The fact that JL777 contacted CZ and CZ is willing to help says ALOT about both of them. I have my doubts, however, that if the situation was reversed, that the favor would be turned.
why if it happened to any cryptonote then it might have serious implications for the rest. douse the fire in your neighbor's house or it'll soon become yours that burns.

I hold both XMR and BBR (until something better may arise) - I don't see any reason for hostility between the two projects...

The markets are closed. So why keep arguing? It doesn't really serve to anything, even the price cannot change (fall) until all is fixed and markets unfreeze XMR.
And when it's fixed, the only reasonable outcome would be a stronger coin.

It has even been mentioned that BBR should increase in price as a result from an attack towards XMR code (which BBR itself also uses). This proposal is ridiculous, because either it has the same vulnerability and the attack was just directed to the more prominent coin, or BBR will suffer the same attack soon or be already suffering it without even noticing, OR that BBR insider(s) are behind the attack.
Oh dear, very stupid thing to say without any proof.

There isn't any hostility between XMR and BBR. Risto was simply saying that BBR (or any other cryptonote) could be just as vulnerable as they all came from the same codebase. Im embarrased right now to own a lot of Monero. The Monero fanbois are such douchbags right now when it comes to BBR. Oh, yeah, BBR MUST have the same vunerabilities. Dudes need to worry about their own house and stop talking about BBR.
Anyone who talks about Monero "fanbois" being negative toward BBR is spreading FUD and fueling a fire that largely doesn't exist. CZ and XMR devs communicate regularly. Quit attacking strawmen.

Monero devs took CryptoNote protocol and tried to implement some changes without any understanding of what they're doing. Probably XMR’s devs questionable modifications lead to this kind of attack. That is what you get when you steal the code you are not capable of maintaining.
Remember kids: you should not modify a code if you’re not completely sure what it will cause. Currently people are paying with their funds because of the incompetent Monero devs. Reminds me too much of a real world situation, when the bank closes people loose funds they've invested. I hoped we wouldn't see it in the crypto world.

i think that the devs will be far more interested in collaborating on this and finding the problem with XMR than pointing fingers or claiming their brand is best. The fact that JL777 contacted CZ and CZ is willing to help says ALOT about both of them. I have my doubts, however, that if the situation was reversed, that the favor would be turned. Really? I haven't seen CZ on the BBR thread yet (I'm a BBR and XMR holder). The FUD seems strong in this post.

They took the XMR market offline but the BBR market is still active. I guess they took just the wallet offline.

You could also be behind the attack. Does that mean I'm accusing you, or acknowledging a possibility?

You have no idea what you're talking about. You don't even know how the attack was carried out or which other CN coins (if not all of them) are vulnerable.

You left out that the probability that changes in BBR's code already made it not vulnerable to the attack. 1. I take back all statements that may be understood as "attacking" BBR or its dev. 2. I am just so used to the "follow the money" detective work, where I have concluded that the only possible source for the attack on XMR is the (B)CN scamdevs. It's like 9/11 - only people high in the U.S. government has both the motive and the means, so since we know it happened, it must have been happened under their direction. It was not my intention to attack the public layer of BBR, that would have been childish. 3. I just want to say to the higher honchos in (B)CN scamteam: "If XMR wins despite all your effort in having a crippled code that you "skillfully repair" in your scamforks, U must be serially mad, bro !! "

I wish I had that powers lol Can you explain to me please how there is no hostility when the No1 public figure of XMR is saying such things? Clever way to avoid the facts by focusing on me, the trick won't work sweetheart

Are you a programmer now? Did you see the code?
Better let the experts (like Todd or Anonymint) have an opinion on this..
He's correct - if we're vulnerable then the largest likelihood is that other CN coins are too. It's also possible that one of them patched the vulnerability already, it's not like everyone talks across the fence and discusses this sort of thing.

That's utterly inane - we've made no protocol-level modifications that would cause this. If TFT's original modifications caused this and nobody noticed that has nothing to do with us.

It's nice we have the crap posted in the last 4 pages - now I have a direct link when somebody asks what FUD is. Seriously people... let the devs from all the CN work on it, then play armchair quarterback.
