I had to delete the blkindex. 12 hours later it still isn't completely synced. Does this sound right? (Version 1.5)
Edit: And everytime I click on the wallet it goes to (Not Responding) for about 30 seconds then comes back. So I can't even unlock it for minting, even though it hasn't fully synced yet.
I also had to delete and start from scratch. Now 14 hours syncing, only 59% done. Why is it so slow. How to speed up this. Anyone have any clue?

When you sync from scratch, do it with a brand new empty wallet.dat. It's faster than with a wallet containing coins! Edit: And backup your wallet.dat before doing that of course lol

Wouldn't the wallet resync over again when you replace the wallet.dat with the original that contains the coins?

If you are going to leave your BTC on an exchange please send it to this address instead 1GH3ub3UUHbU5qDJW5u3E9jZ96ZEmzaXtG, I will at least use the money better than someone who steals it from the exchange. Thanks

So is the Bittrex wallet being disabled part of the wallet upgrade or is JPC being delisted or something?

No - once the blockchain is downloaded, the wallet.dat file just tells the client which address/addresses to look for. Only takes a few seconds.

Support for this coin is getting worst, to have a coin disable on one of the best exchanges and nothing posted here is a bad thing..wallet change should not take that long...

Hmm, JPC wallet has been working on bittrex for quite some time now, have you actually checked it? They did disable it before, but then again they've had issues with Azure and all the wallets (read their last news announcement), and JPC has been enabled hours ago. I've just checked it by depositing some JPC — it works just fine.

So can someone please explain why a lot of people had to resync by downloading the whole blockchain and others did not. These are some of the quirks of altcoins that I do not understand.

I love the coin and the recent updates but dev you need to make sure it will NOT cause issues. Exchanges going offline with OUR wallet is a bad thing.
I for one am more than happy to help on testnet if you need people in future. The Crypto community needs to learn how to release quality work.
