Oops I fucked up with the update, working on tons of things at once made a simple honest mistake

https://github.com/chrisfranko/Saturncoin/blob/master/src/main.cpp#L900

is supposed to be if not an else if. So we can do a couple things here, we can either gloat in our misery or change it to an if , orphan a couple blocks and move on. What does everyone want to do?

The fix has been merged at https://github.com/satdev/Saturncoin

You can go ahead and recompile from source now. We will provide updated QT wallets later today.

Withdrawals on mintpal still doesn't work.

I really start to loose faith in this coin, I bought at 2 SATs and was very happy with the coin reduction and all those new stuff like POS transition, SAT multipool...

Anyway, I know DEVs are working hard and I hope we will soon start to see some nice changes.

Update

We have released a wallet update, which is now available in source, Windows QT and Mac QT:

Source
Windows wallet
Mac OS X wallet

It is recommended to update your wallet as soon as possible. All wallets have been tested thoroughly in the past hours and have been confirmed to be working properly.

We have confirmed with miners and pools that the mining reward is now working as it should, which can also be seen in the block explorer: http://213.179.192.62/chain/Saturncoin

Suchpool (http://saturn.suchpool.pw) has confirmed they are using the latest wallet - if you are looking to mine on a pool we recommend to use them. Dedicatedpool has not confirmed yet. As soon as Dedicatedpool has also confirmed that they are running on the latest wallet, we recommend balancing out your hashes between the pools.

Cryptsy has also confirmed they have updated. Mintpal will be rolling out the update shortly.

This should be the final update before we switch to the new PoS blockchain. Our developers are very busy making all the preparations and we will be able to share some updates about this soon.

Additionally, on top of the plan of action that was previously announced, we have some very exciting news coming up. We can't share this just yet, but I can tell you that everyone who has invested in Saturncoin will benefit from this. Before we can share this news, we are first actively monitoring to blockchain and communicating with all involved parties to ensure smooth operations. If all goes well, we should be able to share this news by tomorrow Cool

Withdrawals on mintpal still doesn't work.

That's correct. Please take note of the fact that when an exchange needs to roll out a new wallet, there is some work involved on their end. It's absolutely critical for any exchange that they rule out accepting transactions from a bad chain (fork), as this could result in them accepting deposits (and sending out withdrawals) from a bad chain. As such, during this process, they temporarily suspend deposits and withdrawals, which allows them to rule out problems. This doesn't affect your coins in any way, other than a delay. So just to be clear: this is not related to SAT, this is simply a maintenance procedure at the exchanges (which applies to every coin on every exchange).

With that said: it would perhaps be a good idea if exchanges would me more verbose in terms of indicating their wallet status in their interface, since most exchanges do not seem to provide a clear indication of their wallet statuses. We'll suggest this as a feature request to our exchanges. If you think this is a good idea, it would probably be helpful to contact your favorite exchanges with the same feature request (since the more people request something, the more likely it'll get attention/priority).

You will most certainly see some nice changes. The most beautiful parts of our plans have not been revealed yet. In light of the hints I was giving in my previous post (about upcoming news): let's just say that what you've seen happening recently may just not have been as chaotic as what it looked like Wink More to come soon!

Great great great. Thx for indicating the pool too. The diff is low, the payout is excellent I'm back to mining the last rounds. As you can see I'm all smiles too.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Update

Mintpal will be rolling out the update shortly.

I have the last fresh install empty wallet with many coins stuck processing on withdrawal from mintpal.

Should I update to the new new (yesterday) wallet, or wait for the withdrawal to complete and then update?  I don't want to loose my coins if the deposit address change mid transfer.

Thanks!

This matter has already been discussed with Suchpool yesterday. We feel like their statement of "till dev fix this" is premature - we are by no means convinced that this is a problem with the wallet (also not ruling anything out).

Suchpool said:

  • Most of their automated payouts work fine. Only every once in a while the payout produces an error
  • They have experienced the exact same issue with a different coin in the past
  • When they manually pay out the exact same transaction that had previously failed, it works fine
  • They have literally stated that they are too busy with DRK to spend time on this

On top of that, we are not able to reproduce the problem they are having. We have sent numerous payments between different wallets, none of which produced an error.

With that said: the chances that this is a wallet related problem seems rather small. At the other hand, we aren't ruling anything out, and our devs are currently investigating this matter. It's simply premature to conclude anything while there is a significant chance that the problem is on the pool's side.

I also want to emphasize that we aren't blaming Suchpool for being too busy with their DRK pool. From a commercial standpoint it simply makes sense that they give priority to a coin that has a much higher hashrate. It would just be nice if they would not draw premature conclusions about the wallet being at fault until there is a reasonable certainty that this really is the problem.

Our most recent suggestion to Suchpool has been that they try to reindex the blockchain on their wallet to see if this resolves the problem. We haven't heard back from them yet about this (timezone differences, their admins appear to be sleeping at the moment), but we will continue to work with them on this when they are available. Additionally, our devs are trying to find a way to reproduce the problem on other wallets (since if we know that the problem doesn't only occur on their wallet, that would be reason to believe it's not just a problem on their end). Also, if anyone else is experiencing a similar issue, please report the specifics so we can investigate.

In the meanwhile, we recommend miners to consider solo mining (e.g. mining directly to your wallet rather than through a pool). If anyone needs assistance with setting this up, please let us know, we'd be glad to lend a hand.
