News section on CryptoNote.org We are happy to announce a news section on the cryptonote.org. The new section is dedicated to new developments, ideas and news from the CryptoNote realm. About two years ago the CryptoNote technology had only been represented by Bytecoin (BCN) but since then things have changed dramatically. Not only the number of Bytecoins has soared, the other coins such as Quazarcoin, Fantomcoin and Monero are taking the cryptocurrency world by storm. The CryptoNote community becomes very diverse and geographically disseminated therefore we believe it is our duty to spread the word and bring everyone at one place. Just by clicking on the news tab you’ll have the latest account on what’s been going on with CryptoNote-based currencies along with fresh updates from the devs at hand. The idea is to turn this website into a vibrant pool of information accessible to anybody who wants to keep one's finger on the pulse of CryptoNote technology. If you are a CryptoNote enthusiast and you have some ideas worth sharing, please don’t hesitate to contact us at news@cryptonote.orgWhat order are the coins being listed on https://cryptonote.org/coins.phpIt doesn't seem to be order of release, order of name, order of currency code. So what is it? The main/first cryptonote is listed first (bytecoin) then the rest (altcoins) are listed alphabetically below.

Even though I registered just now I have been following this forum for awhile, just never felt a need to say anything. But in regards to their online presence I completely agree, it's absolutely appalling. These guys may be doing a great job on technical side but evidently they need to step up their game in terms of Monero brand. Thus I e-mailed them to offer my web development services so that Monero could have a presentable, nice looking website which I'm sure wouldn't hurt it. However, two days later still no reply. I understand that nice looking designs and all that stuff won't make the coin better but it sure will make it more attractive to some people. If developers of Monero coin are reading this, please understand that it's important and not that hard to do.

Yep i have voted . It looks like it has good volume and accepts only BTC, LTC and DOGE right now. We surely need more votes there!
Monero listed as MRO there. Will tweet it, must fix. Sorry. Fixed now.

Monero added to Hitbtc voting. They've already started trading Doge because it won there. It's a nice new exchange and I think Monero could carve through this voting list, because there's no strong competition between the parties. https://hitbtc.com/voteBy the way there is a cute post in hitbtc twitter lol Yep i have voted . It looks like it has good volume and accepts only BTC, LTC and DOGE right now. We surely need more votes there! Thanks for voting It seems that new votes for your currency are tallying up fast! A small note: votes from registered users are multiplied x10 so they are the easiest way to earn more votes. So if XMR should get enough votes, soon we will add it, like Doge. We will add new currencies again and again, so don’t give up if you are not a leader yet and vote more! Vote here: https://hitbtc.com/vote

Either they should sort the list in an order, or put a noticeable divider between BCN and the rest. At the moment it looks like perhaps an order of preference from the cryptonote team.

Anyone look closely at the order book and trade history on Poloniex? It really looks like someone is just trying to walk the price up with all of those TINY buy orders. But in fairness there are TINY sell orders. I mean there are buys and sells that are for like tiny fractions of XMR, much less BTC. It is like that all the way down (see pic below). I wish they had a "group by" way of seeing the order book, like they used to have when Clark Moody did that for Bitcoin. Just to get the price to .008 again would take just a few bitcoins. The orderbook is just so thin all round.

BTC = Black Swan. BTC = Antifragile - "Some things benefit from shocks; they thrive and grow when exposed to volatility, randomness, disorder, and stressors and love adventure, risk, and uncertainty. Robust is not the opposite of fragile.

I miss it a lot. Only 32 btc to head back to 8 mBTC and 46 btc to 5mbTC.

I love XMR's potential, but until the devs really understand the need for speed and the need for ease of use and the need for active marketing now while the iron is hot, [...]
Do you really believe we are not deeply aware of that and actively working on it (for weeks)? Unfortunately, one cannot just copy-and-paste some Qt code and even copy BBR's code would not suffice. Edit: the same holds true for the website. We have designers, coders and marketers on it. Yes, it takes time but this is because we know we will have to stick with end product for years (reason: inertia). It will be worth the wait. Again, thanks to all people proposing help for the website - even if we don't need any, your proposal are truly appreciated. By the way: once the website will be operational, we will contact the various persons who proposed translations. We did not forget you!

Monero's privacy and therefore fungibility are MUCH stronger than Bitcoin's. This makes Monero a better candidate to deserve the term "digital cash".
