The world we live in is evolving and changing fast. more people are earning income from their phones and laptops like never before. We all experienced COVID and saw how it affected the economy. Yes companies had to close but few stood their ground due to the fact that they had online workers who could attend to we the buyers/consumers without being in an office.
People are now acuring skills such as coding, free lancing, web development, programming and many more. Not just because their sick and tired of office work but because technology has made it possible for anyone to work anywhere, some even anytime. and earn without stepping into an office.
But my question remains. Are online jobs the future of global employment, or you see it as a phase just passing by.

Surely online job is the futuristic technology that makes it possible for many people to work at the convenient of their homes. Although this does not mean that physical job are not important as well or are not futuristic, but the fact is that many will prefer physical job to online job since they find pleasure in it. Online job has reduced unemployment rate in the society and the important part is that it has created employment for both able and disabled people expecialy disabled people who can not do physical work, it has solve alot of problem for many people, indeed online job is very important. I have wished to work online job remotely from home and am glad I can now work from home even though the amount I get is not that much as I expected but I will learn more online skill to earn bigger. Online works is really the best because it save you cost of transportation , stress and day to day expenses and reduces the risk of getting into unforseen circumstances that will have emanated from the process of going to and fro.

I just wanted to say that not all people prefer online work over office work. Some people, when they have opportunity to choose,would rather spend time in office to be in better contact with their colleagues and to keep in a loop.

Also some people tend to be more productive in ofice atmosphere in comparison to more leisurely home office (or cafe bar).

That being said I think that remote work is here to stay as technology enabled that option and nothing will change that as long as we have electricity and stabile internet connection.

It is true that not everyone likes working remotely and many people prefer working in an office because it offers some great benefits. Such as improving communication skills, having a professional working environment and high concentration. In particular, there are many opportunities to develop yourself and prove your abilities to the company to increase your chances of promotion.

But working remotely also has its own advantages, I think it will become a trend in the future, not just a temporary trend or simply existing.


Although it cannot completely replace office work, it will be the mainstream trend in the future. Because working remotely will save both companies and employees a lot of money and time. Especially for businesses, because it will help them significantly reduce costs such as office rental and equipment, premises...Not to mention, recruitment will no longer be limited, they can recruit globally instead of just recruiting regionally or domestically like office jobs.

Covid really opened our eyes to lots of things. I specifically knew that the way forward is online. I live in a country where the major jobs that are recognised are jobs with physical settings. But since covid 19 incident, alot changed. No one wants to be taken unawares anymore. This is not a topic for debate, online jobs are the future.  Currently, lots of agencies are pushing towards online, it is for everyone to adapt to the new world so they can fit in.

The flexibility in time or work most of the people move towards online jobs. Especially after the covid world has changed and they shifted work from office to home , it not only reduce the expense of investor like building rent electricity charges or other hospitality cost. So I think most of the jobs in future shift online except few  fields like agricultural and healthcare. So in order to meet the Global changes we have to update ourself with the trend. As you highlighted that many agencies push towards online is reality of the growing digital economy. However the developing countries face challenges. If  they want to increase the economy growth they have to bring the betterment in the internet connection. As  all the online businesses is depend on the internet . It doesn't have to be anytime soon, but even now, I think many people are already making money online. I'm sure there are people in your community who are already making money online, and that's actually a good step, because anyone can make money online if they're determined. And even those who can't do it can if they have the will and determination.

There are jobs which can't be done remotely, you are not going to get your car fixed remotely (well electronic cars are actually getting some fixes that way lmao) so some people will have to go to work forever, that won't change. But, all these office works? I am not entirely sure if we really need them, like what's the benefit of having the person at the office, if he or she can do the same job at home?

And in that case, after pandemic, many people moved back to offices but many stayed at home. And companies realized, they can hire anyone from anywhere in the world, while paying less for offices, and they can profit a lot more. Less rent cost, less wage cost, what is not to like for them? There was a time when people did not understand the progress of online work but now people can do everything easily online. For example, if we talk about us, we will say that our employment is done through online, we are also earning from online and with that income we are fulfilling all our needs. The evolvement of online employment amidst technology is getting great every day.. Ideas and interests growing frequently to partake in online employment and incorporation of the online space is building more online employments. However, with all that going on, saying that a time will come when 95 percent of the world population will earn online is highly outrageous.
Online job requires some certain skills and interest that can't be readily available no matter the need to make more money which is one of the major drive for online earnings.

One of the essential goal of every organization is cost saving and to archive this different strategies needs to be mitigated and implemented properly. People are too hype with it and romanticizing everything about AI and replacement of jobs. Not every job is going to adopt online work because just like what you have said, there are jobs that still requires physical presence and appearance of the worker and we know that. The workforce that requires people to be present in the right time is there and we know that it's going to take a while until all jobs that are transitioning into online work become into one. To be honest, I like digitalization and online work but not every employee are liking to do and work with that setup.

Companies may find loopholes to keep work more coordinated and less expensive, but this also requires human input, as not all work can be completed online.

Also, not all employees enjoy working with this system, so some adjustments are necessary. No one knows how this will play out in the future, as our job isn't to predict the future but to adapt to meet any challenges that arise. Technology is indeed advancing, but if human resources are limited, this won't work well, as it will be quite difficult to keep up.

While I applaud the innovation that AI has brought because it made a lot of work very easy. But what matters is that we have to look for the specific skills that's applicable to us. If we want to work from home, there are a lot of those jobs that we can search but if it's not our preference, don't worry because there are still a lot of jobs as well that prefer to do things on the actuality to an area and not applicable doing at home. And one thing with this job market that changes from time to time as well, we need to adapt with what the demand requires.

This remind me of many remote area workers Elon Musk sent off immediately he purchased Twitter that is no X. During the lock down, many business admins and other online personalities start doing job online, it be came a norm that every company now want to emulate but as the economy returned back to normal, it seems companies have now come back to their norm. The number of remote jobs has decreased, maybe there is more but as far I can remember, some friends I used have that are remote based have went back to office. The only guy I have now that is doing remote jobs is working with one NGO as their representative here, and also he is in charge of their graphics design here since he understands how this place is run together with the culture, the rest are back to work in offices.

Getting a job that we do at home is one of the comforts I've had where I became a photo editor whose way of promotion I also utilized the internet, this really helps if we can use it well. But even working at home gets boring if it's too long. I myself sometimes look for new air by working outside because once in a while it needs to be done for me.

And yes, it's true what you said, transactions can be done online and we can even buy things that are not in our country as long as we are careful not to be deceived. But with physical work there are some that cannot be done online as well as transactions.

We have advanced technology now and in the future it will get even better and many people will that have the skills that the online space needs would definitely make it big but that doesn't mean that office jobs can be replaced, we need offline workers even more to survive in every nation. Offline workers are very underrated even though they are the most important people that should be recognized because they do the hard work, there are production companies everywhere and they are in charge of producing the food we eat and other basic things we need to live our lives so do you think we would be able to do without the offline workers? Online job is not the future of global employment and it's not a phase that would pass either because it is here to stay but it definitely isn't replacing offline jobs.
