I tried it and had the same experience. Minera doesn't work very well for me at all, ever. Regardless of version and any tweaks and regardless of what miner software I activate within Minera, it's low rate and higher than 95% HW errors.

I did discover that an Atom 450 based netbook running cgminerdmaxl with USB hubs can easily handle 10 ASICs, if that helps you any. I ran that way for a week, to see how it would go.

A quad AMD Phenom with the same setup does just fine and can handle even more ASICs.

Is anyone mining SYS using Minera?  I have been having a real hard time finding a pool that is compatible with the mining software (and doesn't screw you on the hashrate).

I found it has more to do with the pool.  The blades really run well under minera.  Just have to connect to the right pool.  I tried MinderPools and the offical pool, the miners doesn't like either.  The pool was under reporting the hash rate by 10-15%

Syscoin.me is getting 59% hash rate, should we worry about that?

I'm not 'worried' per-se, but it is important that people mining on syscoin.me should move to another pool to balance things out to avoid any possible, though somewhat unlikely forking issues.

I'm going to guess that Minera and Gridseed get along just fine. I do know that some pools don't work well with Gridseeds. So, in your case, it is likely as you say - a pool issue.

I, however, am not using Gridseeds. I have something substantially bigger. I am reasonably confident (from troubleshooting things with 30 years experience in Unix, Dos, and Windows) that the USB driver is not compatible with the ASICs I own. I could never get Minera on the R Pi to work with any coin on any of the 30+ pools I use. Always HW errors greater than 95%.

I suggest to the person who originally posted a problem mining SYS through Minera with a Zeus based ASIC (that includes GAW) - use something besides Minera. Since you don't own Gridseed, don't rely on Gridseed troubleshooting measures. You do own Zeus manufactured hardware, and so did I at the time of all the trouble.

I tried it and had the same experience. Minera doesn't work very well for me at all, ever. Regardless of version and any tweaks and regardless of what miner software I activate within Minera, it's low rate and higher than 95% HW errors.

I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

I've got the latest updates, switched out the factory class 10 SD for Samsung Class 10 SD, overclocked, converted it to boot from the SD but run everything from SSD via USB.

Doesn't do any good for my hardware. It would have been convenient if it had worked, but it wasn't critical to me that the cost be under $50 for a controller system.

I ended up buying a netbook with a busted screen from craigslist, plugged into external monitor, setup remote access to it, shut it down, then restarted and remoted in, then configured it to mine. Worked great for me and cost less than the class 10 Samsung SD, $28 for the SD + $35 for the R Pi + all the extras that didn't work -VS- $10 for a busted netbook 1GB RAM and 250 GB HD.

The R Pi units are now set as home media centers and given to family.

Is anyone mining SYS using Minera?  I have been having a real hard time finding a pool that is compatible with the mining software (and doesn't screw you on the hashrate).

I'm using it with 12 of the cupcake gridseeds on Syscoin.me.. the only problem I had was the vardiff, I put them on the 256 port and it's been working great for almost a week now.
once i get my shop finished and everything migrated then i plan to do that. simple and cheap.

Syscoin.me is a great pool but people should SPREAD OUT THEIR HASHING POWER. The team has been working with pools lately and these are very reliable and stable pools, more can be found in OP:

http://thepool.pw/sys

http://sys.cloudminers.net

http://lifeforce.info/

http://syscoin.minerpools.com/

Development UPDATE:

We have decided to delay the 0.1.4 release until we have finished fixing an issue that was "patched" in 0.1.3; This fix will make life easier for pool operators and should lead to more pools as well. For those who have missed updates in the spam here is what is coming up for the 0.1.4 Syscoin release which we are working on right now, as well as the status of these deliverables:

Syscoin r0.1.4 (target date is ASAP)
  • Service Fee Regeneration to Miners (substantially increased block rewards without any change to max coins)- COMPLETE
  • Merged Mining (two coins for the work of one! compatible with any other scrypt coin, will increase hashrate and distribution) - COMPLETE PENDING FINAL VERIFICATION ON TESTNET
  • Daemon Uptime Issues for Pool Operators (patched in 0.1.3) - IN PROGRESS

We are working on the new Syscoin Official Info thread and we will lock this thread and link to the new thread shortly.

@DEV, this coin is a long-term project, but can you post the roadmap and timelines in detail and do it as planed, it will lead this coin to the right way,  it's very very important in current situation!

Please look at what EXO did, it hit more serious issue than SYS, but they have a roadmap and timeline now, less FUD and less impatient on its community.

They did post a roadmap, it was several pages ago. Search is your friend.

Search shouldnt be needed. The OP as bloated as it is needs a clearly defined roadmap.  OP is where people get their first impression of your product, it's pass or fail.

Basics of an effective OP include:
1) Link to working website & social media - check
2) Link to working wallet (including config file)-half check - there is a nodes link bit it lacks instruction
3) Technical specs of coin(algo, #'s ect) - check
4) Differentiator and explanation of technology - check
5) Roadmap - fail

What may seem common sense to most of us can be daunting to noobs.
Noobs bring the new money, try to accommodate them.

If you want the floor to be 300-450 sats then keep selling at 450 and buying at 300-350 to make a small profit until you bleed the coin out. Want movement? Hold! Holy shit, DejaVu.

Until you pull your heads out of you asses it will be the same old shit over and over.

That is why i emphasis the importance of marketing, it is the job of marketing dept to polish the OP (and the rest of syscoin showcase) and come up with aggressive plan for introduction and reaching new user, we have seen many example of success selling turd as gold over and over, i recently saw some celebrity management sold concert ticket and charge extra $25 for an opportunity to handshake, and it's sold out, paying for a handshake?? come on, i think with the raw potential of this coin and the people behind the development, i think any professional marketing can sold this very easily.
