There will probably be a fine, but I think it will be much, much bigger. I think there will also be a significant points deduction on top of the fine. I think City can survive any fine and even a large points deduction, but if they are stripped of all their titles from those seasons, I don’t think they will be able to recover from that.
It seems to me the opposite - they will easily pay any fine. Look, they spent over 600 million on transfers since winter, they couldn't care less about money. They could pay a billion-dollar fine and just carry on as usual. Stripping titles won't really change much either - after all, these are just "virtual" trophies that, once won, exist only in history and memories. A simple relegation is also nonsense (if they get into the Championship) - in a year they will return and continue their business as if nothing happened. To cure this cancer, they need to be expelled from the professional leagues, in my view, that would be a fair punishment (and a lesson to everyone else). You are right for them whatever the amount if it can put Manchester City stay in the EPL will surely be easily resolved. I also heard that the Championship side rejected the presence of Manchester City because it would damage the competitive status of other clubs who are struggling to enter the EPL. They committed violations, so the most severe penalties must be imposed immediately. The 114 charges are no longer a question of fines, but of the integrity of the Premier League in the eyes of European football. If they are lenient and impose light sanctions, the world will judge for itself how ulcerated the system is in the English League.

If I remember correctly, Chelsea received only one ban for violations related to underage player registration in 2019 - plus some relatively small fines. Correct me if I'm wrong. Of course, I mean actual bans, not suspended ones.
I agree these cases aren't identical, but both involve clubs that gained a serious advantage by breaking the rules. And in my opinion, Chelsea got off lightly. Compare that punishment to Juventus's.
Well, you're right. The actual ban is one but the suspended ones can not be overlooked either. The fact that Chelsea appealed and got the ban suspended doesn't make it less punishment. They were fined at least, so basically they got punished either way. My only problem with your earlier statement is saying Chelsea got away with it. Yes Juventus got points deduction but Chelsea have spent more than €10m as well and investigations are still ongoing. So my point is Chelsea have gotten the punishment they deserve and it not fair to say they get away with it. A €10m fine. Are you kidding? They can't even buy a serious player for €10m. In 2017 they spent €245m on 18 players; in 2018, €200m on 6 players. (I'm too lazy to check - that's just the first link I googled, so maybe I'm mistaken.) Such a punishment is a mockery of the other teams. If City get the same punishment, every other team should be allowed to do the same: pay $10m, serve a one-transfer-window ban, and buy players with no restrictions. At least five or six teams could easily pay $10m for terms like that. Chelsea was not involved in match fixing like in Juventus case, there offence was dated back to the previous owner, the good part of it was, Chelsea reported themselves, they were open for investigations, they were fined and had two transfer ban. All offences was traced to the ex owner, where secret deals with players like Eto'o, Ramirez, William, Hazard and others the estimated amount is less than £47 million for all these players, if we consider the amount, it's not up to a quarter of Manchester City's. Manchester City broke the rule, refused to be investigated, denied all allegations in the process, now they have been found guilty after several years, all these will be put into consideration while delivering a final verdict.

Chelsea's case isn't compared to Juventus or Manchester City's infact it's a minor situation unlike City that's found guilty of 114 out of 115 charges, that's a heavy offense that doesn't need light punish cause it would make the Premier League look corrupt. City's trying to appeal but i feel their appeal might be rejected and the owner forced to sell. I'll be so surprised if Manchester City is still in the Premier League next season, but if the punishment ends up being relegation to the Championship league and they end up rejecting them, it means they’ll have to play in a lower division, that'll be the worst time to be a City support, many fans would flee to other clubs or their previous clubs before Pep Guardiola became City's manager.

I think City can survive any fine and even a large points deduction, but if they are stripped of all their titles from those seasons, I don’t think they will be able to recover from that. I thought there will be huge punishments, not a fine only. I am not super sure and trying to figure out what happened in detail but it seems like this is very big. Also, this topic was started in June. I didn't know there was anything at that point even. I thought these were new happenings. If their past league titles are to be stripped, the Champions League matches they played during those seasons should not be counted either. Since they secured their Premier League positions through unfair competition, they went on to reach the semi-finals and finals on numerous occasions in the European competitions they entered thanks to those positions, having knocked out a host of teams along the way. Perhaps the team they knocked out in the quarter-finals would have gone on to win the cup. The issue of stripping them of this cup would trigger a whole lot of other problems. I do not think they will do that, I believe they will impose a penalty such as points deduction and a transfer ban.

Let see the final verdict that will be given as punishment, as Manchester City has been found guilty of one hundred and fourteen charges which were brought up against them. Because there is nothing we will say here that will have effect on Manchester City as a club . But what is certain is that they are going to be dealt with because they didn't play with the rules guiding the sport that they are partaking in. But from what am seeing in this case politics is taking place, why am sounding this way is that this case has taken so much time. Even before getting to this point judgement should be passed and it should be a very tough one as it will sound as lesson to other teams.

Hopefully they get relegated down multiple divisions and get a transfer ban. The punishment must be severe.
Lolz. That's very harsh but with the way they are delaying it, there is high possibility that they will soften the punishment and I don't think that they will send City on relegation but if that happens, it means that City is finished and it will be a big lesson to the rest EPL clubs. Let's see how it goes and the kind of punishment that will be given to them. Suppose Manchester City is severely punished by going down to the championship or lower division then this club can be dissolved, then the other players will leave except for loyal players, it could be just amateur players. haha According to the news the verdict will be finalized after the World Cup, do not know the exact truth, which is clear that this old indictment problem has indeed dragged on maybe until I forgot myself with this case for Manchester City. If the verdict is given I'm not sure that stars like Halaand will follow Manchester City to championship, it's very rare for players like that to toll that lane out of loyalty for their clubs so I don't see any possibility for that to happen, the verdict has taken too long to be pronounced because I know Manchester City has influencial back up that's why, it didn't take the FA years to pass their verdict on Everton Fc which led to their 6points deduction in the premier League. The fraudulent activities of Manchester City all this years is beyond just deduction of points but to be relegated to championship, Tracing back to history Manchester United is another team that was winning games after bribing referees which was the strategies that Sir Alex Fugerson used during his days in Manchester United, football is another section that you find high level of corruption so Manchester City needs to face the consequences of their fraudulent activities.

I don’t even think it’s going to be proper to fine Manchester city alone, if Manchester city are fined alone, then something is wrong, because everyone expects a tougher punishment, if they are going to be fined alone, then we should expect similar things from other clubs later in the future since they know they are just going to be fined alone and nothing more. I don’t really know the kind of punishment which is really going to affect them, they should give them punishment which they not going to forget about, and it’s going to discourage other clubs from repeating the same thing.

I think that in addition to whatever punishment they will get, some EPL clubs will likely sue Manchester City too because all the rules they broke over the years gave them unfair advantage over everyone else and that's how they could win all those trophies. But I don't think the trophies won willbe stripped. They'll probably pay a hefty fine, get points reduction and some new FFP bans.

As we all know, this case has dragged on absurdly long. But now, in my opinion, the corrupt bastards have an excellent chance to finish the case under the cover of the World Cup – while everyone is busy with the main event of the fourth year, the public will have no time or emotions to be distracted by an unfair decision. My prediction is that City will receive a soft punishment (something like a 10-point deduction and possibly a year-long transfer ban) in the midst of the World Cup, probably during the quarter-finals. What do you think?
I picked 3 because that's most likely what will happen in the end, I doubt they'll get relegated, and regardless of the fact that they are found guilty of these 115 count charges, they'll find a way around to not relegate city to lower division, because they're all out their for business and they know how much it's going to affect everyone should City move to lower division because they're a giant club, and it will shake a lot of business and investors in football sports with such ruling.

I think you guys are missing a very important point about City being (eventually) relegated: the majority of the players would leave the club. Does any of you really think that Haaland, Ruben Dias, Donnarumma, Fernandez, etc etc would play 1) One season in the Championship 2) One season in the Premier League with no European football? So basically they would throw away 2 years of their career? No way. If a club gets relegated the players abandon the ship. I support Juventus, I remember very well what happened after the 2006 relegation, the only big names that remained were Del Piero, Buffon and Trezeguet, because they all deeply loved the team. Everybody else left: Cannavaro, Zambrotta, Thuram, Vieira, Emerson, Ibrahimovic, Mutu, all of them. The same would happen with City.

There has been a lot of speculation in the media about the legal implications of the charges in regard to players contracts. If truly the punishment is enough to make the contract void then we should expect a mass exodus. It only takes one player to do it first, others will follow. Haaland might leave Manchester City for Real Madrid. Enzo Feenandez and many other signings have no real ties to the club, I don’t see them staying to play in the championship.

They have been found guilty but they have appealed which they could still lose but we are not hoping for that. The judgement would hit hard on them which I guess was the reason they file an appeal otherwise they could have face it and by now it would have been over. My prayers is for them to win the appeal and learn their lessons not to break the rules again. There is no politics as to what is happening to Manchester city, even if they try to influence the case politically,it might cause a serious mayhem in the premier because some clubs or fans might challenge the judgement if they sight irregularities and partiality in the judgment.

You better stop wasting your prayers on cheaters because God will not answer such prayers. Bro, they might be innocent on some of the charges label against them, but I am certain that they can't be innocent in 115 charges, besides we are talking about the ones that came to public, what about the secret one's no one except them knew about? That's enough reason for them to be punished, so that others will learn from it, because if they are left off the hook, they are setting a dangerous precedent that may compel others to do the same thing believing that nothing will happen, so my take on this is that, if they are truly guilty, then at least they should be thought a lesson, so that something like that will never repeat itself again.

Yeah, it does look strange, but just recently I saw somewhere on X that Real Madrid would like to have Haaland. I thought even then that it was unrealistic because he has such a long-term contract with City. But now it looks like everything could be turned upside down. But let’s not jump to conclusions. City have filed an appeal, who knows, maybe they’ll manage to sort something out.

Many media reports suggest that Manchester City might get relegated and play in the championship and i don’t think it will happen, Manchester City will not get relegated or being stripped of the titles they have won, the only thing that premier league can do is to fine them and the league will continue, i am not a Manchester City fan, and i will be happy if the club relegated because of what they have done in the last few years, but if we look at the big clubs in the league, Manchester City is one of the big clubs the league benefits from. Another reason why i think Manchester City will not be punished that will make the players to leave is because the club owners have money and they have now started threatening the league and Uk governor that they will stop everything that they partnered together, that is to prove that Manchester City know that they are guilty but they believe they have power to do what they want. Many players will leave if Manchester City relegated but i don’t think it will happen.

The rumors may be true because atp City do not have much to offer, also Haaland has a great relationship with Bellingham. My only concern is if Madrid will be willingly to sell Vinicius Jr for Haaland. Even if the deal doesn’t work out, Barcelona is another La Liga giant that wants to sign him.

Haaland might leave Manchester City for Real Madrid. Enzo Feenandez and many other signings have no real ties to the club, I don’t see them staying to play in the championship.
There is strong support for Manchester City’s expulsion from all competitions in England due to the issues they’re facing. I’m also sure there are those who hope Manchester City won’t get caught up in the scandal to the point of being relegated. Because of this situation, other teams have the opportunity to sign Manchester City’s key players—not out of loyalty, but because it’s only natural for them to look for other teams. A prime example is Haaland. Haaland is a great player and a lethal striker. It’s impossible for Haaland not to leave once everything is clear, for the sake of his career. If Real Madrid is eager to sign him, I think it will happen.

It depends on the contract and on how closely the players are "tied" (in a bad sense) to City. If City are relegated to the Championship and the player's contract contains no clauses regarding this scenario, he cannot simply leave. If City is relegated from professional football, then I think the contract will be terminated automatically (maybe something will have to be sorted out through the courts or lawyers). But! If City gets relegated and completely "sinks" - and, say, Haaland wants to leave, City could drag him down with them by revealing data (which presumably exists) regarding unofficial payments. In that scenario, everyone would have to find a way to reach an agreement.

I am patiently waiting for what would be, with people's opinion in the forum and on the internet, I am pressured to believe that Manchester City should face drastic disciplinary action, though what are the chances that the board will agree on demoting Manchester City back to the Championship? IMO, the height of Manchester City's punishment is on compensation, they wouldn't be relegated.

What Manchester City can never get the same punishment as Chelsea. The level of their offense is not even the same. Yes, I agree Chelsea were not caught but they reported themselve because they knew the consequences if they allowed the authority to find out and that's why they got a lighter punishment. Manchester city offence is just like a day light robbery to take advantage against other teams. Chelsea admit their offense but Manchester City is still denying their heavy and deliberate misconduct. If they get the same punishment as Chelsea, then they should never bother punishing them because that would be the joke for the century. The appropriate punishment should be an expulsion from the Premier League because no amount of points deduction would be enough. I agree that there must be more than just fines and a transfer ban. But I'm not sure we'll see anything more. ~ Well, let agree to disagree on whether Chelsea were punished or not. In my own view, they were punished for what was proven at that time. The €10m fine is too small for you to consider it as a punishment. I agree with you thou because that amount can't buy any useful player. That's all fine to me but I don't want us to compare the 3 cases as if the offence were all equal. We are on the same page concerning city punishment. Personally, I would be disappointed if they end up getting the same punishment with Chelsea unless the commission wants to clearly show that they are bias. I don't expect the same punishment at all. If they get the same punishment then football is finally corrupt. Done deal. Stripping of titles, fines, and financial compensation for the teams that lost money because of the cheating. Relegation would be nice, but as far as I know, there are problems with the Championship: it is a different league, not part of the EPL. It must be shown to all other teams in two ways: that justice has been done for the wronged teams, and that no one should even think about doing it again.
