OK, that's your opinion and you're entitled to it. However, football is developing and changing all the time. Former football powers like Hungary, Austria or the Czech Republic are no longer on the football map, but some new football powers have emerged like Croatia, Belgium, Norway, etc. Yes, Ronaldo and Messi marked an era in football, but football will not cease to exist after them and I'm sure we will see such football greats and rivalries after them. Pele, for example, led Brazil to 3 world championship titles in a very long period between 1958 and 1970. After him, we also had great football stars who contributed to the popularity of football. However, nowadays, as Spain showed at the last World Cup, it is no longer so important to have football stars in the team, but to have a team with a perfect system and organization of the game, because a team is always more than the sum of its individual players. France with Mbappe, Portugal with Ronaldo or Argentina with Messi couldn't win the world championship title, but Spain did, even though their main player Yamal wasn't fully fit after an injury.
Youre very correct that football is a developing sport and with time it changes its standards and demands, and whoever is able to progress with that then they have success in football. Messi and ronaldo will ome day become irrelevant and better players may emerge but it will be really hard to do so, for example Messi is the highest assister while also being the second highest scorer so repeating this imo is very hard, but even if it happens he will always be remembered in history.

Yamal is not just a good player, he is an impresive player, in my opinion in the next few years we will see a new dualism between two very champions like Ronaldo Messi was, but between Yamal and another footballer, i most likely think it will be mbappe if it breaks the deadlock, but we will definitely see Yamal among the two contenders.
A rivalry like that between Ronaldo and Messi isn't something you see very often in football. I don't think we'll see a rivalry like that happening again in the years to come. I'm not saying that Yamal is a bad player; he's actually impressive. But comparing his potential rivalry with other young players to that of Ronaldo and Messi is a bit premature. Their rivalry was something else entirely - it was the kind of rivalry you very rarely witness. That's why we're so fortunate to be the generation that witnessed the rivalry between those two players. How about Yamal and Kylian huh? because I think that I am already sensing a rivalry there. And this is just the beginning because I think that this rivalry will become more noticeable after Messi and Ronaldo final retirement. Yamal and Kylian has the same M.O as GOAT Messi and Ronaldo. They are both playing inside Laliga like Messi And Ronaldo did in their prime, and Kylian who is the Real Madrid guy is older than Yamal just like Ronaldo was older than Messi in Laliga. Just like Messi too, yamal is still young and is a growing superstar that is more promising to win trophies like Messi do. Everything is just so similar and alike, or am I just making all this up?

in fact i don't think we'll see it for a very long time, these players are phenomenal and made of a different stuff than the others, they gave life to an incredible dualism, they had the ability to keep their name high for years by winning everything they could win, truly amazing, i don't think we'll be able to see something like this again. Messi and Ronaldo are not made of different metals, they are human beings made of flesh and blood like humans, but because of their hard work, they have become so successful today. If they had not worked so hard on themselves, then maybe they would not have been so popular and successful. However, it is true that we will not see players like Messi and Ronaldo and their performances like them again, but it must also be accepted that better players will continue to emerge over time.

It's a golden era that'll soon end in our very presence. Some times when people make divergent criticisms about these two legends, I try to stand fairly neutral even though it is difficult not to take sides. These two guys held the game for over nearly 2 decades sharing every stage during award nights. It will be almost impossible to have a duo that will dominate this game for years as long as they did. For sure good players will always come up but raising players that will have such level of consistency for decades is the difficult part. I see players as Lamine Yamal and Erling Haaland as the possible next stars that will be able to match that level of consistency and impact. The coming world cup is going to be interesting because we will be watching new talents, Yamal and Erling Haaland is going to steal the highlights and even Kylian Mbappe may no longer be as active as he is now.

I even think that maybe for the next 50 years there won’t be a rivalry like Messi and Ronaldo. Because this is a truly phenomenal rivalry that’s hard for other players to surpass, even players like Hazard when he was at Chelsea and Neymar when he was at Barcelona had their names fade and many said they came at the wrong time. The Ronaldo and Messi rivalry wasn’t just one or two years but over a decade.
Right now, Yamal is often hyped as the next Messi, but I think that will be tough. Tough in terms of maintaining consistency every season. And Mbappe competing with Ronaldo and Messi isn’t even at the club level but in the national team. Even now, the top scorer in the World Cup is Mbappe and surely in the next World Cup he’ll score again especially since France is now coached by Zidane.
I agree with you on that. Messi and Cristiano have already made history in world football; it's something that goes beyond what Maradona and Pelé achieved in their time. What makes it even more exciting is that both players are contemporaries. Lamine is a very good player; he's made plays that are very difficult to execute, and he makes them look easy. That's magic, too. Competition for Lamine? Mbappé, Endrick... we don't know if Cristiano and Messi's sons will be like their fathers, but there's a seed there. I have my uncertainty if there will ever be any like this two players in football, maybe but not at the level that both players dominated the game, it will take a very gifted and extraordinary players to replicate what Ronaldo and Messi did, There are several sides to this, there are goal records, trophies won, assist given, individuals awards, And this makes me asking how the upcoming generation could erase all of these record, it is very difficult and somewhat impossible to think.

I would like to add another name to these two names Messi and Ronaldo, which is Neymar. This boy came to the Brazil team with great talent and did a lot for the Brazil team in his short career and performed best for the club he played for, but injuries have always held him back from achieving anything good. If Messi or Ronaldo were not there during Neymar's time, then the spotlight would have been on Neymar alone and multiple Ballon d'Ors would have been next to his name. Similarly, if Messi and Ronaldo had been in football at different times, then these two players would have been the best players individually. I do not think only Messi and Ronaldo are the best players, I also think Neymar has always been the best player. Messi has already retired, Neymar will retire soon and Ronaldo will be left and he may also retire soon. That is, it is difficult to accept the departure of three football stars at the same time as a football lover.

Although Ronaldo has not made any such announcement, but with the portugal team is going through a bit of a bad relationship with him, which we have come to know from some news a few days ago. Maybe in a few years, both of them will go into complete retirement. From then on, they will not be seen performing anymore. No one will criticize them. There will be no more debate about who was the best in the world. An entire generation will lose a lot of interest in football, when Messi and Ronaldo go into retirement.

You are on point and such point is what I try to make most of the time. I want people to understand regardless of the time and era, the records the likes of Messi and Ronaldo have kept are what I think will take time for another person to do. Ronaldo for instance is targeting his 1000 goals through out his career and achieved the highest goal scorer in the history of football. 1000 goals is not a beans and it is something which will take a long while before another person can break it. After Ronaldo, the next player with such record is is Messi and after him, Pele got 762 and he was meant to be the greatest of all time for a long time before the arrival of Messi and Ronaldo. There are some records which take a long time before someone else is able to break it and such is exactly what I’m talking about.

These two players are still playing actively as they get older but Cristiano Ronaldo has been a bit off form recently but he is trying to touch the milestone of 1000 goals but Messi on the other hand has kept his performance stable as before, in fact you may also know that Messi has already retired from the Argentina national team but this player was the second highest goal scorer in the recently concluded FIFA World Cup. Ronaldo hasn't retired but his relationship with the Portugal team is going a bit sour as we can see he has already been fined £215 for leaving the team's camp in the UEFA Nations League. So it is clear that when these players retire, many will lose interest in football because they have been able to perform brilliantly every season.

You are right, football, as well as every other thing is developing and evolving and we will definitely see even better players than we have ever had but honestly, it's very hard to imagine a football player as good, as humble, as amazing, as phenomenal and as consistent as Messi and Ronaldo were. My favorite one is Messi. It's so hard for me to imagine another player at his level playing football for so many years. I feel like he will forever be number one in my heart. At the moment, there is no one at young Messi's level for me but there are some promising talents. Let's wait and see what happens in the future.

The question is not if but eventually when. Of course records are meant to be broken but some of them are going to be extremely hard. Football was invented over a century ago and yet nobody even got close to scoring 1,000 professional goals. Ronaldo will probably be the first one to make it thanks to several factors: - Incredible longevity - One of the best players in history - Health and recovery improvements/discoveries - Increase of the number of football matches and competitions compared to 30-40-50 years ago Will we have another player able to score, on average, 40 goals per season for 25 years? Time will tell...

Ronaldo recently hasn't been supported much by his people and by people in general and this is truly a shame because people really have short memories and don't remember what happened during his first Ballon d'Or, i think it was the best Ballon d'Or of all time, a truly monstrous player.

Kylian Mbappe will be 31 at the next World Cup, so he should still be able to perform at a high level. Alongside Haaland and Yamal, I’d also highlight another rising star: Michael Olise. He impressed at the last World Cup and has continued to shine at Bayern Munich. In my opinion, he could become another player on Messi’s level. Michael Olise is very talented indeed and is going to be a Star to watch too. If he continues with his present form of which he has always been in form since his days at crystal palace. Many rising stars btw but talking about our present talents, Haaland and Yamal has booked their place in the list of talents to look out for in the 2030 world cup. Kylian Mbappe may be having age constraints already just like we see in the last world cup. He performed far better in the previous ones than this year. But by that year, I think Yamal will be at his peak or better if he continues developing the way he's going.
