I'm curious how a currency like XMR is allowed to trade on Polo. How can they comply with KYC and AML given the fundamentals of XMR?
and which fundamentals would be that? anonimity? lol you mean the "same" anonymity" who made bitcoin what it is now? and by the same i mean the concept behind at the begin, doesn't matter if bitcoin isn't anonymous. i've already said that i think most governments will fight against monero, simple because they already fight bitcoin, imagine what they will do against monero....

Western union accepts cash. Ba Dum Tss! We live in a crazy world where financial privacy is considered a crime. Monero is a tiny voice against this truly absurd mantra. The ultimate heresy against the religion of statism is Sovereign Individuality, which is empowered by the financial sovereignty Monero enables. If we don't get them first, the statists will burn us all at the stake. For The Greater Good ®, of course....

Do I need my wallet seed phrase to recover my wallet? - cant I just sync with the blockchain on a new PC , enter wallet name and password? In the future - can we generate a seed in our native language ? - i.e. chineese or hindi?
Lets say I make a wallet on a USB drive ...that USB gets destroyed in a house fire...
Can I download another wallet...type in wallet name and pass? - or do I need this long phrase?
What is the .keys file for that came with the simplewallet and all of that stuff?
I have got a wallet up and running by usining bitmonerod to sync then running simplewallet...im wondering what all the other files in this folder are for?
- when I start_mining 3 - do funds auto send to my wallet or do I need to set up where the miner pays me? - with intel core i7 processor and nvidia gtx1080 what setting shall I use when start_mining? 1,2,3,4? - or higher?

Can anyone give me a step by step guide about the light wallet? I clicked "create" but nothing happens. Do I need to do something else before I can create a wallet using the light client? Please help me.

Do I need my wallet seed phrase to recover my wallet? - cant I just sync with the blockchain on a new PC , enter wallet name and password? The wallet name is just a file name and the password is used to encrypt the file. Neither is sufficient to recover a wallet. You need the seed words or private keys (view key and spend private key in hex) to recover a wallet. In the future - can we generate a seed in our native language ? - i.e. chineese or hindi?
Chinese is already supported I believe and other languages can be added by submitting a pull request to github (or sponsoring someone to do so). EDIT: I just looked in github and apparently Chinese is not supported. I remembered there being a discussion about it a while back so I thought it had been added by now, but apparently that hasn't happened yet. What is the .keys file for that came with the simplewallet and all of that stuff?
The keys file contains the private keys and also can give you the seed words (if the wallet is deterministic). A backup of the .keys file is sufficient to recover the coins in the wallet. I have got a wallet up and running by usining bitmonerod to sync then running simplewallet...im wondering what all the other files in this folder are for?
The other files hold a cache of some parts of the blockchain used by the wallet along with your transaction history. You won't lose your coins if you lose those files but it is good to keep them for the history part. - when I start_mining 3 - do funds auto send to my wallet or do I need to set up where the miner pays me? - with intel core i7 processor and nvidia gtx1080 what setting shall I use when start_mining? 1,2,3,4? - or higher?
start_mining will send the funds to you wallet if and when you find a block. With only 3 threads it will take quite a while most likely (this is solo mining). Also the built in wallet/daemon miner only supports CPU. To mine on the GPU you will need to use a GPU miner (see the "getting started" page on most pools). Personally I have always liked the idea of pool mining with the GPU and solo mining with the CPU. The former gets you regular consistent payouts and the latter helps support the decentralization of the network and will occasionally (or more often if you are lucky) pay you a bunch more coins.

Well did they win in the case of bitcoin? Yes and no. They haven't outright killed it, but that seems to be the case only because of the potential backlash. State officials are very good at what they do, and it seems that with Bitcoin the plan is to throw a log in the wheel every now and then so that the end-user will never be your Average Joe. They don't need to ban/attack/do chain analysis/etc. if they just keep Bitcoin so hard to use that the mainstream will never adopt it. And right now it is too hard to use for the average computer user, and even some of the more advanced users I've met I had to be very patient with. It would also seem like a good idea to let this community live, so that users like yourself can think that Bitcoin is 'winning' against the state. It's not, at most it is a thorn in their side. There's also the problem with the Bitcoin community itself, that spouts shit equal to 'Bitcoin shouldn't be easy to use'. They don't say that outright, but they love to talk about the complexity of Bitcoin, they love to spout nonsense such as 'Bitcoin wasn't made for buying coffee' and to accuse people for doing 'spam attacks' when they make small on-chain transactions. If you saw the Bitcoin-fiat dichotomy like a war, the people backing fiat would be making the most gains with the least resources... Or in other words, winning.

Official sold LISK for XMR. Hello Team!
will only 5000 XMR be ok for me? - or will i be a poor man in my future? what is a "good amount" of this coin to hold?
I will be still learning from all of you thank you!!!!!!!!!!!
How many people hold over 10K coin of this?
how many people hold 5k ? -- if you have to make guess? I know there is no richlist so if any veteran XMR member can give me opinion
And you can create another account named as "XMRKing" or "MoneroKing" Welcome on the board with us.

Since the fork happened I have only noticed one orphan block on the mining pool I use. Before the split we had 10 or more orphans. I would suspect some of the bigger pools have seen more orphans since the split simply because of the higher hashing rate. Looks like the move from one minute to two minutes per block have really helped out that situation.

Really cool but it might still be better to go with a trezor unless you are knowledgable on how to and prepared to a) produce a freshly formatted linux box b) manually prepare a signed transaction offline c) transport the signed transaction to an online machine and broacast d) format and scrub the memory on the linux box Yes this is overkill security. But so is the thing you liked so I assume you are into overkill security. But i mean dont let me stop you. That thing looks awesome. Just thinking a trezor might be easier is all.
