First thing to look at i think is what does an icon look like at 16x16 pixels.. That is the windows wallet tray icon size (what i look at the most) so what it looks like right now for me is a Yellow circle with a Red dot in the middle LOL trying to make an icon that scales down well is pretty hard edit: here is a picture of my JPC wallet tray icon on Windows 7 (see how it looks small and hard to distinguish)

Heard about JackpotCoin a while back but never looked into it. Now, having read through the website, I have a couple questions:
1) My understanding of why most coins have not gone smaller than 60 second block times is that network speed required 10-15 seconds to pass through the blockchain info so that miners and stakers are all synced together. As I understand it, the shorter the block time, the larger the number of orphaned blocks. With JPC having 20 second staking blocks, doesn't this lead to a very large number of orphans, and an excessively large dependence on checkpointing to keep people oriented together? Thus, don't people with the best latency end up getting the vast majority of blocks and other people end up with very large numbers of orphans?
With 60 second block times already showing very good results in confirmation times for the first confirm, what is the benefit of the 20 second spacing?
2) Also, Peercoin already has separate block time targets between PoW and PoS. How is this different and new in that regard?

why diff so low? all nvidia miners jump ship I have to admit I took off briefly and started on CACH once JPC showed up 4 coins down the profitability calc I'm using, down from its normal #1 spot. I only lasted a few hours- the jackpot drew me back.

I too always end up coming back to JPC. Once you start getting into the millions of coins the staking gets quite nice! I am about to hit 10 million, I am staking pretty much every 1 or 2 hours now.

kooka ra'acha that is meal to fatten you up senor i had somewhere around 2 million or 2.5 million or something way back and i wish i kept them to stake etc had some bills and dumped various coins but i really didn't have to i should kept em i was dumb ! I have managed to turn around 30k into 341,000 JPC last month or two by using some misc faucects + trading etc and CPU mining though edit: Jackpotcoin has been a fun coin to take part in i think which is why i got involved and stayed too.. and if guys go and come back then great we have no hard feelings.. welcome back and have fun

I buy when its low and mine it both. The staking helps to accelerate my accumulation.

2 of my 3 rigs were running the whole time but didn't get any shares submitted into that block, so I got no credit either... That's the nature of mining and pools, etc. Win some and lose some. Luckily I got a little bonus from my other rig which managed to submit some. So which pool found it?

I tried staking but it didn't make any sense. At 0.0955% a day it's significantly less profitable and risky to invest in JPC for staking than just buying 750 Ti card(s) and mining via PoW. I thought maybe my math was wrong so I bought ~ 6mil JPC and tried it in practice.. nope, turned out close to those 0.0955% a day, which is nothing when you have only a few mil. Bought 2 mil @ 10sat and ~4mil @ 9sat, sold those 6mil @ 11sat and stopped my experiments with JPC for now. So far it seems like the only people that really do well with PoS are the developers with their 300mil premine and those users that expect JPC to go up in price at some point later (which is quite unlikely considering how alts usually do over time). I'm a bit curious though what's planned for the next wallet release, maybe the devs will shed some light on it.

Personally I can not understand why the price is so low. Dev gave the masses what was wanted yet a low market cap. I dunno...how about a merged mining? Infinitecoin is in the same boat too.

It's just another coin for the mining masses to grind into the ground after squeezing every last bit of profit that can be had. It's like miners are like those nudist guys in EuroTrip chasing after the only female on the beach. Once a coin makes it to a profit calculator- it's doomed. Anything profitable gets targeted and ran up in difficulty until it costs more in electricity to mine.
