Fellow Bluecoiners... It's been almost 2 months and YoBit still has not bothered to update their wallet. We have dozens of community members with tens of millions of coins locked up there. Please demand that they reactivate their BLU wallet so our supporters can transact freely. I started off with one post here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=914975.msg25628839#msg25628839 .... The more of us that go on there and demand they fix it, the faster it will happen... All the best, BlueCoiner

Can anyone who has been around much longer than me help to explain the history of this project? it looks like it went dead for 3 years and was recently revived maybe? In the few revival posts that are out there, there doesn't seem to be any attempt to explain why the project went dead or why it's coming back.
I don't want to write it off without learning more, but there seems to be next to no community, the website is full of typos and more importantly doesn't explain why BlueCoin is unique.
My more skeptical side says it's being revived simply because there is a chance for the developers (and former BlueCoin believers) to make some Bitcoin since the entire crypto space is booming. Maybe the code was sitting there and they figured it was worth a shot? Or maybe BlueCoin brings something new to the crypto space and has a reason to exist, unlike so many other coins/tokens out there today?
More info would be much appreciated. Thanks!
Anyone?

How is this update supposed to work? I had some coins in the previous 1.X version, and after updating to 2.X, there is no more balance with that wallet. The address with a balance in 1.X is not shown in the current block explorer. What to do?

All (unspent) balances on 1.0 will have migrated to 2.0 on September 10th, 2017. If you are trying to recover spent coins the balance will reflect as 0 in the new protocol.
Cheers, BlueCoiner

There is no ICO. This is actual cryptocurrency, which went live in april 2014.

BlueCoin 2.0 Update 1. The port to the new source code has been completed as of 8/25/2017.
2. A snapshot of all the balances will be taken on Wednesday, August 30th 2017 @ 8:00 PM PDT.
3. Exchanges will be advised to freeze their wallets at this time to prevent loss of coins. We ask all BlueCoiners to halt sending coins during this period to prevent losses.
4. Coins that are moved after the snapshot period (8/30/2017) will not be honored in Bluecoin's 2.0 network.
5. BlueCoin 2.0 will be going live the following Tuesday - September 5th, 2017 at 8:00 PM PDT.
6. Accounts with less than 1 BlueCoin will be destroyed on BlueCoin 2.0. This is to eliminate bloat & spam on the new network.
7. Existing wallet.dat's will work on the new network.
8. Because we are switching to PoW we ask for everyone to have their miners online and ready on September 5th to ensure we have a smooth launch.
We'd like to thank everyone for their patience and support during this time, and are excited to deliver on the first part of our vision as detailed in the BluePrint!
http://bluecoin.io/BlueCoin%202.0%20-%20The%20BluePrint.pdf Hi, What is the latest version of the wallet. I downloaded 2.1.1 from the site. Is that the latest? Also can you mine this coin still?

Yes, you can mine it, but I am not an expert for mining, so you can ask about it on telegram chat https://t.me/joinchat/CB8D9A8jicz78p02QWTI6w

BlueCoin’s supply inflates at a stable 3% per year. Rewarding the coin holders who verify the network, while at the same time energizing the economy! How often is the amount charged?

Currently, all 3% are delegated to miners. Later on, when cold staking comes online, it will be 2% to POW and 1% to POS. We will see on the next update how often will POS rewards be paid. Devs are currently working on utilizing bluetooth mesh networking.
