That is so strange. I never would have even guessed there were two standards so similar to each other floating around. This seems dumb. This community should probably just settle on a standard.

I may have just done an hours worth of tedious work for nothing.

Just two standards? There's more than that. Smiley

We were just having a bit of fun and the linking of that comic was inspired by my comment that was signal not noise. Sad

Kind of wish start the art did post the pictures here, framing the message as a showcase of start the art's art for the monero community may be perceived differently than an upfront solicitation to buy said art.

hope to see other artists take liberties with the monero design!! that blue is good

Ha. So true. Start the art's paintings are already famous. We should not give him a hard time for just posting a link, especially one that promotes XMR, IMO. Thanks!

MoneroForCash.com just upgraded to 0.10.0 (Wolfram Warptangent), synced from scratch and it took less than an hour. I made a deposit to my account, no problems.

Well done, devs!

Took me about 12 minutes to refresh from scratch.  Well done!  Using less memory too.
Daemon and wallet working correctly here so far.

So daemon says:  Height: 1139836/1139836 (100.0%) on mainnet, not mining, net hash 31.47 MH/s, v2
(next fork in 2.1 days), up to date, 9+2 connections

What is coming in 2 days for the next fork?

Is the new release a planned v3 fork that has been completed ahead of schedule? The v3 should be out on sep 21 but if this is correct and this release = v3, I assume then that no releases will happen on 21st. Or is this a separate improvement and v3 is still planned for 21st?

I assume nothing since the main and only idea in those pumps has always been to 1) pre-pump a ruse BLOATchain poop to ridiculous levels; and 2) bot-squeeze the hell outta shorters --> which is what we are seeing right now.

Notice how ass revolting bots at polo haunt ur stops if u happen to jump onto margin. So at this point its totally alright and acceptable that it was pre-pumped 2 days ahead of schedule.

The market is being gamed by one single dude / group, with money used for pumping ETH, exclusively for polo, in the same style they wring out breakouts, same bots they use to pull irrational thrusts, classics.  I saw it coming mile away, all the same fucking footprints all around there. All shit timed with important decision points or pumps in bitcoin.

What is coming within a few days should be a no-brainer.

There is not much difference. The only change is enforcing mixable outputs on coinbase (mining) transactions.

Bigger changes will come in the next fork (v4) with the enablement of ringct (currently enabled only on testnet).

Some dude wants to develop another GUI for a mere 200 XMR.

https://forum.getmonero.org/6/ideas/86924/nice-gui-wallet

https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/53lsqv/anyone_interested_in_an_alternative_gui_wallet/

He says he can do it in 1.5 weeks.

If you think the proposal is worth funding, please post on the forum.

Worst case scenario, he misses the 1.5 week deadline and the Core Devs get 200 XMR....

Quote
The only viable long term solutions that I have seen for a flexible blocksize limit also require a tail emission. That being said this does not mean, I have a proof that a long term solution for a flexible blocksize limit without a tail emission is not possible.

This is a quote from Arcticmine's comment he made earlier from another thread. My question is, what is the theory behind needing a tail emission for dynamic block sizes?

He also mentioned that he does not have proof that a long term solution for not having a tail emission for dynamic block sizes is not possible. So meaning dynamic block sizes even with a capped number of coins with no tail emission could also be possible? Please explain.
