Yeah this is the least thing people could look for and also verify if the license presented is valid, since early exit might not gonna happen. But still I doubt it can stop those scam, since if the intention of the casino is to do that heinous act well even if they have license they can still run and scam people.
May I ask all the gamblers on this board and I hope they will respond honestly: "how many times do you check whether the license of the casino you are playing at is valid?".
Pretty sure the answers will 99% "we never do".
So, any casino could simply claim they are licensed and many gamblers will take their word for it wihout verification. This is, unfortunately, how things have been going around here for too long.

Honestly, I have never checked whether a casino license was true or just a falsehood. That is mostly because I have mostly stuck to very reliable and big casinos which would have no need to falsify their license or do such fishy things.

Perhaps people should have not blindly trusted whatever Betmoco ended up saying about their licensing and take all their claims with a huge grain of salt...

I want to be honest here. I did actually check the license for this casino(Curaçao) when they announced that they got it since I was thinking of playing here. Used chatgpt, gemini, claude and grok to check whether it was a legitimate license or not.

Was busy back then which is why I ran it through AI. All except gemini confirmed that it is valid. Gemini mentioned that there is something shady about it. Majority said it was fine and AI make mistakes sometimes which is why I ignored Gemini when reverse was the truth. Smh!

Even if they are licensed, is it possible to understand their intentions? If they entered the field with the intention of scamming, then what if they have a license or not? Suppose Betmoco has a valid license, then what would be the next step for those who are now unable to withdraw large amounts? Would those who gave the license to Betmoco refund the gamblers' money? Would they help at all?

I personally have never checked a license validity before playing at a casino, but I also rarely play at non trusted casinos when they 1st launch. I want them to have some sort of reputation before I put my money at risk as we have seen too many fly by night scam operations pop up to take the risk.
With that kind of judgment, it actually makes life easier. Most casinos that gain a good reputation in the long run usually have a license, so in a way, that’s like a shortcut in the evaluation process. But still, it doesn’t replace proper due diligence.

For me, I can try a new casino, but only with a small amount first. And license is always one of the first things I look at in the beginning. This one doesn’t have it, but since the community welcomed them before, they looked honest at first.

The problem is, there are always things we don’t see coming. Just like what happened here.

I think so too since they will never allow the issue to escalate longer if they are serious on building their reputation in the forum.

We will understand if there’s truly a lot of abuse happened but they should isolate those case and allowed withdrawal from players that doesn’t have malicious activity such as signature campaign participants that has funds paid on their casino account.

They are on lurking mode now that proves this speculation.

They could try, I don't see any harm in trying. Might as well exhaust every possible option.

But I have never seen anyone who got help from off shore licenses' regulatory body. You can take a look at casino guru for instance, because they frequently try to redirect players to the license provider if there's nothing casino guru can do. Usually, this is a dead end too. Maybe if they can try to involve authorities and not just a simple email from the victims.

I think that could be their problem though, maybe they don't have enough bankroll. But that is not our problem, in worst case, that could really be their intention, no money at all as bankroll and then to scam their customers.

They might hide under their license and all of that stuff, but they could have gotten their license pay and that's why they could have said, now is the time to time to exit scam. They buy as some time to maybe create another casino and pull the same thing.

Sometimes asking AI doesn't give accurate results, but for me, I have suspected that Betmoco did not have a license from the beginning even though the OP said it was still a process from Anjouan.

Curaçao and Anjouan are different license companies.

In a previous post someone questioned whether Betmoco's license is the same as Betbuq's, did Betmoco just copy and paste the license?

Yes, that is what appears to have happened. Here is the confirmation that the license belongs to Betbuq.

It says that Betbuq is owned by NewGenx N.V., which was mentioned on the now-defunct website (I caught this in Google Cache but the site wasn't up long enough to get picked up by the Internet Archive):

I believe Gemini accurately caught that among the AI that I mentioned in my previous post which just goes to show that it's sometimes best to rely on multiple AI tech rather than relying on just one all the time. Betmoco kept throwing up such red flags since the beginning.

This was really the main attraction of the casino, aside from being no KYC. I think there was even a thread about this in the gambling section before. Some people were already doubtful and saying it might just be temporary. But honestly, even if it’s temporary, a lossback bonus with no tough rollover requirement is already a red flag. That’s basically shouting scam.

The problem is, sometimes we get blinded by the offer. We focus too much on the bonus and ignore the warnings.

That’s why when we later see posts about people getting scammed, it just shows they didn’t take the warnings seriously in the first place.
