I hope the pouncer deal goes through , then 0.5% withdraw fees and free trading for 1-2 months, then lower than 0.5% withdrawal fee.

I suggest a combination. Keeping 3% of NXT from people is more "stealing" than holding back X% of current accounts until they are back up to 100+% of customer's NXT balances held.

I'm glad I don't keep any coins on exchanges. I learned me lesson from ShareXCoin scam.

Thanks for replies - taken me a few days to get around to following this up -

I've now downloaded Lite Multigateway BETA v1.4.1 + Nxt Client 1.2.5 Windows Installer from http://multigateway.org/#sec_downloads

but when I tried to to update, as required, to 1.2.6 and dropped the zip file into the NRS update section of the client, I got the following message:

To anyone who hasn't been keeping up: 43 million of the stolen NXT has been recovered, there has been no rollback.
BTER is back up and running, so we're all good.....

No, increase ALL the fees site wide a small percentage. The hack was due to BTERs lax security. Just because NXT was what was stolen doesn't mean only the NXT community should pay for it.

That doesn't change the fact that they run on fractional reserve. If they increase trading fees but remove cashout fee, then all cash out and the last persons to cashout have non left to cashout.

It sounds like Bter have now borrowed enough from various Nxt whales to cover the deficit, so they aren't running on fractional reserve any more. Also, their withdrawal fees are reduced to 1%. That's not as good as the old 0.5%, but is much better than 3%.

I think the 3% wasn't so much to punish the Nxt community, or to make back the loss quicker, as to discourage a run on the exchange as soon as withdrawals were reopened. Basically, Bter seem solid, and are trying to do the right thing; they just need time to sort themselves out.

but I'm getting the "wait until the blockchain finishes downloading" message ..
I get to block 196,598 on July 28th and it stops there ..
The "withdraw NXT" window opens and appears functional,
But i don't want to make a mistake ..

Should I upgrade the client again and reload the blockchain or will a
