Coinmarketcap has only Yobit as the exchanger that sells Karma coin. So....I thought we can only buy it there?

someone just pay them the extortion fee of 0.2 ($500) and to get them to update the wallet and you are all set.

I read that Yobit was the place to buy the correct Karma coin. Is there any way Yobit will unfreeze the wallets? I really want my Karma coins back. I was excited about the future of this coin.

So maybe the Yobit wallet should get unfrozen? Yobit has a lot of volume and can only help the growth of Karma once the wallet is unfrozen. Is there a plan to pay the wallet maintenance fee or are the Yobit investors just screwed? Thanks

Somebody just payed the tax to have the right wallet. Read more carefully. I think we should also be listed on paired with LTC and doge so that we could have for the moment buying orders. People would feel more safe.

So the yobit wallet is working correctly now? I am not at home near my computer to login. Thanks

I don't know about how Yobit works, but their support page says the following:

https://yobit.net/en/maintenance_request/

To update a coin (SourceCode Update/Hardfork/Swap) with High Priority you can fill out the form below.
Payment method: YobiCode
Maintenance type:
• Free (8-14 business days) - 0 btc
• Premium (5-7 business days) - 0.2 btc
• Exclusive (2-4 business days) - 0.5 btc

I will send them a PM asking if Karma deposits and withdrawls are ok. But if someone has an account on there, please test it

It is bitwho who holds the keys to Karma's future Smiley

We don't know if there is a new start to Karma yet.

For the new thread, if such is done, then the OP would need to be updated (which I no longer have access to perform)

I Bought about $50 worth of Karma, then I changed my mind, and now I'm stuck with 2,000,000+ karma because you can't withdraw or even sell karma on YoBit... did I buy a dead coin? Embarrassed

I just checked my Karma wallet and it says it's in maintenance. Do you think we can fix this? I invested a lot of money into Karma and had no idea the wallets were in maintenance.

Hi,

I also have Karmacoins in Yobit. They are still in maintenance. Let's wait untill tomorrow and I hope it will be fixed.

Kosmost, I personally support you as a leader on the Karma revival project.

I suggest we make voting and proceed with the next steps.

Also about Yobit:

Maintenance type:
• Free (8-14 business days) - 0 btc
• Premium (5-7 business days) - 0.2 btc
• Exclusive (2-4 business days) - 0.5 btc

Anyway it will take few days to make the maintenance.

I am Japanese.
In Japan, more people invest in virtual currency.
However, there is no one who knows about karma coins.
I think that it would be better to become a pioneer of karmic coin in Japan.

By the way, you still have MintPal's Karma wallet in your possession, right? How many coins does it have in it? 7 billion or something? What's the address?

Do you have a plan for that?

yes i have it. the plan was to return %92 of them to each user in there. emails were sent. many times. over a period of a year or more most was claimed. the rest was suppose be decided if either distribute the rest back to the users for %100 back & burn the coins, or burn the coins and leave it at %92.

Since the momentum has died out and i rarely get any emails or users care to come here. i will most likely burn them

Good to know, and thank you for looking after them.

What's the address? Or one of the addresses?

We could probably use them for development, since they are a valuable resource. Then Karma could benefit as a whole.

What does everyone else think? At 1 satoshi the 6.6 billion coins are worth $181,00 in BTC right now. At 5 satoshis, $955,000. Of course, we wouldn't sell many of them, or all at the same time, but this just puts it into perspective.

Karma could do amazing things with it.

@bitwho
I was looking for some kind of transparency report for the coins but couldn't find it. Can you paste it here?

Like...

Recovered Mintpal Coins

Initial number of coins: xxxxxxx
Karma Address: xxxxxxx
Number of users who claimed: xx
Number of claimed coins: xxxxxxx
Current value: xxxxxxxx

or something like that...

That way, the Karma community will know the state of the Karma coins.

Any ideas on the above, Bitwho?

Welcome to the community.

I actually used to live in Japan and noticed there are many different kinds of payment methods. (Although finding an ATM can be quite difficult, which is strange because so many people use cash only.) I am glad that cryptocurrency is finally taking off in Japan.

May I ask, how did you hear about Karma?

Also, what is 'karma' in Japanese and how does it translate?

thanks!

its a big venue to succeed if we can also introduce karma coin to japan community as we knew that bitcoin went high after japan's entry
into the scene after they announce that they will use the system a lots of things really happen so its better to have someone who already
lives there and help the community to make karma to be known.

I don't have much faith in Yobit. I read about too many issues, which reminded me of the clouds circling Mt. Gox, Cryptsy, and a couple of other exchanges before they fell. Not to say that Yobit will fall, but I don't see the logic of their management style.

What we need to do, perhaps, is focus our efforts to get on Poloniex. This will re-introduce Karma to more people and also rebuild confidence in Karma and its future.

Needs:

1) Announcement page: this one, if Bitwho provides access. If not, then a new one will be created. Check!
2) Working wallet: needs some changes, but it's good enough for now. Check!
3) Block explorer: more can be added in future. Check!
4) Unique value proposition: Karma is "The Blockchain of Kindness". Karma allows people to give thanks to others in a meaningful way.

Also, I think we should change our ticker symbol from "KARM" to "KARMA". It is an obvious change. (In 2014, ticker symbols were mostly limited to 4 characters or less.)

I've created a Discord channel to talk about these things. Please join me: https://discord.gg/reQQ5VS

(Discord is like Slack, but I think it's more intuitive and easier to follow conversations. Even though it's meant for gamers, it would be a good way to communicate.)
