Very, very interesting.

Will this coin be able to distribute any document in the blockchain?

In other words, can you sell things through this coin's transaction system and leverage the distributed nature to serve it?

Like is this coin a cross between an altcoin and a market and bittorrent?

Hi there Caniggia,

I'm the main programmer for Syscoin.  The next thing I want to work on is implementing a price discovery mechanism for aliases.  The use case I have in mind here is domain name registration, like namecoin, but with a smarter mechanism setting Syscoin service fees.  Basically, I want to make the cost of an alias reflect market demand and competition by being able to price certain kinds of aliases using an auction-like system to set service fees.

After that, implementing the ability to set offer pricing using an auction-like system is likely next.

There are many other potential services we could implement, but a lot of it will be decided based on market feedback and demand and I'm not quite comfortable talking about them yet.

Thanks!

Yes, most especially if what you're delivering to someone is a digital license, certificate or any other proof of redemption that needs to be provably unique. You can sell things on the coin's transaction system, and then deliver a provably unique certificate containing any kind of data you want to anyone on the syscoin network. The functionality to tie certificates and offers together consists of probably about a dozen lines of code using whatever JSON-RPC api you might already be using to help automate your coin daemons.

Can you distribute say like a video file instead of a cert through this?

How big of a file can be sent through the blockchain?

You could, but the fees involved would properly mean it would be more beneficial to store magnet links.
We are still working out the fees and limits as part of the current testing.

funny how the shitcoins get so much attention, and the few legit and interesting ones like syscoin stay in the shade.

well done and you got my support Wink
