Anybody know what is going on with pool.saffron.com?  I just noticed I have not made any coins there with my 20 mh/s since 8/6!  Did I miss something or is there a problem here?

Development Update

Our next major feature will be a built-in music player. We are going to expand on ROXCoin's visions.
This music/media player would be the first step towards SaffronCoin's decentralized/P2P music sharing.

We will be adopting Blockchain 2.0 i.e. Sidechains for all our decentralized services including SFRDirect. Using the existing Blockchain for other P2P features like some other coins is not optimal because the Bitcoin Developers call that to be "spamming" the blockchain.
So a Sidechain can host a variety of services without interrupting the original chain.

Our next wallet could be out in a week's time. Some members requested some extra essential features such as Wallet Update notifications and a currency converter for SFR in BTC and Fiat.

Will have all these in the next wallet!

Humm do you think the p2p music integration could trigger music content owners to react negatively that could legally jeopardize other great decentralized ideas that the team is implementing? no sense in picking a fight that disrupts other one of a kind integrations ur doing.!!!!

glad I found this coin, great team business orientated and thinking application and usable. not just because its possible... the side chain hasn't been explored as a p2p platform for expansion. glad you talk about it and do so with minimal hype. "Measure twice cut once" "Under promise over perform"

best regards,

donot

It is not exactly Music Sharing like torrents. In an earlier post I have posted about an IBM ad, and such a technology decentralized can be very useful and could lay a foundation for greater things to come. We wouldn't allow complete media transfer because then the nodes would have to download the media and that could bloat the blockchain hugely.

Sidechains are the future of the Bitcoin Protocol. The biggest centralized service/websites you see today will one day be decentralized and will be running of sidechains of cryptos.

That is why we are focusing on this thinking about the future and looking to build various apps/services not on the original blockchain but on a sidechain.

That seems to be a HUGE feature! Wow!
Can't wait to see more about this! Very interesting!

I think I was just able to confirm that there is a problem with the main pool at pool.saffron.com and not the network.  Moved my miners over to cloudminers and verified I am indeed getting paid out from that pool.  I show I solved many blocks at the main pool the last 2 days but was not credited any coins during this time.

There are currently only 2 people left on the main pool, I suspect others noticed the problem and just moved instead of saying anything but these other 2 people are still wasting their resources so hopefully someone sees this soon and gets it resolved.  Hopefully whatever the problem is will allow us to get our lost coins.

I issued a trouble ticket with Cryptsy yesterday concerning not being able to withdraw coins. I received a reply that the problem was being taken care of. I received my coins. Now the wallet is down again. Just reopened the issue. Waiting for a response. Will keep everyone posted.

We are re-architecting some of our backend wallet systems recently and over the next few days. May see some in maintenance here and there

-- This appears to be some scheduled maintenance by Cryptsy.

Well that 15btc dump sure ruined the great momentum we had going. Nobody does a dump like that if they plan on cashing out of the market (they would normally push the market into progressive sell orders), it seems like this guy did that to suppress the price so he can cause panic selling into his buy orders and accumulate more at a lower price. So this could a good sign.

Yeah, that is what I was thinking. I've been watching it for 5 hours, now, and all I can think is-hmm, I really should be buying more right now... Wink

That big dump did halt our momentum for a bit. It looked like whale manipulation. As soon as that dump happened, big buy orders rose at early 2k. Probably that whale was looking to buy lower and sell higher at Cryptsy. We were trading at 5k+ on cryptsy.
But guess that whale didn't know that Cryptsy SFR wallet is disabled due to maintenance. So no deposits and withdrawals from Crypsty.  Grin
In a way it is good that 500k SFR got distributed. Atleast that 1 whale won't be bothering dumping during a price rise and halt our momentum.

Those of you that panic sold, would like to tell you to relax. These things happen. We have some big developments we are working and will continuously update you all on our progress.

Such things may halt a price rise but not our development!

Cheers

We will be releasing a wallet tomorrow, Monday. It will contain essential features such as:

-Valuation of your SFR in BTC and fiat.

-Wallet update notification.

-New SFRPay vouchers for 7000 and 10000 SFR. So the limit is increased from 5k SFR to 10k SFR. This is being done after noticing the success of SFRPay. It is a widely used feature in our wallet. Many have bought 5k SFR twice. So we thought to better increase the limit to 10K.

-We might be adding some charity organisations that accept BTC into the SFRBit tab. So if you like to donate to a charitable trust, you can do so with your SFR using SFRBit. (This feature is not confirmed. We still have to obtain a list of notable charitable trusts accepting BTC.)

We are thinking of removing the built-in exchange trading feature. Don't think it is used much and it does tend to lag the wallet a bit.

A new wallet update notification will be displayed at the bottom of your wallet. In future versions, we will include a method where you can just update to the latest version without downloading it separately.

In regards to removing the exchange part of the wallet, I half way agree.
But what about using API to access bittrex trades, instead of how its currently done?
Cloak coin has a nice bittrex interface using API, allowing one to make trades in cloak, using their account on bittrex, right from the wallet.

I don't know if it still causes lags or not, but I figured I would ask.
