Can you use gridseed with this software and is there any limit of how many you can add?

Sorry for being studpid.  Smiley

There's no fixed limit, but I don't know how many it can handle.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

It can handle as many as your miner can. I run 10 gridseed 5-chips on one instance and 2 gridseed blades on another.

What's the price for a blade and the 5-chip today?

I bought the 5-chips in bulk for $150 and the blades for $50 each. The seller had just ordered a fancy new L3 so had no reason to keep them, good deal for me!

im running this on a RPI with the IMG from your site using a custom bfgminer for the moonlander scrypt usbs..

after a few weeks, it stops restarting the miner if the usbs go dead.. i have it set to 1 dead at 300 seconds.
this is very important as these things one by one they eventually go dead and then after awhile there are none mining.

the only fix i found is to reinstall the img..

has anyone else experienced this?

That's weird, so everything is working fine but the auto-restarting feature? Did you look at some logs like those in /var/log/minera
Is there sufficient card space?

Is there sufficient card space?

so according to scp there is plenty of empty space on the card.
also it appears it is still checking for dead miners.

ERROR - 2017-08-07 23:50:06 --> TIME: 1502175006 - SCHEDULED START TIME: 1502173031

altho it doesnt seem to find them and restart.

Hard to tell you why but I could tell you where to put some debug logs.

From this line, try to add some debug:

https://github.com/michelem09/minera/blob/8890458b3dbb36cdc4bfb29c350759aec2588baf/application/controllers/app.php#L1322

For example add a line like this:

Code:
log_message('error', $this->util_model->isOnline());

Then after 1342 line add also this:

Code:
log_message('error', $lastshares);

And let me know what you get.

Hey,

Thanks for your help before, much appreciated!

Next question....

So I have 1 Zeus & 1 gridseed hooked up and they are working fine. I now want to add a U3 - I presume this is possible but not sure how to be honest. If i plug it in the Minera terminal sees it plugged in but I don't know how to add it as a seperate local miner and direct it to a SHA pool rather than scrypt.

Could you give me a hand please?

Cheers,
Raab

maybe it was running out of drive space.. your minera img only has a few MB left open after writing the img to a sd card..

i am expanding it now to use the full 8gb of sdcard.

edit all done, lets see what happens.

Code:
Filesystem      Size  Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/root       7.2G  3.2G  3.7G  47% /
devtmpfs        214M     0  214M   0% /dev
tmpfs           218M     0  218M   0% /dev/shm
tmpfs           218M  4.8M  213M   3% /run
tmpfs           5.0M  4.0K  5.0M   1% /run/lock
tmpfs           218M     0  218M   0% /sys/fs/cgroup
/dev/mmcblk0p1   56M   21M   36M  38% /boot
tmpfs            44M     0   44M   0% /run/user/1001
tmpfs            44M     0   44M   0% /run/user/0

Hey, michelem  when is version 8 coming out ? . I saw a few pages back you had version 8 you were testing with not much done but was updated to 7.0 php . an I know not much is being done to version 8, to me it's just a break form the old stuff to something new even if it is bug fixes and will we still be able to do a manual install those that like to.

and is any more being done with the online beta version ?.
I haven't really looked it much any more, i actually like version 7.0 more or this version of minera more.

and minera runs great on my Orange PI one with Ubuntu 16 server.

I looked at the WiKi, but could not figure it out.  Embarrassed

Plug in it
Go to settings
Add correct pools for Scrypt algo
Select a preconfigured miner as Cpuminer
Save settings
Start the miner

If you need more please post your configs so we can look at something

What doesn't work? Did you check the logs in the dashboard? Is it starting but not hashing? What miner software did you choose? Can we see a settings page screenshot?

I'm sorry but your requests lack of many informations to give you some support.
