hold or cry in a few years, thats why haha
I was an investor of Darkcoin in the early stages, made a couple thousand off of it but I could have been a millionaire. Not going to make the same mistake with this one, definitely a hold for me.

Say if I had 1 BTC in my wallet and wanted to spend some NODE but didn't actually have any NODE in the wallet, will the system eventually be able to convert the BTC to NODE?

No, the USD, EUR, NODE and BTC are completely separate. The BTC in the client is still in the BTC blockchain the NODE client just acts as a wallet manager. The only way to turn NODE in to BTC or USD to NODE or NODE to EUR or any other combination is to find someone who has some NODE or USD or EUR or BTC and trade them. Also the NODEpay can only create and destroy USD and EUR as deposits and withdrawals are made. They cannot create NODE and they cannot move USD or EUR out of your account. In order to make a withdraw you have to transfer your USD or EUR to their account using your private key then they will remit payment in physical currency and destroy the corresponding crypto USD or EUR. EditI assume they can create and destroy USD and EUR. The white paper is not clear on that. Upon further reflection I realized that it is possible that there is a set amount of USD and EUR and they just hold it all until someone purchases it from a NODEbank, though I doubt that is the case. The white paper is clear that they cannot transfer ANY money out of your wallet and they cannot make or destroy NODE or BTC though.

Windows client seems instable. (Win 8.1.1, x64) I started several times, went well for a period and then simply stopped.
