I just setup a new client with 1.4.1 on a raspberry pi3 i had sitting in a corner for a while. However, it will take a lot of time to catch up to the current block.
I tried to use the chain data provided in the previous post, but unfortunately it did not work on the raspberry.

The main problem is, that jpc only uses one thread for block verification. I can't remember if there was the possibility to use more than one core/thread.
Anyone knows?

cheers

A raspberry can not handle it with this block#. You need to use a decent hardware such as i5 cpu and 8gb memory. Also use the provided data, otherwise it may take several months to catch up.  Grin

Well, the current situation is a little frustrating. Since with 1.4 it's not possible anymore to allow rpc connections globally it's hard to support the network further. I've setup a new node on a vps, but my home IP is dynamic, so I would need to stop the demon, and add the new ip every 24h in order to mine against the wallet. But because of the insane amount of blocks, it takes around 30mins for the startup of the demon.

I will let the node run for a while and see if I can find a way around it, but if the coin is to be revived, there need to be some major changes. Higher blocktime to reduce the amount of blocks to be processed, an up-2-date bitcoin base etc. Best would be to write jpc from scratch and then allow the exchange from old jpc to new jpc.

@cvaky: Use 1.4.1: Best would be to build from git.

I've been trying to sync the wallet fully. Started with client 1.6.0 and it crashed repeatedly. Decided to give 1.4.1 a shot (due to a recommendation in one of the internets random forums) and it seems to be far more stable. However when the progress bar went away, there has been about 21 hours left to sync and it's taking literally 21 hours. I'm currently down to 9 hours however since the progress bar went away, the status bar has read "WARNING: Checkpoint is too old. Wait for block chain to download, or notify developers"

I've not been able to find any help for this and I'm just letting the wallet sync. Hoping that it will somehow sort itself out if it ever reaches completion.

It was tried. Someone released Sweepstakes coin and it was an even bigger failure.

Dead algo.

EDIT: It seems a new Dev Team took over Sweepstakes Coin yesterday. A reputable one. So ignore this shitcoin and go to Sweepstakes Coin.

I have recovered my bitcointalk account back. Someone had hacked my account and used if for the past few months.
Any postings between Sep 1 2017 to Oct 15, 2017 from this account were not posted by me.
I already deleted them all.

I have the full control of bitcoin address 19u7aBJGkTXUCtBPHW4a8PrcJBrbVhWUha
and the address is posted on
http://explorer.jpcpal.com/

I will keep maintaining the jackpotcoin explorer for a while and welcome anybody mining the chain.

Looks like i might be the only one with open wallet

For fun i will send free coins to anyone that gets their wallet synced up and sends me 1 coin to prove they are synced to Jca2rfKrGBf3qn2ANQNK4ydcstvr76AaDE (this is an empty wallet so when you send it doesn't get missed in the staking i have going on with my main wallet.)

First Person gets       100,000 coins
Second Person gets   50,000 coins
Third Person gets      25,000 coins

and it will keep dividing in half as the number of people go up.

leave a reply once you get your wallet synced up and i will send the reward back to the address i received the 1 coin on.

I would like to, but I am getting error st9bad_alloc , but my wallet.dat got 50MB. I have got 4GB RAM only, maybe that is the problem.
So I am trying to sync it from beginning, It was working a few days and then I could to launch app.

if you sync from the beginning its going to take forever. use the files from my google drive link to over write yours and keep your wallet.dat file in there. the wallet uses alot of CPU and about 2GB of ram for me. try opening the wallet a few times maybe it will start. mine takes a long time to start and sometimes errors out a few times first. if it doesnt work again i can upload the updated files from my wallet for you to try.
