I don't mind donating to help Bitstar gains exposure. Should I just post my idea in public since dev hasn't replied to my pm?

Well, my apology in advance to the dev, but I think it would be best if I share it to the community. (since I didn't wait for his reply)

https://www.bitstars.net is an online casino that accepts btc as a method of payment. Since the name is similar to our coin... I think it'll help us gain more exposure and it'll bring more traffic to the site. It'll be a win win situation if we can get them to accept our coin. Again, this has to be approved by Dev.

Since we have the fiat exchange in its beta stage, this will be a great way to market the "average user" into alternate currency.

While it clearly would be a good link to connect the coin project with the casino, I don't think it's necessarily that clear cut. There are pros and cons to such an association.

Besides, the whole reasoning behind the casino being named 'Bitstars' is in relation to Bitcoin.

Maybe they'd be persuaded to offer both currencies as payout on the basis that Bitstarcoin would potentially wind up increasing the amount of BTC the player wins.

Personally, though, I prefer not to encourage gambling on non-skill games.

WARNING!!! Check your forum URLs carefully and avoid links to phishing sites like 'thebitcointalk' 'bitcointalk.to' and 'BitcointaLLk'

I agree, there will be pros and cons. I'm sure those will be discussed in private matters.

This is just a step moving forward. It was just an idea as I came across that website.

I'm sure it the site was built in relation to Bitcoin, but this can give the site exposure into the alternate currency world. (Or the average user at least)

Just an idea...

Bitstars casino, Bitstar "chips". Wink

I think we need a good PR candidate to reach out to www.bitstars.net. Is anyone up for the task?

norton keeps removing the file when i download it

That could be the false positive a lot of wallets have been getting (including bitcoin), typical anti virus unfortunately.

dev take screen shots for those that may have trouble with wallet downloads.

Just a quick one for now, will post more once we have orders live and when I get home from work.

Nice effort Dev, looking forward to testing it out.

we could set up a crowdfunding site like greenbacks is planning to : anybody can post things he wants to code for the coin and how many coins he would want for that , the coins are then collected by the dev or some other trusted person and then handed over once the project is finished , if not enough funds come together it can all be send back to the adresses it was sent from

That is on our to do list already Smiley  we already have most of the code done for it.  Just want to minify it to fit into the new wallet window.

Things that could be crowdfunded:

-Coin recycler
-Sms wallet
-Messaging with wallet
-replacing adresses with names (like wallet.pink)
-a service that automatically converts your bits to btc to allow you to buy things that accept btc with bits (like SFRbit)
-android wallet
-an (anonymous / decentralized) exchange
-trading app (like quatloo)
-betting
-cloudfunction

no they wont. its a direct user to user trade system. even if someone had not seen localbitcoins, someone could still make it like this. this is not patented.

There are already similar sites out there litecoinlocal and a dogecoin one I believe, we didn't copy there design or any of there systems, even our layout and the way ours works is different.  We also don't have a local collect option.

doesn't matter the look is the same that's why we have unique logos. if someone copied facebook homepage would they be cool with it. im as much interested in investing in this coin as much as using this feature as i use localbitcoin alot. having a alternative to buying btc is massive thing for me. before i invest i just like to make sure they won't have a problem. why doesn't someone email them a screenshot see what they have to say. there are many ways someone could design it.

im not talking about how people view the ads. the listings do look similar but thats nothing. its your start page and colours. i seriously thought it was lbc. layout is not an issue just the colour and  start page. i think you should contact them and if they cool with it let us know. if you want i can do that for you
