We will definitely never pay anyone, we would rather invest that money in better DDoS protection than pay a ransom.
I believe a good DDoS protection mechanism is needed for all instant swaps because the centralized exchanges and other competitors might use tactics like DDoS attacks to destroy a platform. Something that b1exch created is needed for SageSwap as well, a home based DDoS protection system that stops those DDoS attackers.

We're actually doing pretty well right now, according to BitList, we haven't had any downtime for the past two months.

Do you know if using the centralized exchange to convert your crypto will be much cheaper than using the swap services?

Do you know that except you’re sending out there was actually no real swap at done? The exchange Simply changes the details only, that’s why they are never any transaction hash for that move. But try to swap ETH to BTC and then send that BTC out to your wallet, if this is done then compare that with using SageSwap and see which has lower fees.

Two months without any DDOS attack might not seem a great deal to people but it’s a big milestone for starting decentralized platform like SageSwap considering how new platforms like this are attacked everyday with hundreds of DDOS attacks.

A good one, I will say

Good to hear that, in two months site has shown good online presence and that means there might be some type of in house DDoS solution for the site because a platform gaining attention like SageSwap is often attacked by the competitors but thankfully the site is doing well and that matters in the end. However, it's always needed to improve the protection of the site because when it gets more exposure then those eyes will also see it that are against no kyc services like SageSwap. Wish to see a useful platform like SageSwap online for long time!  Smiley

Interestingly, usually similar raffles fill up very quickly.
Is it possible that a simple task like verifying the letter of guarantee is an obstacle to more interest in this raffle?

btw. Speaking of PGP verification, why is it not possible to verify a mirror link signed message on bitlist?

SageSwap has two PGP keys, one for orders and one for support: https://sageswap.io/pgp

Usually services use the same key for everything, which is why there is only support for a single PGP key per service on BitList. We can always work our way to change that, though... we'll see. Smiley

Yes, it is clear what is happening.
Given that the verification of original links is a rather sensitive matter, perhaps the same PGP key should still be used. Or if it's possible, you can add the option of verification and another PGP key to bitlist.co

2 months of successfully rejecting DDoS attacks is a really good result and an indication that the SageSwap team knows what they are doing and that their DDoS protection mechanism is very good and works.
This is very important for users, in order to increase trust and confidence in the service.
It would be interesting to find out who is behind these DDoS attacks, other competitors or hackers hoping for a ransom.
SageSwap, do you have any ideas?

Of course, grandma will not use crypto services.
As for this service, SageSwap, in my opinion, anyone who wants to preserve their privacy and not share their personal information with the authorities will use it, not just users with a lot of funds in crypto wallets.

Yes anyone can use it, in fact I don’t understand why the quoted post even emphasizes on people with big funds, I have swapped as little as $20 to bitcoin on SageSwap, imagine using this centralized entities where you would have to pay erroneous fee to get this bitcoin to my personal wallet, I think I will actually advice or call for non KYC platforms like this than those centralized entities for small funds too

Do you know if using the centralized exchange to convert your crypto will be much cheaper than using the swap services?

However, people want to use a decentralized swapping service to remain anonymous, and services like SageSwap are the best for this, as they do not require KYC. That is another reason people don't mind paying a little extra, but getting the anonymity.
Lately, I've been reading a lot of reviews about coin locks on centralized exchanges. You can buy KYC from another service or pay someone else to do it, but that doesn't guarantee the exchange's reliability.
If I were looking for cheaper options, I'd probably use centralized exchanges, but I use SageSwap because I don't want to worry about coin locks.

That would be hard to tell, since Sageswap is not a kyc service, so there is no way they can get enough information about users to make a strong guess. Not that it matters to identify who's behind it though.
Lately, I've been reading a lot of reviews about coin locks on centralized exchanges.
That has been going on forever. Your funds can always be confiscated in any centralized exchange and for any flimsy reason for that matter.

It can be anyone from the Internet. Similar DDoS services and tools are advertised and sold. I'm pretty sure that some of those who are behind certain attacks on crypto services known to us are also present on this forum. There have already been cases where some services suffered attacks shortly after it was introduced on Bitcointalk.

Cloudflare may be the source of DDoS attacks to promote its products or to reduce the privacy of services because it acts as an intermediary and records everything. Tor browser is good for those who want privacy and is necessary if the service supports Cloudflare.

Yes, no one knows who's behind such inhumane things against a good service but of course we know that there're people who are against privacy and they don't want a platform to exist that provides high level of privacy. Since, that same attack can be done by other competitors and that's why it's not right to blame anyone for it, the best approach is to have a protection against such DDoS attacks.

I honestly doubt that. Do they really need to pay god knows who to attack instant exchanges just so that they get a new customer? How much does it actually for their DDOS protection? It just sounds unlikely.

Is it possible that a simple task like verifying the letter of guarantee is an obstacle to more interest in this raffle?
I won't be surprised if that's actually the case. The number of times I see people get discouraged from 10 minutes activity is quite high. I also get lazy for no reason, even if the contest is so simple (like a price prediction contest, for example).

I think people might be uncertain about the requirements. The first time they did the contest, I assumed you needed to complete the swap for your entry to count. It wasn’t until I read through the comments that I found out it wasn’t necessary.

Instant exchanges aren’t something that the average person is using all the time, so naturally you are going to have fewer participants if people believe they are going to have to do an exchange that they otherwise wouldn’t be making at that moment.

I doubt cf would launch a ddos attack against a service that isn't very well known, and probably illegal in some countries lol

I guess that's possible. I feel like it's quite common to see people misread things or not read them at all. Not sure if it's just a biased experience of mine or what. I'd assume people who actually use a service like this are quite meticulous, at least when it comes to new services. I guess that's why scammers still carry out phishing attacks nowadays, since some people just aren't careful enough.
