Sorry for being lame, but how do you setup a gridseed to work with this?

I looked at the WiKi, but could not figure it out.  Embarrassed

Plug in it
Go to settings
Add correct pools for Scrypt algo
Select a preconfigured miner as Cpuminer
Save settings
Start the miner

If you need more please post your configs so we can look at something

Thank you.

I did what you wrote, but it dosen't seems to work.

RPi 3 + Gridseed 5-chips.

Not sure what else of config you would like.

What doesn't work? Did you check the logs in the dashboard? Is it starting but not hashing? What miner software did you choose? Can we see a settings page screenshot?

I'm sorry but your requests lack of many informations to give you some support.

Sorry.

No local devices found
No pools details

Picked a preconfigured miner options:
cpuminer --gs3355-detect --freq=838

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Is it powered the Gridseed? Try to reboot with everything connected and powered.

Mining Bitcoin CASH (BCH/BCC) profitable?

Hi guys,
if you have old SHA256 hardware, mining Bitcoin Cash with them could be profitable. Difficulty is at the same level as Bitcoin in January 2016.
I didn't much calculations, I'll give this to you, but make a thought about this.

https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/difficulty-btc-bch.html

[UPDATE]

It seems I'm not the only one who noticed this https://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-cash-closes-profitability-parity-original-blockchain/

hmmm, I am terrified to even try this on my fury.

And I will do some testing...

Very scary indeed as I don't know what the defaults are set at etc etc etc.

You have only to switch the pool to a BCC one (like this https://pool.viabtc.com/pool/bcc/home/)

you can use the  bitcoin wisdom calculator and put the diff and price of bcc in and see if you are above the profit line.

I have a scenario to solo mine here and wondering how to do it. I have bitconnect wallet setup on main pc on the network. Raspi3 running Minera. How would I solo mine on the network using minera this way? Ive tried and failed multiple times. Ive used 127.0.0.1 to try and it doesnt see the pool. I have even input the pc ip on the network as well, still no luck. Works fine on the pc of course where wallet is located. But isnt there a way for the miners on the pi to see the wallet on the network in order to see the pool and mine? I feel like im close but cant get the last bit right. Thank you.

If your Bitcoin server is on your PC you need to setup your pool using your PC's IP.

So for example, you have Bitcoin server with this config in your PC with 192.168.0.10

Code:
daemon=1
server=1
gen=0
rpcuser=USERNAME
rpcpassword=PASSWORD
rpcallowip=192.168.1.20
rpcport=8332

And the you have your Minera on 192.168.1.20 where you setup cgminer to point to a pool like this:

URL:192.168.0.10:8332
USER: USERNAME
PASS: PASSWORD

And it should work.

Check for reference https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=315477.0

Hey Michelem!

Firstly, just want to thank you for making such an awesome bit of software, I do currently dedicate 45mins a day to you, will increase that once I have some more LTC behind me!

I'm mining LTC at the moment on some Gridseed 5's, just wondering, how do I switch to mining BTC? Or BCC?

Do I just switch the pool details?

Any help would be appreciated greatly, thanks again for your software.

Thanks! To mine BTC with Gridseed I think you need special miner software from producer here there is something you could try https://github.com/gridseed/usb-miner/tree/master/software
Once you build the miner just use it as a Custom miner on Minera, but I never tried it.

Probably you can try with Cgminer Dmaxl fork too and use this options:

Code:
--sha256 --scan-serial gridseed:auto --gridseed-options freq=800

Can you use Minera on RPi 2? I'm trying to get WiFi to work on my RPi 2.

When I have cable and WiFi connected, I can see that both cable and WiFi gets an IP, but when I take of the cable the WiFi is disappearing. I can't get in contact with the system.

I have been followed the link you wrote earliere.

Do I have to do something else for me only to get access by WiFi?

Did you get an IP address for your wlan0 interface? Can you get something from system logs?
Did you put your correct ssid and wpa password?

What's output of "ifconfig" and "iwconfig"

You need to setup Wifi on your pi like this: https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/configuration/wireless/wireless-cli.md

As I wrote I get an IP for both cable and WiFi, so to answer your questions the answer is : Yes. But as soon I take out the cable and boot I don't get any IP for the WiFi.
How can I get something from the systemlog? I don't have any IP on my system now where I'm at.

EDIT: But googling this I merge other solutions. I just skipped this part from wpa_supplicant.conf

    proto=RSN
    key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
    pairwise=CCMP
    auth_alg=OPEN

and now it works.

Hi to all!
First I have to say that I'm totally new to all regarding bitcoin mining. I bought Raspberry Pi 3 Model B, and GekkoScience 2Pac BM1384 and USB hub with self power (900mA)
I try all different ways to start mining, but non of them works for me (I'm doing something wrong for sure Cheesy Cheesy )
Few days ago I found Minera and I was hopping that I will get mining started finally but I was wrong Cheesy

I did all the steps and when I insert SD card into RPi in booting section I get this error
"[FAILED] Failed to start /etc/rc.local Compatibility.
See 'systemctml status rc-local.service' for details."

And when its all done I see a line
User: Minera
for a second or two and than i get black monitor.
Can some one help me to solve this?
I have slushpool account registered, and in other service my wallet.

Just get the raspberry IP and use it in your PC browser.

"[FAILED] Failed to start /etc/rc.local Compatibility.
See 'systemctml status rc-local.service' for details."

And when its all done I see a line

What I did to fix this was:

1) Login with the minera user (default password is minera)

2) Use nano to edit the rc.local

> sudo nano /etc/rc.local

Added a # comment to the lines that get the IP and echo it:

Quote
# Print the IP address
_IP=$(hostname -I | tr -d ' ') || true
printf "Connect to http://%s/minera to manage Minera\n" "$_IP"
printf "Happy mining!\n"

becomes

Quote
# Print the IP address
#_IP=$(hostname -I | tr -d ' ') || true
#printf "Connect to http://%s/minera to manage Minera\n" "$_IP"
#printf "Happy mining!\n"

I only got this problem when I was on wi-fi, but commenting those lines above fixed the rc.local not loading. Additionally, you could add a sleep there.

Yes I know, you need the new release that fixes it, I'm going to release it in few days (I hope).
Unfortunately it's not possible to add them by yourself, to calculate profitability the difficulty and reward for the coin is needed and I didn't find any public API with these informations available in internet, so for each coin you see now I brought up a coin server with a private API to get that info.
