Interesting... let all know how it works.... when arrives and set it up....

That looks good. I need to find one like that in the US..

diamond wallet won't compile on aarch64 yet, need a new scrypt-aarch64.S written which is not in source, scrypt-arm.S fails to build on 64 bit Sad everything else in source I have gotten to compile but it fails at link time, this is because scrypt_core() never gets built.
As feldenthorne suggested a fallback code written in C++ could be a temporary solution for scrypt_core() for any architecture that is not supported yet, although it would surely be slower than assembly code for inner loops.
It's up to the devs ... simply list it before the scrypt-*.S files in diamond.pro, it would get compiled first and then if an architecture that matches get's compiled it would replace the C++ version before linking.
There are three other files that need to be fixed for aarch64, which I have already done locally (diamond.pro, src/makefile.unix and src/scrypt_mine.cpp)

lets see
if i get below 100$ a windows based 2 GB ram solution that can use precompiled wallets with a well known gui (windows)

i think thats a more mainstream solution

dont forget all that prices u state is a mainboard with nothing no case no power no touchscreen

a windows 10 tablet have that all

and worst case if u no longer care for crypto ur kids are happy have another tablet to watch youtube and other stuff

I contacted pooler again:
Quote
I contacted u a few days ago by email about scrypt_core() for aarch64, I don't know how to code a .S file but I came up with a temporary solution:
A fallback written in C++ for unsupported architectures.
simply place the fallback before the others in build order and it would compile, and be replace by optimized version if the architecture is supported Smiley
This file is critical to my build of Diamond wallet.
Your scrypt-arm.S file will not build on aarch64.
This is ONLY thing stopping build Sad
Like I said if I had C++ source I could get it to run (likely slower).
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=55038.msg14328486#msg14328486

@cryptonit
Don't forget the PINE64 is only $15 when it is released and only needs a microSD card, power supply and hdmi monitor and keyboard/mouse, better yet a connection via remote desktop. case is optional.

I just bought a microSDHC  card today 32G for $14.88. power supply ~6.00, kdb/mouse/hdmi already had

So $15.00 + $15.00 + $6.00 = $36 approx total, try to find a win 10 tablet that cheap Smiley

I'll bet the windows build of wallet will not run on aarch64 running Win 10 IoT ...

Quote
Anyway. There is a lot of speculation but little hard info. But Windows 10 Mobile is indeed being ported to ARM64 (no surprise there) and x86. And I’m curious to see how that works out in real products.
source: https://www.thurrott.com/windows/windows-10/63961/63961

If I understand the whole concept of ROKOS, it can run headless and we are looking for a cheap staking device ...
The future is aarch64 and we need to support it Smiley

I have officially reached ROI with my DMD cloudmining and now I am in a nice earning mode. Willing to share my info with anyone interested. I ve been reading a lot of threads about how it is not possible to reach ROI and make profits with cloud mining. Well, when it comes to DMD Diamond, IMPOSSIBLE IS NOTHING.

@devs
From pooler:
Quote
As I've told you in my email, I still haven't been able to test cpuminer on aarch64, but time allowing I plan to look into this soon.
If you're OK with an unoptimized build, I think as a temporary solution configuring with --disable-assembly should be enough.
Looking thru pooler cpuminer source http://sourceforge.net/projects/cpuminer/files/pooler-cpuminer-2.4.4.tar.gz
Noticed PPC is supported also (scrypt-ppc.S) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PowerPC https://www.debian.org/ports/powerpc/

This could be easily added to DMD source Smiley
Untested as yet, I don't have a PPC to try it on.

Another subject: Compiling cpuminer (minerd) for aarch64 without architecture optimizations worked:
./configure --disable-assembly
make

executable was created Smiley apparently there is C source in his archive somewhere for scrypt_core() Huh

back to DMD:
how to --disable-assembly with qmake since no ./configure is provided with DMD src?

is this just dead code??? not needed anymore?

we where at the begin of our coin scrypt
to be able sync from zero a wallet need to be able read/verify that old scrypt hashed blocks too

we have a internal discussion in DMD Diamond Foundation core slack channel about slim and slow down DMD Blockchain

which would basical be a start at block 0 but each User keep his balance
together with a optional slowdown (we are now one of fastest coins with 52 sec average blocktime but do we need that speed?)
we could create a ultra slim wallet and chain size that would fit easy on every device and sync very fast

additional nice sideeffect we could remove all historic relevant code parts from wallet and leave only really actual needed one in it
this would slim and streamline wallet code too

OK so still needed but obsolete ... only needed for syncing a wallet from 0 ... or importing a private key
so still need assembly code .S files Sad
and who knows when a scrypt-aarch64.S will be written Sad

Quote
which would basically be a start at block 0 but each User keep his balance
so a total balance would be taken for each address detected in the blockchain up to the point of switchover from scrypt to groestl?
This would be acceptable to me Smiley basically a genesis block with these totals? and get rid of scrypt code entirely?

Just distribute new genesis block with new wallet source code.
Make it a MANDATORY update Smiley

If I ever get 2.0.5.7 wallet to run on aarch64 I can generate a diamond_wallet.deb:ARM64 archive executable ...

he is at 138% ROI now (thx mate for allow show ur stats)

and here the stats of whole DMD CLoudmining 122% ROI
(yes we paid out more value than people invested so very clear sign this is legit stuff)

i think the interesting part for use such low cost stuff as staking device is
u dont care if its plastic and maybe not robust if carry around
u dont care if battery is weak
u dont care is display is bad

all u need is it to be 24/7 connected on power cable running ur staking wallet at low power useage

i will run mine on some place not even visible to people just talking with router via wlan
this way physical access to the device is hard for a intruder too

Actually, its not my Odrobian. Its @XeoSal's. He is the one putting all the hard work into it. Wink

Who ever maintains the code should be able to get you a work around. After looking at the code, the Makefile keys on "__arm__" so it will always use the 32bit code no matter what. A 64bit kernel on a 32bit OS should make no difference because its asking the compiler, not the OS.
https://github.com/DMDcoin/Diamond/blob/master/src/scrypt-arm.S#L10

There appears to be a generic version of the code written in C++.
https://github.com/DMDcoin/Diamond/blob/master/src/scrypt.cpp

By omitting the arm version and using the generic version, you may have better luck getting it to work in a 64bit armv8 environment:
https://github.com/DMDcoin/Diamond/blob/master/src/makefile.unix#L149
(change "obj/scrypt-arm.o" to "obj/scrypt.o")

All of the following should be replaced with the single line "xCXXFLAGS+= -DNOSSE" to disable Intel x86 code paths.
https://github.com/DMDcoin/Diamond/blob/master/src/makefile.unix#L100-L108

This is just a suggestion. You will need to contact the maintainer or post to their forums if you encounter issues.
Excellent analysis by crashoveride Smiley

I already knew about makefile.unix and have some fixes in my source tree Smiley and some lines added in diamond.pro Smiley
will look at makefile.unix again, can probably leave obj/scrypt-arm.o and just add one line obj/scrypt.o
Damn its already there at line 138 Sad.
scrypt.cpp does NOT provide scrypt-core() which is my whole problem, scrypt_core() not getting built because scrypt-aarch64.S does not exist.  So no solution yet.
I'd settle for scrypt-aarch64.cpp for now just to get wallet running Smiley
http://forum.odroid.com/viewtopic.php?f=138&t=20203

Anyone got an armv7 (Pi2) that can compile the wallet and send me a copy of scrypt-arm.o  Grin
I want to try putting the .o from a 32 bit machine in with the 64 bit .o files and try to get it to link.
My email is on left pane.  All I need is one file and it should surely fit as attachment to email.
Or send me a complete compiled arm7 32 bit source tree and I can work with that Smiley

Theoretically 32 bit can run on 64 bit machine ...

I don't want to wait LOL, If this works, at least I can have my staking system running:)  This code is only used during sync right?  I don't mind if syncing is slightly slower than if it was pure 64 bit.  A hybrid wallet will satisfy me for now Smiley
The wallet compiles 64 bit now except for 1 file ...

If this works I can provide a Diamond-qt binary (or source modified to compile along with the critical .o file) for other aarch64 users Smiley

ROKOS will probably be months away for 64 bit ... He's going to be starting with a clean Odrobian 64 bit system (Debian for Odroid C2).

AWESOME OKtoshi just sent me scrypt.o file Smiley

Trying it now ...

bummer did not work

build/scrypt-arm.o: error adding symbols: File in wrong format
collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status
Makefile:305: recipe for target 'diamond-qt' failed

Looks like I'll just have to wait for scrypt-aarch64.S to be written or the need for it eliminated in the new wallet if the diamond devs go ahead with plan to remove scrypt algo completely from the blockchain.
