its surprising that still only ~ 2 BTC value DMD is buyable below 0.00060

if the price pre DMD v3 release will create a buy in opportunity below 0.00050 i cant predict
chances exist both sides that the DMD price raise even more  pre release or that price pre release maybe allow a cheaper buy in opportunity

Someone sold a lot today/yesterday... price very-well could go down a bit (especially as BTC rises). Equally easily however the price could go up... as you've said, few are wanting to let go of their DMD it seems. That's why I bought them on Bittrex while I could. If the price goes down, yay I'll be able to buy more. If it goes up, at least I'm not left out. My goal is to have enough for a masternode.... between my recent Bittrex purchases, mining, and minting, I'm getting there.

Is there a solid or semi-solid date that the transition to v3 will occur on? Some time this coming summer, is all I have been able to pick up so far.

same behavior in dmd v2 and dmd v3
automated split/merge work more efficient if coins are in one address
but beside that each transaction compete for itself
so the more transactions u have size 300-500 the better
and split merge mechanics will try get ur coins into that size by itself
it will even eat up MN reward dust and combine them into proper size if the wallet is configured that rewards are send to the POS address
(at DMD v2 its smaller there coin pile size is between 10-180 DMD and split merge mechanics more focused on coin age then coin size)
