Looks like chunypool's site is 502 Bad Gateway. I hope all is well!
Looks to be just the front page having an issue - https://chunkypools.com/uvc/ is up, for example, as are all the other pool pages.  Mining seems to be working just fine there too.

"The OP could dump a total of 141BTC worth on all markets this coin is traded on if the value is 2000 satoshi. (Expected value for this amount of total coins with such a reward)."

Prominence seems to have been spot on.

Um, other than his math skills.

708000*.00002000=14.1, not 141.

The FUD about the dev dumping coins has no basis in fact. The premine was confirmed to be 0.5% of the 100M maximum total coins = 500,000 UVC

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=590681.msg6546825#msg6546825

At the high of 2000 sat, the premine was the equivalent of 10 BTC, hardly an excessive amount. Part of it was also used for bounties, giveaways and to compensate people that rented rigs for the prior launch. The launch was fair and without any instamining with the 1 coin block reward for the first 200 blocks. While the current price of 350 sat is certainly low for those planing on a Pump and Dump coin to day trade, I don't think the short-term price should be the dev's primary focus and I await to hear his further developments.

I agree and with finals week just ending for United States universities I believe that this week will be the start of many projects for the coin.

9 million were mined.  Proof-Of-Stake will grow that to 100 million over time.

Has anyone else gotten a virus alert about the UniversityCoin-qt.exe file?

Avast tells me it's infected with the Win32:Evo-gen virus.

http://www.im-infected.com/virus/win32evo-gen-susp.html

I downloaded the zip file from this thread, and from their webpage, both are infected.  When I ran the program without the conf file, no virus warning came up.  Once I used the conf file, Avast identifies it as infected.

This is something to be worried about.  That virus opens backdoors for remote access.  Glad I always disable remote access and the services it depends upon.

Sorry for late updates!

There are few things we are working on,

1. We are testing Android and iOS wallet, the beta version will be released about next Wednesday.

2. 5 more universities ambassadors

3. The first restaurant with UVC payment

And thank you all for supporting UVC!

Details please about these university ambassadors, existing ones already in places, their names and at which universities.  What plan are they following to promote the coin in Universities and how are they rewarded for their efforts?

I see 1 big problem at the moment - University term is pretty much ended already so there won't be any students to sell the ideas to.

This crypto currency is in crisis at the moment, price and market cap are crazily low.  Regardless of get-rich quick mentality peoples investments are going down the toilet literally.  If OP (not Developer I might add, who was just paid 0.2btc to create the coin) keeps stringing people along then a community takeover will be next on the agenda.

waiting for the Wednesday  Grin

Yeah, the developer(s) are so active..

He is posting like once a week if even that.

I think this coin was doomed to fail from the start with this development rate.

Seriously iOS app ?

Hey dev, Apple is anti-crypto, what make you think Apple would allow a crypto wallet ? Last time i checked, no Bitcoin wallet is allowed on Appstore.

This seems to be a trick to fool more people buying a dead coin. It's Wednesday already.

This coin could have been great if it weren't for the dev being so incompetent, he was offered help many times but didn't reply, though the only thing that's confusing me is why he's coming online, but doesn't reply, if had abandoned the project I don't see why he would be online  Huh Huh
