Addicted gambler can only solve this unhealthy gambling if he also not to reject anything he get from people around him that trying to help him. As far as he still believe in his dream about get back anything from his losses, he will trying to ignored any advice for him. self control and decision is a must to control him self from addiction. But, for me beside of good advice, religion, social or family, his effort to quit from his addiction is necessary.
You are correct that when anyone will support financially the person would not be able to stop gambling and there is a chance to stop gambling if there is no one who might help him/her or support him/her by funding. But at the same time when no one support the gambler the gambler may turns into bad side eg: hijacking, trafficking and so on.

It's good if for example you have tried it but unfortunately you don't see directly whether the method has succeeded in helping your friend or not but of course our hope is that gamblers who are addicted can immediately realize it and change for the better.
You are right that someone will find it easier to forget about gambling when they have other activities and this is also evident in myself, previously I managed to get out of the addiction zone one of them in this way, even I almost did not give myself any free time because usually the desire to gamble often arises when we are bored.
Trying to manage our free time productively, which is a successful event, proves the idea that being busy is one of the most important measures to prevent the impulse to do something. You are correct that boredom many times can be a significant stimulus when we do not realise that we have a definite purpose. I believe it was a personal experience that testifies unmistakably about the fact that lifestyle changes can be quite useful during a recovery process. When you are busy in life, negative thoughts are automatically pushed back. We hope every person will manage to be busy in his/her own way. Yes, keeping yourself busy is indeed one of the effective ways to avoid gambling and besides that I also have two other ways that have successfully helped me to get out of addiction, which are by deleting all data on my cellphone such as deleting search history on Google and clearing all incoming messages to emails from casinos, the last is by building boundaries between me and people who like to gamble such as some friends, I do not hesitate to exclude myself from the gambling environment when I am really serious about my intention to stop and I hope all gamblers can do the same.

What a crazy idea to send a person to prison to cure his gambling addiction. Even though prison supposed to be correctional facility, it cant cure or correct greed or mind. I might say that this is very cruel to suggest prison as way to help addicted gambler. Gambler might stop gambling (very little chance) there, but people who surround him there will teach him much worse things. Or they will use his gambling addiction against him.

Not at all in fact, he would be angrier with his father and would continue this as an act of revenge. If you send him to jail, he will definitely find some way to gamble there, and you won't notice it. So, the best way is to let him gamble under his father's supervision, and his father has to set a suitable amount for him. When he exceeds that limit, the father should take him out of the casino. Every week, the father should reduce that fixed amount, and after gambling, he should engage him in other activities, like working for money, etc. An addictive person cannot be detached suddenly from gambling, so you can do it slowly and gradually, so that he wouldn't notice it, and his desire for it will reduce over time.

Do you guys think such method will be effective or cause more harm to the person itself.
While growing up, I saw some parents who did similar thing to their children. Those teenagers were stubborn beyond description. Anyway, some of those kids ran away from home as soon as they got back from detention, while some had a change of heart and attitude from there. I think the effect or repercussion of such an act can't be predetermined as we may not know how those punished would behave. For me, I don't see anything wrong if a parent does that but the detention or punishment shouldn't be for a long time. Otherwise, you end up toughing them more. I don't support the two-year the father talked about but sincerely, I ain't against such punishment. If you can't discipline your kids, allow someone you think can discipline them. Don't just allow them free with indisciplined behaviour. It destroys.

I just remember how my old friend ended up in jail for not listening to a piece of advice. His addiction ruins his life, and it is something he will always remember as long as he is alive. Now that he’s been set free, I can see a real change in the way he thinks about gambling. When we talk, he says that he won’t gamble anymore. People can change, but sadly, most of us wait until we’ve gone through terrible things before we do. It is supposed to be not that way if we choose to be responsible from the very beginning.

I honestly don't know if sending an addicted gambler to prison can truly cure his addiction. But I do know that if an addicted person really wants to get rid of his gambling addiction, he will have to abstain from gambling for a long time and always protect himself from things that can lead to a relapse. By sending him to prison, the gambler may stop gambling for a while, but if the gambler does not want to get better, then sending him to prison will not really help him, he will start gambling again if he gets the chance.

Exactly, that's the main factor in order to keep you moving forward, with self-will things can be possible to take place, and with the help of those people who cares for you, with them backing your decision to move away from addiction it can be a big help, though it's going to be a tough road to take but as long as the person really wanted to be help and that will is genuine then it's doable to move yourself away from any kind of addiction.
The best way to help is through professionals; they know more. I can help with what I can tell them, but it doesn't hurt to offer any assistance Addiction is a decision made by the gambler it's a lack of emotional control and also a great lack of responsibility because we all know what we're getting into We can't play innocent. The casino is entertainment we must be aware of its dangers.

I agree with you. Gambling addiction is a kind of mental problem. If someone is sent to prison to get rid of it, he will go into a worse mental state. If a child becomes excessively addicted to gambling, then the parents should first be explained how bad this is for him. When the child himself understands that he needs to get rid of his gambling addiction, then he will try on his own and the family should be by his side to provide mental support. If necessary, he can also be taken to a psychiatrist. But it is never possible to force anyone to get rid of any addiction.
It's not even ideal for a child to be gambling but if a child is find out to be gambling, the best the parent can do is to look for a way to ask them what influence them, it could be friends or maybe they did it own their own, and how they were able to do it without the parent consent. Asking this questions will help the parent understand how they can take care of their kids better than beating them. What I have observed with kids is that the more you go hard on them, the more they hide things. Even the adult is not exceptional from this, if a person is addicted to gambling the best you can do is to ask important questions and look for a way to help them but don't give them money. The more you expose gambling addict to money the more they want to even net because that money is they see is an opportunity to get back the money they have loss and the fact that they couldn't get back the previous money, even this particular one is going to be hard.

Yup, there's always a risk if you can't control your own self, though I agree with seeking help from the professional as they have a better view about the situation, if there's a will then there's a way, the help will be effective. Most of those addicted gamblers able to cope up with the help of their love ones, the support and love leads them to realize what's they've done wrong and what's the best help that they need to resolve the issue.

An elderly man was asked in front of me if his son, who is always gambling somehow got addicted to gambling, and they tried to talk him out of it, but all to no avail, what method he thinks he can use that will be very effective, and he said he will use his military influence to get his own son arrested and locked up for at least 2 years if he stays without any means of gambling his brain will adjust by itself.
Do you guys think such method will be effective or cause more harm to the person itself.
Abstaining someone from certain behaviors or habits over a long period of time have always proven to be effective in helping the user get ride of such bad habits, such as alcohol, drugs and gambling addictions. But secondly, that individual just have to be ready and willing to stop that bad habits his/herself. Because it will be very difficult to try to get a person let-go of bad habits they are not ready and willing to let go at the moment. Because if you try to intimidate someone today, the moment you are not able to intimidate them anymore, they go back to that old habits. Hence, the perfect solution should be a proper counseling, letting the user know both the negative and positive effects of what he might be doing (e.g Alcohol, drug and gambling.

I totally agree with you Work and responsibilities can be a great distraction from gambling. When we're focused on our goals and tasks, it's easier to shift our attention away from addictive behaviors. Your business travels, sound like a great way to stay engaged and motivated, but sir my big question is what if an individual is gambling to make more profits, an individual can still get a job which cant even sustain him sir, when we talk about gambling i feeel we should also find out why people gamble in my own opinion sir
There are only two possible reasons why people gamble..that's for then fun( to relief stress) and for the money.. both are valid reasons but at the end the main goal of every gambler is to take risk and hopes that he makes profits at the end. Even if the chances of winning when it comes to gambling is very low, most gamblers still try to stay in the game. Avoiding addiction maybe easy to say than to do. But if one is smart enough to avoid over gambling and control their emotions, over time they would not become victims of irresponsible gambling habits which eventually leads to addiction. The idea is to stay in control.. This is the reality that in gambling, the chances of winning are always low and long-term profits are almost impossible. Players can never be profitable in the long run. Here, risks have to be taken, but it must be within their means, it is precisely that control that is most important. Why am I playing, how much should I stop playing, whether I have the mentality to accept losing, all these we have to follow very carefully. For those who start thinking of it as a means of income, and expect a lot from it, it is very difficult to maintain control here. Because their expectations and activities have already reached a level that is completely abnormal and unrealistic. In such a situation, we do not have the ability to make the right decisions, which makes the situation worse.

This is a special case , a prison is a correctional facility for people that have committed crimes but since this isn't a crime the only correctional facility this person needs now is a mental institute, being addicted to something is not a crime to get punished for. What the young man needs his help but people don't think the same, the mentality at which people tackle issues is different from others.

Imprisoning an addicted gambler would be the least thing on my list to do,infact I won’t consider doing it if it’s on the least on my list. When did gambling become a crime and those addicted to it referred to as criminals, they’re professional ways to tackle addiction in gambling.Addicted gamblers are suffering from financial mismanagement and imprisoning them won’t help in any way because you haven’t changed their mindset on gambling rather you’re adding more coal to the fire.Lastly, criminals are sent to the prison for correction purposes and addicted gamblers that haven’t committed any crime shouldn’t be sent there.

I agree, what will happen if you send an extremely addicted person to prison? Instead of helping them overcome their addiction, this person will suffer even greater trauma. I don't think solving problems this way is right at all. You'll be gambling with a gambler's life. That's definitely not helping.
Being in prison is undoubtedly traumatic, but you know, serving your country through a military career isn't so bad. Personally, after becoming an engineer, I wanted to be in the military, but I didn't because they told me I couldn't reach the rank of general That put me off, because I wanted to be in the air force and become a general. Why? Because I consider it the most difficult. Even so, then I started thinking that I would be serving a corrupt government, and that was another thing that stopped me.

I assume his father must have tried this before deciding to send him to prison to cure his addiction. If we think about it carefully, people who are addicted to gambling surely have many ways to get money for deposits. Setting a budget is a good strategy, but it only restrains him, it doesn't stop him, let alone cure his addiction. Every week, the father should reduce that fixed amount, and after gambling, he should engage him in other activities, like working for money, etc. An addictive person cannot be detached suddenly from gambling, so you can do it slowly and gradually, so that he wouldn't notice it, and his desire for it will reduce over time.
It takes extra attention and effort to do this, and i don't know if it will work, but it's worth a try.

Secondly, the mind, if they can get the mind busy, I mean occupied with something else thatvwil make him think out of gambling, it is a major tool that can make him lose interest in gambling because he is engaged in something more time consuming plus interesting too. I have seen someone who is nearly addicted, but don't gamble anymore because he was engaged in work that need this time all day long, and because he was too occupies, not even having a little time for himself not to talk of to go close to the system to predict anything, and with time, gave up gambling, that even when he is changed now, he doesn't even think gambling because he slowly lost interest about it unknowingly

Gambling addiction can be very hard to quite most importantly when it is combined with emotions and feeling. Using military disciplinary measures can make the case of the fellow more hardened to leave, because this can make him or her to try other ways of doing there things secretly. There are many ways to help an addicted gambler * Be friendly to them by so doing they will be able to share there experience with you * You must be able to keep secrets of what ever they tell you out of trust. * Give them every support available within your reach and when ever they need it. * Asking them what is there aim of gambling and how they intend to succeed through gambling All this steps will help them open up and therefore easy to advise them.

Although for some cases, especially for those who are severely addicted, it will be very difficult to make this a good option, but I do agree with what you said because when we have new activities, it will slowly make our thoughts not only about gambling. I had this bad habit before when the contents of my brain were only about gambling when I was in the early days of gambling, but over time when I started to fall into the gambling addiction I had a new occupation that I was interested in which made me slowly forget the ambition to continue gambling and this made me what I am now. I still gamble but the intensity is getting less and less because I might be at the point of thinking that gambling is not everything and I can still live even if I don't gamble. But I'm also not going to give up gambling (at least for now) because for me it's also quite capable of releasing my emotions and fatigue in terms of work and life so I will still gamble but the intensity is much less than when I started gambling.

A case in point is to divert attention to constructive tasks the best way of slowly coming out of the grip of negative habits. I have also observed that the busy nature of work is self destructive to desire to get back to making guesses about the uncertain consequences. It is essential to understand that environmental and lifestyle changes are vital to the cure of the mental dependency of the person. I also like the fact that the unconscious loss of interest testifies to the fact that time management is extremely valuable to our mind.
