Almost majority of us that are gambling have lost more than we have won during the beginning when we started gambling and till now when we must have gambled for couples of years. Casinos are the ones that are making the most money and this should be an eye opener to us that always like to gamble every time looking for an opportunity to make crazy profits from gambling.

In this poll, I don't mean the number of wins and losses, but rather how much you earned or lost (expressed in money).

That means people than are at the brake even cannot decide one since their total amount investment is still there even after series of wins and lose in their respective .

This is not with any tangible evidence, so many of us will just vote not because they actually bet or gamble, but to add to the number of votes; but most gamblers don’t keep track record especially those who trade to earn a leaving and maybe have no capital to again if they lose money to gambling, I don’t expect such gamblers to keep record.

Voted for the second option (deficit) because most of my sessions end with me burning my entire bankroll. Out of the countless gambling sites i've played at, only one of them was forced to limit my account, and that should be enough of a hint to know how bad my losses have become throughout the years.

At the same time, if I had an extra vote to spare, I would've voted for the fourth option (for fun) since I lost count of how much i've lost, and now I mostly aim to have fun, unlike back then i'd only go for the profit and winnings.

Many gamblers in this section often mention that they gamble for fun, and monetary losses don't matter to them. If you look at the poll statistics, 42% of votes claim exactly this. Perhaps this is a form of mental masochism, where gamblers seem to enjoy losing. For me, losing has always evoked negative emotions; no matter how well the game was going and I was having fun, if I end up losing, it negates any fun I had in the game. Perhaps I haven't yet reached the level of gambler to enjoy losses, unfortunately.

But honestly, I think it's some kind of mental defense mechanism to justify losses. No one wants to be (to feel) a loser (one of the posts in this discussion comes to mind).

My losses in gambling much more but still I have not given up gambling because I am managing gambling within my limits. I know that as long as a gambler manages gambling within his own limits, it will not cause much harm to him. But when someone crosses his limits, it can definitely be a cause of destruction for the gambler. There is no need to see the record of profit or loss after gambling. Because that record will not bring any advantage to the gambler but will increase regret. If the gambler manages gambling in a controlled manner from the beginning, then defeats will not cause much harm.

It's very important to know your limit during gamble so that we don't gamble with the amount we can not afford to lose all because we don't have control over it. I guess my losses are bigger than my winning numbers but I don't mind to check because it doesn't matter at all, what matters most is that I know when to gamble and when it stop. The point that I don't even chase my losses in gamble is the most important thing because chasing losses will definitely make me lose more.

I believe most gamblers have similar experience, where they start losing more money than they win, however, the main distinction lies in how a person is able to control his behavior. Gambling to the personal extent is highly essential since once when an individual begins to bet beyond the limit of what they can lose, then it is soon dangerous. My other point of agreement with the article is that one of the largest mistakes a gambler can make is to chase losses as usually he or she ends up making more losses. To my mind, winning or losing does not make a responsible gambler, but discipline and control. In case a person knows when to quit, and makes gambling not his or her livelihood but a source of entertainment, even a loss will not lead to a disaster.

If count how much loss so far in gambling I believe all gambler will quick totally from gambling how most dominance amount loss than profit, seeing the deposit history most often than withdrawal history just few transaction only. Avoid quick from gambling surely all gambler don't count with how much losses in gambling or make bit comparison in last several week, month until last several years how much money spent out for deposit and withdrawing.
I check the vote many user respond about gambling have fun only and don't count how much loss, I think many user prefer for voting this points than count how much loss since active become gambler.

It is a certainty that everyone who gambles will experience more losses than wins, so the amount of losses will definitely be greater than the amount of profits. I occasionally manage to win, sometimes large amounts, but that does not compensate for all the losses I have experienced.

In my opinion, it is rare for people to gamble carefully enough to keep track of their losses and gains. Even if they did, I wonder what the point would be, since the losses would inevitably be greater.

Of course that is the real truth and who can sincerely come out to say they have win more than they have lost, if such persons exist, they are few because as we know, we encounter more losses than winning in gambling and that is why we are adviced to gamble with what we can afford to lose so that we do not go after our losses which may result to more disaster for us, you made a good decision by not counting losses, actually it does not worth our time for sure that is why I do not really fancy keeping record of my gamble, some persons track that but I wonder how they feel when they look at those record, I gamble, I already know that losing is a sure thing, although we have times we win too but it can not be compared to our loses but I do not allow it bother me to because I gamble with what I can afford to let go.

I chose the neutral option because I generally don't lose large sums and rarely win significant amounts. For me, gambling is more of an exciting hobby and interesting exploration than a way to make money. I believe most people shouldn't take gambling too seriously. By that I mean, gambling shouldn't be viewed as a long-term earning option. Over the long term, 99% of people will lose their capital.

I gamble for fun and don't count the money

I do gamble for fun for the sake of fun and entertainment but we cant be able to ignore sometimes that whenever we do lose up then we would be trying out to chase those loses on which it would be resulting into making up even more deposit and this is something which is that very common for most gamblers and most of the time we do end up on having regrets at the end just because of what we have done. Winner or loser, it doesnt matter as long you are that making use of the amount that you can afford to lose then this is the most important thing of all. We do usually forgot this basic thing and we've been blinded with our emotions and greed and thats why we do end up on failing up on having that self control and moderation. Never ever make yourself that thinking that you can make easy money with gambling because house do always win at the end.

Okey lets see, I dont usually gamble a lot but there was a time where I get kind addicted to sportbetting because I think it was just a little fair game compared to the casino games on a gambling websites where I dont really know anything about the code of it, it could easily be rigged and most of the time i would surely just going to lose everything if I bet on it. The sportbetting was also fun since I usually just bet on the sport that Im already watching or let, I dont really count anything but I dont really remember a very huge lose of money since I am a very careful guy, I just dont bet more than 10 - 20$ so I always pay safe, I mostly just remember my huge win probably around 300$ on gambling, and some 100$ on combo bets. But when I lose I just lose 10 or 20$ most of the time, I think it was still a lot even though I dont really feel like losing a lot, but it might be just a breakeven I think.

Still, the winning is the only thing that I remember, so I feel like I was winning most of the time, and I do withdraw that huge amount of money then buy something expensive so I always feel like I win a lot because I bought something like a gadget using the gambling money.

In gambling, there is no how one won't experience loss and gain, infact more of loss and this won't not even make most gamblers to quit from gambling, even when they know that they can outsmart the system which will make them to win more and have less loss, instead any money gamblers spend is for the casinos owners which are the ones that do make more money than the gamblers, which you are right about it and that is why if the gamblers will stick to the guidelines of gambling by gambling with amount they afford to lose and not to also chase after their losses, etc, this will help them to enjoy the gambling more.

Making profit from gambling is not something that easy. Most people think of it but never happens most time. Gambling for fun is more preferable as it enable you not too overlook it when you lose.

It’s hard to count if the losses are already huge especially if it happened in the past. The gambling for fun is much easier approach as an answer since it makes you forgot past bad memories of your losses.

Honestly, I don’t know if I’m on positive or negative PnL now since I do lose and win in the past so I stop tracking everything and go with the flow to have fun.

What I’m sure is I’m not spending money on gambling that I can’t afford to lose so I leave it that way to gamble just for fun.

You didn't specify the timeframe, and it seems you meant "all this time," right?

If so, then I'd answer: a loser (in deficit). Well, I think the poll the OP created is a good enough reference to gauge the majority gambling status. In fact, a person can actually determine their gambling status by recalling the comparison between major losses and major wins they have had. So, I don't think there will be any answers or votes for number 4. Essentially, I am sure every gambler knows exactly, when they have lost a significant amount of money in a gambling session. Therefore, I suggest you recall instances of major losses or major wins to compare, so the poll can clearly be seen in numbers 1 through 3.

Are you sure that 98% of gamblers lose ? That maybe true and also probably wrong but the truth is as a gambler you are bound to either win or lose sometimes you might lose over a period of time and the other times you might keep the win too over a period of time but however the case maybe the loses are inevitable and wins too even if they might not seem to be a guarantee but then wins are also expected.

Without counting it at all, i am already very sure that i have lost more money than i have gained. In fact i avoid counting it, because not only is it a waste of time, but it can also cause regret over the money that has been lost. The most important thing is to be aware of the risks, as long as the goal is to have fun, then it's okay. So i choose to gamble for fun and don't count the money.

Actually, you're right and once you start counting the losses, it makes you want to stop gambling so bad. I remember when PrimeDice was new, they used to show profit and loss stats for each profile next to their name along with some luck % numbers etc.

Now they don't show such stats by default, unless you request it. That's because they know once the user realizes their losses, there is a chance they might stop gambling and it makes sense.

When I feel I am gambling too much, I just look back at the deposits and withdrawals for a certain month and that's enough of a reality check to stop for some time.

Yes I think you are very correct on this most important when I started gambling it was really not good at all I think if I could start counting I lost about seven game that night when gambling it was really a lot harder to face the loss all the way, well you are correct about enriching the casino gambling guy honestly speaking people think they collect more from the gambling company not knowing that gambling even more of what you earn from them, and they keep telling you later you might find an opportunity to win big bucks of cash feeding you with booking codes and lot more…the truth of the matter is that there is no such think called opportunity in gambling it luck that cut with most people..
