Thanks for sharing this, now I can go back to linux :-P It means, you can reach 1.05 chains/day on overclocked Radeon 290X. This miner is crap. Earnings are getting smaller because difficulty is rising fast. http://anty.info/primecoin-charts/definitely need more work .. but what is crap is closed source miner with protection that can be bypassed since traffic is not protected... You free not to use it, I dont get people who want everything for free and bitch about it everywhere. I totally dont care about protection on my rig. And it is very rude to come here to promote other miners, which actually gets you less profit. the problem is not a question of having a miner for free, but to have the freedom to mine where we want and the way we want I'm pretty sure you're free to code your own miner, right? Then any and all specifications you have in mind could be met... Yes, as a software developer, I am very sketched about boxed software as opposed to open source. You can't pop the hood and verify that it is only doing what it says it is... (Guess you could sniff out all your network activity?) But the problem is how to compensate the developer for both the time and effort they have invested. Paying it forward didn't really work for reaperprime, did it? Someone made out w like 75 BTC and dropped development. At least w developer fees, with the developers interests tied to yours you will continued to receive updates to the miner... And you can't argue with the results although ypool leaves a bit to be desired... I think the code transparency issue of a non open source solo miner wouldn't sit too well in my head though, one of the reasons I skipped out on primeGPU...

I see discussion in this topic is about dev fee now, not about the miner itself I'm going to change dev fee address in new version to collect some statistics about popularity of new version, so please don't miss it and check for my new address in time

Probably my miner is good enough if so many people use it and don't mind paying dev fee. And for that dev fee I will do my best to make it the fastest. If you don't like it, it's a good reason to release miner that is faster than mine. Money => competition => more miners and faster miners, it's good for everyone. If you don't agree with dev fee, use "-nofee" mode or use different miner (4 different miners are already available for now). Announcement #1: in 3-5 days I'll release new version, +20...25% speed on all cards. So it will cover dev fee again and with "-nofee" option it will work even faster than current version without this option Prototype shows about 200K 4ch/h and 140 7ch/h on 290X, CPD is about 2.3, but still a lot of work required to make it stable and make it work on slower cards properly. Announcement #2: I will release solo miner. But firstly I will prepare and release another version that can work properly when we reach Diff 11, it seems we will hit it very soon and current version cannot handle it properly with good mining speed. So be patient please

OFF TOPIC: For all those winers out there that cry for 1.6 xpm per day: If there was no dev fee how can claymore develop the fastest xpm miner? You have the option for no fee so STFU.
ON topic: claymore u have my respect and apreciation for the work you have done till now and from now on. Can wait to test the new version (MOARRRR POWER)

I do give props that this miner does OC better than the other miner.
I'm fine with the dev fee, just that 10% does make a nice little side of spending cash...lol
I oc'ed to 1200 core/ 1570 mem with TRT at 331~333 with 136k 4ch/h on 20%+ powertune and 60%~75% cpu load. (MSI Twin Frozr III HD7970 OC BE with Artic Accelero Extreme 7970 gpu cooler)
Update: After letting the miner run longer, it settled down to cpu load range of 35%~50%.

Thats some good numbers... I cant go above 1100 core on any cards, i do also have exact same as yours. Could it be due to undervolted bios? If so, the juice will be turned up!

Pretty much stock voltage with the powertune. Only time I undervolt is when I was Scrypt or Scrypt-N mining. Claymore's OC better than the other miner I bought for 35 XPM, lucky I got a decent return from that miner. If your ASIC stats are good, then you should be able to OC the card decently on air cooling, I get 61.5% ASIC quality. I alternate between each miner every 24~48 hours.

Could undervolting make it slower? I have normal speeds when scrypt mining unervolted like this, but cant OC as much as alot of others. Then again, stability for long runs is more inportant than a litle speed increase. So far for me, better not OC above 1100 core. Stable with 1075-1100 core, so will not try to go above. trt goes from 360-420 on the different gpus. 7970/280x. Seems also cpu could be some botleneck?

Thanks for sharing this, now I can go back to linux :-P It means, you can reach 1.05 chains/day on overclocked Radeon 290X. This miner is crap. Earnings are getting smaller because difficulty is rising fast. http://anty.info/primecoin-charts/definitely need more work .. but what is crap is closed source miner with protection that can be bypassed since traffic is not protected... You free not to use it, I dont get people who want everything for free and bitch about it everywhere. I totally dont care about protection on my rig. If it were me I would not have released the GPU miner until I was well mined up with XPMs over time. To have an edge like a primecoin GPU miner is golden. Get some hardware to mine with and optimize it for that type of GPU and bam....mega profits. Then down the road release it and possibly charge people or just open source it so others can keep the mining momentum going.

Maybe there is an miner that is many folds more powerful than the currently release miners out there. But that's just a conspiracy theory and without no solid evidence, only that. The money makers in this crypto world are the people that produce hardware, makers of closed source miners, pools and exchange markets, that's excluding the already wealthy getting more wealthy.

Stability over speed is always important. Some times the cpu can be a bottleneck if your running more than one card.

Right, and you belive he didnt mine with it long time before public release? And you belive he hasn't more optimized version for himself? ... and good for him, everybody could learn cl programming and make miners, but didnt :-D
