Victor Osimhen was injured and the international break is also about to resume and they are announcing an injury for Victor Osimhen. Are they deliberately doing this just so that Osimhen won't travel for the international duty? I think there's an understanding between Osimhen and Galatasaray but we will get to find out if it happens again in the next international break after this one. I don't think the injury that Victor Osimhen got in the match against Stuttgart was enough to rule him out of the international duty. If he's trying to boycott playing for the Super Eagles he should just make it clear instead of using injury as an excuse.
